  • Sound plays from laptop speakers only even when headphones are connected

    I'm using a Dell Vostro 1014 laptop with Ubuntu 11.10. From the time I had Ubuntu 9.04, sound comes from the laptop speakers only even when I plug in earphones or external speakers. Also, if an external microphone plugged in, it does not work. Dell even replaced my motherboard to check for hardware issues but the problem persists. So it is definitely not a hardware issue. The sound plays perfectly through the headphones in the pre-boot diagnostics. So I figure, this must be a problem with Ubuntu not recognizing my sound card. Please try to give a solution for this problem.

  • Symfony 1.4 Layout footer glitch: Footer div is echoed out with $sf_content

    I have a very simple Layout for my application. A header, the main content, and a footer. Semantically, they are rendered like this: <body> <div id = "header"> </div> <div id = "content"> </div> <div id = "footer"> </div> </body> The corresponding CSS is very basic as well: #header{ width:100%; min-height:10%; } #center{ width:100%; min-height:80%; } #footer{ width:100%; min-height:10%: } As you would know in the layout page, here is how the content is rendered: <div id= "content"> <?php echo $sf_content; ?> </div> All of the above is very fine and it renders itself as it is supposed to. But there is a glitch with this, the moment i put in <?php echo $sf_content; ?> the footer is included as part of the content and not as a div that is after the #content markup. Essentially, I get this: <div id = "header"></div> <div id = "content> <div id ="symfony_template_to_be_rendered"> <!-- all web application related content like forms etc. --> </div> <div id = "footer">Footer material </div> </div> As you can see, for some weird reason, the footer moved up along with the symfony content. Clearly this is a glitch because if I remove the php hash $sf_content part from the div tags in my layouts, then the footer renders itself as and where it should be and everything takes up the required dimensions. What's going on here?

    I have tried alot to remove this error but could not get success.When i am running this script on localhost its working fine but not working on Joomla frame work.   • Why does this work: Windows same local admin username and password, able to access other computer?

    I've two machines MachineA and MachineB. Both have two local accounts which have same username . Both accounts are local admin on those machines. If they have same password, I'm able to access \\MachineA\C$ from MachineB. But if I change any one password above doesn't work. And it prompts for username and password. Now if I provide MachineA\username and password, it then connects. Why isn't there a prompt for password when passwords are same? I expected passwords to be hashed with random salt, how does windows know passwords are same and authorize access? These machines are running Windows Server 2008 R2. PS. I've created following reg key to enable drive access HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy to 1

  • DataGridView not showing Columns and Rows during runtime.

    I have created a windows form with two groupbox (GB1 and GB2). GB2 is set to BringToFront and Hide. GB2 have Datagridview dgv docked in panel. GB1 has a button which invoke GB2 groupbox and fill 5 datagridview rows to perform 5 operations. But is not visible during runtime. It display all columns and rows after all 5 operations were done. I want to show the user each row. I have tried below code but it did not work.   • How to close a dialouge box from some custom link inside the dialouge box

    Hi, I have custom control which i am rendering inside dailouge box. this custom control has a link lable lnkLable. I want to close the opened window when i click on lnkLable. right now i am finding the parent of my conrol which will be dialouge control in the end and then calling the dispose method of that, which i dont feel very good technique to do this.
