I want to create an application that controls the volume, play next\last, stop\play and things like this (I don't know what they called) like in a keyboard. I have tried to find how to do this with Python\Java but I couldn't find how.

The main idea is (if some-one knows what is arduino) to connect it to my PC (Ubuntu) and to get from it signals that gives me values and with this values to be able to change the volume and to do next song\video.
