This question has been posted loads of times, I know, but seriously I've spent hours and HOURS searching the web for answers.

Anyways, basically I have just installed Ubuntu 13.04 for the first time. I tried to get on youtube and found out I cannot play videos. When I went to install flash the windows popped up saying either install Adobe flash or gnash.

installed Flash from the Adobe website. Three different files types to choose from. YUM, .tar.gz or .rpm. Now from what I could gather .tar.gz is the right one so I tried it and it downloaded without the error message.

It comes up with the box that says open with archive manager. Extracted the files but none of them were of any use. Could not work out how to install it. There was no file intended for installation.

So what am I meant to do with these files? Would it be easier to just install Gnash?
