Copying between 2 network devices

My network has 3 devices - 1 PC and 2 other network devices (which could be PC, NAS, external hard drive etc)

If I want to copy data from one network device to another network device from my PC (using the copy and paste method (i.e right click a file, select copy and then right click into the destination folder and click paste) and therefore not using any tools that could be built into the network devices for such a transaction), does the data get routed via my PC or use my systems resources?
