teamwork
I am really interested to hear any ideas or working practices that can be adopted to encourage our team of developers to write more code. A little background here is involves a team of varying disciplines, experience and qualities and the nature of the work has a large focus on bug fixes and business logic / data validation over writing lots of new greenfield code or even refactoring. We are attempting to move to a more Agile philosophy and really what would be great is to hear any ideas that can be sold to the team and / or the business with the aim of:
- Writing more new code to improve experience, abilities and increase exposure to newer and emerging patterns and practices.
- Energizing the effort of the team and inspire.
- Encouraging wider input of new ideas, patterns and practices from the team as a whole.
I would be very interested (and grateful) to hear any ideas or examples of ideas that can help here.
Thanks!
