  • How to Change System Application Pages (Like AccessDenied.aspx, Signout.aspx etc)

    An advantage of SharePoint 2010 over SharePoint 2007 is, we can programatically change the URL of System Application Pages. For Example, It was not very easy to change the URL of AccessDenied.aspx page in SharePoint 2007 but in SharePoint 2010 we can easily change the URL with just few lines of code. For this purpose we have two methods available: GetMappedPage UpdateMappedPage: returns true if the custom application page is successfully mapped; otherwise, false. You can override following pages. Member name Description None AccessDenied Specifies AccessDenied.aspx. Confirmation Specifies Confirmation.aspx. Error Specifies Error.aspx. Login Specifies Login.aspx. RequestAccess Specifies ReqAcc.aspx. Signout Specifies SignOut.aspx. WebDeleted Specifies WebDeleted.aspx.     I have implement Form Authentication <location path="Admin"> <system.web> <authorization> <deny users="?"/> <allow roles="Admin" /> <deny roles="systemAdmin"/> </authorization> </system.web> </location> Since in above mentioned rights, Admin can have access to Admin folder and systemAdmin can't have. I have make custom Accessdenied page where I am showing message to user he has not permission to access this page Now the issue is, If systemAdmin try to hit Admin folder page, he will be redirected to AccessDenied.apsx page. (please Note: both user are authenticated, 1 user have permission to some folder and other user have permission to other folder. I don't want to put check in each page) where to specify accessdenied page redirection ? Thanks

  • 10013 error (AccessDenied) on Silverlight Socet application

    I am writing silverlight 3 application which is working on network. It works like client-server application. There is WinForm application for server and silverlight application for client. I use TcpListener on server and connect from client to it with Socket. In local network it works fine, but when I try to use it from internet it don't connect to server. I use IP address on local network and real IP with port number for internet version. I get error 10013 AccessDenied. Port number is correct and access policy exist. Firewall is turned of. Where is the problem? Thanks.

  • Error while dynamically loading mapi32.dll

    Our application uses Simple MAPI to send e-mails. One of our clients has problems sending e-mail from a session on his terminal server. The mapi32.dll is loaded with a call to LoadLibrary which succeeds, but then our application tries to get the addresses of the functions MAPILogon, MAPILogOff, MAPISendMail, MAPIFreeBuffer and MAPIResolveName. The problem is that GetProcAddress fails for those functions with an ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED (code: 5) except for MAPIFreeBuffer. It looks like some sort of security thing. How can I fix this or should I use another method to send mail?     Hello, I'm running into a scenario where at random times I am getting "Access Denied" when executing javascript. It is not repeatable and occurs in random places of my application. There is not indication of what is causing it in the logs and I'm really at a loss on this. It seems to be UI problem only. However, there is no reason it should appear as I do not have any such permission checking to could be getting triggered. Thanks in advance

    I have an HTC Desire HD, with Android Froyo (2.2) and PDANet installed. I am using Ubuntu 10.10. I cannot tether it over Bluetooth either with Network Manager or BlueMan. (note, I installed Blueman only after failing with NetWork manager, and I even tried the last version from the PPA). With both my device is discovered, paired, setup. But connecting always fail.   • SharePoint site access request denied permissions

    Here is a good catch-22. When a user without any permissions on a site requests access from the _layouts/AccessDenied.aspx page it takes them to the Request Access page (_layouts/ecm_reqacc.aspx). When the user fills out the form with a simple message it is supposed to send an email to the address specified in the site collection and take them to _layouts/confirmation.aspx. Unfortunately the users are getting another access denied error instead. I have tried going to _layouts/accessdenied.aspx on a site I am the administrator of and the email is sent fine, so it is not a problem with sending the emails. What should I check and/or give access to in order for authenticated, but not permissioned users the ability to send access requests?

    Here's my web.config customErrors section (you'll notice I've switched the mode to 'On' so I can see the redirect on my localhost): <customErrors defaultRedirect="~/Application/ServerError.aspx" mode="On" redirectMode="ResponseRewrite"> <error statusCode="403" redirect="~/Secure/AccessDenied.aspx" /> </customErrors> and here's the code that throws: Catch adEx As AccessDeniedException Throw New HttpException(DirectCast(HttpStatusCode.Forbidden, Integer), adEx.Message) End Try and here's what I end up with: Which is not my pretty AccessDenied.aspx page but it is a forbidden error page so at least I know my throw is working. I've removed the entry for 403 in IIS (7.0) as a desperate last attempt and unsuprisingly that made no difference. I've run out of ideas now so any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated!

  • Ubuntu tweak not showing all the menus

    Ubuntu-Tweak doesn't have the option Startup which includes Session Manager Session Control and few other options are not there. I am running the latest version available to download.     Hello I am using Dreamweaver CS5 with Coldfusion 9 to build a dynamic website. I have a MS Access Database that stores login information which includes ID, FullName, FirstName, LastName, Username, Pawword, AcessLevels. My question is this: I currently have session variable to track the Username when it is entered into the login page. However I would like to use that Username to pull the User's FullName to display throughout the web pages and use for querying data. How do I change the session variable to read that when they are not entering their FullName on the login page but only Username and password. I have listed my login information code below if there is any additional information needed please let me know.     Hi all, I'm new to sharepoint 2007, currently the home page is htp://internal.com/sites/osfc/Pages/Default.aspx but I would like to use htp://internal.com or have htp://internal.com redirect to the long URL. How can I do this? I thought of using a 301 redirect but the permissions on the site in IIS don't allow users to view files placed in the root and I don't want to mess with the permissions. Currently if I visit http://internal.com I see a sharepouint Access Denied page (htp://internal.com/_layouts/AccessDenied.aspx?Source=%2f). Note: I've used htp:// above as serverfault doesn't allow more than 1 https:// link. Many thanks Steven

The DynamicMasterPageFile attribute in SharePoint 2010 master pages allows application pages start using the site’s master page instead of the application master page. If you want backwards compatibility with SharePoint 2007, i.e. you want unbranded application pages, here is what you can do, a) You can change the MasterPageReferenceEnabled property to false in your SPWebApplication object, orb) Go to central administration\application management\manage web application\select your web app … go to the ribbon, look for general settings\general settings, and detach application pages from the site’s master page.     Hi, I'd like my ASP.NET MVC application to redirect failed requests to matching action methods of a certain controller. This works fine on my development machine running Windows 7, but not on my production machine running Windows 2008 R2. I set up my web.config as follows: <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="/Error/ServerError/500"> <error statusCode="403" redirect="/Error/AccessDenied" /> <error statusCode="404" redirect="/Error/FileNotFound" /> </customErrors> This customErrors section works fine on both of my machines (production and development) for 500 Internal Server errors. It also works fine for 404 errors on my development machine. However, it does not properly redirect 404 errors on the production machine. Instead of /Error/FileNotFound, I get the standard 404 page that comes with IIS 7. What could be the problem here?

    I have a user model which is access controlled by ACL9 in userscontroller: ACL9 related stuff before_filter :load_user, :only = [:show] access_control do allow :owner, :of = :user, :to = [:show] end def load_user user = User.find(params[:id]) end in ApplicaitonController I have a rescue_from 'Acl9::AccessDenied', :with = :access_denied def access_denied authenticate_user! # a method from Devise end it is no problem to type in url for sign in page http://localhost:3000/users/sign_in but it is a problem when for example I type in the user page first, which I am to expect to be redirected to sign in page automatically thru the logic above http://localhost:3000/users/1 #= infinite redirect hell. it tries to redirect back to users/1 again(!?) instead of directing to users/sign_in Does anyone have an opinion as to what might be going wrong?     I've got a sharepoint site and a custom aspx portal, both under Windows Authentication. With the same machine, it happens that my sharepoint site returning me my current login, while my custom aspx returning me my domain admin account instead. Is there anyway that I could ensure both logins are the same? Otherwise, is there anyway to consume SPUserProfileService from a custom aspx portal? Mainly, I need to have the custom aspx portal to get sharepoint logon id. Nevertheless, i could still trigger AccessDenied.aspx in sharepoint to prompt for logins.

  • Updating permissions on Amazon S3 files that were uploaded via JungleDisk

    I am starting to use Jungle Disk to upload files to an Amazon S3 bucket which corresponds to a Cloudfront distribution. i.e. I can access it via an http:// URL and I am using Amazon as a CDN. The problem I am facing is that Jungle Disk doesn't set 'read' permissions on the files so when I go to the corresponding URL in a browser I get an Amazon 'AccessDenied' error. If I use a tool like BucketExplorer to set the ACL then that URL now returns a 200. I really really like the simplicity of dragging files to a network drive. JungleDisk is the best program I've found to do this reliably without tripping over itself and getting confused. However it doesn't seem to have an option to make the files read-able. I really don't want to have to go to a different tool (especially if i have to buy it) to just change the permissions - and this seems really slow anyway because they generally seem to traverse the whole directory structure. JungleDisk provides some kind of 'web access' - but this is a paid feature and I'm not sure if it will work or not. S3 doesn't appear to propagate permissions down which is a real pain. I'm considering writing a manual tool to traverse my tree and set everything to 'read' but I'd rather not do this if this is a problem someone else has already solved.

  • AWS EC2 - How to specify an IAM role for an instance being launched via awscli

    I am using the "aws ec2 run-instances" command (from the awscli package) to launch an instance in AWS EC2. I want to set an IAM role on the instance I am launching. The IAM role is configured and I can use it successfully when launching an instance from the AWS web UI. But when I try to do this using that command, and the "--iam-instance-profile" option, it failed. Doing "aws ec2 run-instances help" shows Arn= and Name= subfields for the value. When I try to look up the Arn using "aws iam list-instance-profiles" it gives this error message: A client error (AccessDenied) occurred: User: arn:aws:sts::xxxxxxxxxxxx:assumed-role/shell/i-15c2766d is not authorized to perform: iam:ListInstanceProfiles on resource: arn:aws:iam::xxxxxxxxxxxx:instance-profile/ (where xxxxxxxxxxxx is my AWS 12-digit account number) I looked up the Arn string via the web UI and used that via "--iam-instance-profile Arn=arn:aws:iam::xxxxxxxxxxxx:instance-profile/shell" on the run-instances command, and that failed with: A client error (UnauthorizedOperation) occurred: You are not authorized to perform this operation. If I leave off the "--iam-instance-profile" option entirely, the instance will launch but it will not have the IAM role setting I need. So the permission seems to have something to do with using "--iam-instance-profile" or accessing IAM data. I repeated several times in case of AWS glitches (they happen sometimes) and no success. I suspected that perhaps there is a restriction that an instance with an IAM role is not allowed to launch an instance with a more powerful IAM role. But in this case, the instance I am doing the command in has the same IAM role that I am trying to use. named "shell" (though I also tried using another one, no luck). Is setting an IAM role not even permitted from an instance (via its IAM role credentials)? Is there some higher IAM role permission needed to use IAM roles, than is needed for just launching a plain instance? Is "--iam-instance-profile" the appropriate way to specify an IAM role? Do I need to use a subset of the Arn string, or format it in some other way? Is it possible to set up an IAM role that can do any IAM role accesses (maybe a "Super Root IAM" ... making up this name)? FYI, everything involves Linux running on the instances. Also, I am running all this from an instance because I could not get these tools installed on my desktop. That and I do not want to put my IAM user credentials on any AWS storage as advised by AWS here. after answered: I did not mention the launching instance permission of "PowerUserAccess" (vs. "AdministratorAccess") because I did not realize additional access was needed at the time the question was asked. I assumed that the IAM role was "information" attached to the launch. But it really is more than that. It is a granting of permission.
