Screen with no usable configuration - Ubuntu 12.04

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 on my Dell XPS13 L322X (installed onto a flash drive). However, at boot time, the screen just turns off. I was able to access the Terminal through recovery mode though.

I have tried several of the most common solutions that I've seen on forums/AskUbuntu, in vain.

Please help me figure this out. Thanks!
