12.10 update-manager is behaving strange?

First I tried to update Kernel ( with 3.5.0-18 of your choice ) with update-manager. But update-manager crashed each time after 3 attempts when I typed my password ?

Then I tried to update with terminal and apt-get as usual way.

There then seems to be no update-files with a sudden

after a pause ---

Yes update-manager behaved strange, but it seems, that update-manager made a QUIET update ? There was nothing to see . . .

I restarted my machine and new kernel is installed then.
