I am completely new to the forums and almost completely new to Linux. I am running Chrubuntu on an Acer C7 and I've been having trouble installing anything in the Ubuntu Software Center.

Based on some advice in another thread I tried to install Synaptic, which seems like it does the same thing except it actually works, but I get the same error message with that as I have with every other program I've tried installing. This is all I get under the details:

libept1.4.12 librarian0 rarian-compat synaptic

Any help with some simple step by step instructions on how to fix this, and will Synaptic basically be able to replace the Software Center?

Thanks a lot.
