I have a client Ubuntu 13.04 machine trying to connect to a server running Raspbian with samba and samba-common-bin installed on the server
I can see my share and when I try to login I get this error: Unable to access location: Failed to write windows share Cannot allocate memory
.
I have installed ntfs-3g for the usb hard drive that already auto mounts on the server so I never had to create a directory or edit fstab.
Testparm on the server states the following:
[global]
workgroup = ENVOYWEB
server string = %h server
map to guest = Bad User
obey pam restrictions = Yes
pam password change = Yes
passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
passwd chat = *Enter\snew\s*\spassword:* %n\n *Retype\snew\s*\spassword:* %n\n *password\supdated\ssuccessfully* .
unix password sync = Yes
syslog = 0
log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
max log size = 1000
dns proxy = No
usershare allow guests = Yes
panic action = /usr/share/samba/panic-action %d
idmap config * : backend = tdb
