I am searching for relatively recent (5+ years) research material on cognitive aspects of programming languages. Before you send me to Google (or other search engines), I have already been there, and also at IEEE, ACM and others, but with not many results (there are comparisons of VPLs to textual languages, but also not very recent)

My interest is in research on what makes one programming language more "understandable" to humans than another.
