accessing webpages from terminal

Using Ubuntu 12.04 .

I know two methods to access the web-pages through terminal . They are lynx & elinkswhen i have tried to use them to access web-pages from terminal i didn't felt any kind of speed improvements .

I am not sure whether its a usual thing or my speed (because its slow one ).

so which way is the best to access the web-page terminal browsers or GUI browsers?

and what else more i can get/lost from text terminals ?
