Update manager doesn't want to run because of the error given below. The happens when trying to launch Ubuntu software center. I'm using Ubuntu 12.04. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Sylvain

Error message: 'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/gb.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise-updates_main_i18n_Translation-en, E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.'
