I have an issue with heat and noise on my laptop with Ubuntu 14.04 installed. The thing is that when I have the AC charger plugged into the laptop, it automatically goes to "boost mode" or something. And when the laptop is on battery mode, the heat and noise is reduced shortly. I want the laptop to be on battery mode as general and "boost mode" as an option if more power is needed. Any solutions?

I have installed tlp that doesn't seen to have any effect.
