If I buy a windows 8 pro from amazon(US), can I activate it in China?

Microsoft do not sell Windows 8's DVD in China, We can only update to Windows 8 from Windows 7 , Vista or Windows XP SP3.

However, I am a Ubuntu user, I don't have Windows 7 , Vista or Windows XP SP3 installed in my laptop.

I was planning to buy a DVD of Windows 8 Pro from Amazon.com, but I don't know if it can be activated in China.

Does anybody know? The customer service of Microsoft is too busy right now.
