• Error with zoomStartTime and AnnotatedTimeLine

    - by user973025
    I'm a bit of a beginner with Javascript, but last month I had a working Google chart linked to a Google Docs file, which uses a start date for the graph at 90 days before the current date. I checked the page today and in Chrome I get the message "Object # has no method 'getTime'", and in Firefox I get the message "b.zoomStartTime[y] is not a function". Both stop the graph from loading. I have simplified the code to help me with the error, but I'm not getting anywhere... Here's the code: Any ideas would be hugely appreciated. David.

  • Populate google.visualization.DataTable for a AnnotatedTimeLine using JSON

    - by Lucifer
    Hi I have a HttpHandler which returns some JSON in (i think) the correct format for a google.visualization.DataTable, but the AnnotatedTimeLine fails to work? This is the JSON returned by the Handler: {cols: [{id: 'DATE', label: 'Date', type: 'date'}, {id: 'KEYWORD51', label: 'vw cheltenham', type: 'number'}, {id: 'KEYWORD52', label: 'volkswagen cheltenham', type: 'number'}, {id: 'KEYWORD61', label: 'vw dealer cheltenham', type: 'number'}], rows: [{c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 13)}, {v: 20}, {v: 1}, {v: 2}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 14)}, {v: 19}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 15)}, {v: 19}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 16)}, {v: 18}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 17)}, {v: 17}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 18)}, {v: 17}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 19)}, {v: 12}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 20)}, {v: 13}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 21)}, {v: 11}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 22)}, {v: 10}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 23)}, {v: 10}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 24)}, {v: 8}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 25)}, {v: 6}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 26)}, {v: 6}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 27)}, {v: 5}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 28)}, {v: 4}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 29)}, {v: 4}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 3, 30)}, {v: 2}, {v: 1}, {v: 1}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 1)}, {v: 2}, {v: 1}, {v: 1}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 2)}, {v: 1}, {v: 1}, {v: 1}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 3)}, {v: 2}, {v: 1}, {v: 1}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 4)}, {v: 0}, {v: 1}, {v: 1}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 5)}, {v: 0}, {v: 1}, {v: 1}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 6)}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 7)}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 8)}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 9)}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 10)}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}, {v: 0}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 11)}, {v: 0}, {v: 1}, {v: 1}]}, {c: [{v: new Date(2010, 4, 12)}, {v: 2}, {v: 1}, {v: 1}]}]} This is the Javascript, I used JQuery to get the JSON, have also tried $.getJSON() google.load('visualization', '1', { 'packages': ['annotatedtimeline'] }); google.setOnLoadCallback(loadGraph); function loadGraph() { $.get("/GraphDataHandler.axd", function(response) { drawGraph(response); }); } function drawGraph(response) { var visualization = new google.visualization.AnnotatedTimeLine(document.getElementById('chart_div')); var data = new google.visualization.DataTable(response, 0.6); visualization.draw(data, { title: 'Rankings', titleX: 'Date', titleY: 'Position', displayAnnotations: false, allowRedraw: true }); } But, if I write the same JSON to the page like below it works fine!?  Please advise how I can get it to work correctly using a the JSON calls?   • jQuery load Google Visualization API with AJAX

    - by Curro
    Hello. There is an issue that I cannot solve, I've been looking a lot in the internet but found nothing. I have this JavaScript that is used to do an Ajax request by PHP. When the request is done, it calls a function that uses the Google Visualization API to draw an annotatedtimeline to present the data. The script works great without AJAX, if I do everything inline it works great, but when I try to do it with AJAX it doesn't work!!! The error that I get is in the declaration of the "data" DataTable, in the Google Chrome Developer Tools I get a Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'DataTable' of undefined. When the script gets to the error, everything on the page is cleared, it just shows a blank page. So I don't know how to make it work. Please help Thanks in advance $(document).ready(function(){ // Get TIER1Tickets $("#divTendency").addClass("loading"); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "getTIER1Tickets.php", data: "", success: function(html){ // Succesful, load visualization API and send data google.load('visualization', '1', {'packages': ['annotatedtimeline']}); google.setOnLoadCallback(drawData(html)); } }); }); function drawData(response){ $("#divTendency").removeClass("loading"); // Data comes from PHP like: <CSV ticket count for each day>*<CSV dates for ticket counts>*<total number of days counted> // So it has to be split first by * then by , var dataArray = response.split("*"); var dataTickets = dataArray[0]; var dataDates = dataArray[1]; var dataCount = dataArray[2]; // The comma separation now splits the ticket counts and the dates var dataTicketArray = dataTickets.split(","); var dataDatesArray = dataDates.split(","); // Visualization data var data = new google.visualization.DataTable(); data.addColumn('date', 'Date'); data.addColumn('number', 'Tickets'); data.addRows(dataCount); var dateSplit = new Array(); for(var i = 0 ; i < dataCount ; i++){ // Separating the data because must be entered as "new Date(YYYY,M,D)" dateSplit = dataDatesArray[i].split("-"); data.setValue(i, 0, new Date(dateSplit[2],dateSplit[1],dateSplit[0])); data.setValue(i, 1, parseInt(dataTicketArray[i])); } var annotatedtimeline = new google.visualization.AnnotatedTimeLine(document.getElementById('divTendency')); annotatedtimeline.draw(data, {displayAnnotations: true}); }

  • load google annotated chart within jquery ui tab content via ajax method

    - by twmulloy
    Hi, I am encountering an issue with trying to load a google annotated chart (http://code.google.com/apis/visualization/documentation/gallery/annotatedtimeline.html) within a jquery ui tab using content via ajax method (http://jqueryui.com/demos/tabs/#ajax). If instead I use the default tabs functionality, writing out the code things work fine:

Chart

But if I use the ajax method for jquery ui tab and point to the partial for the tab, it doesn't work completely. The page renders and once the chart loads, the browser window goes white. However, you can see the tab partial flash just before the chart appears to finish rendering (the chart never actually displays). I have verified that the partial is indeed loading properly without the chart.

Chart

  • Is there a way to create a step chart using the Google Charts API?

    - by Nathan
    I'd like to use the google charts API to create a step chart for my Rails application. Preferably using the annotated timeline Google has (since it has a nice wrapper plugin for rails): http://code.google.com/apis/visualization/documentation/gallery/annotatedtimeline.html However, there doesn't seem to be a way to create a step chart using the annotated timeline or any other chart in the Google API. I'm looking to make a plot like this: If there is no way to do this with the google API, is there an alternative graphing library that can handle such a task?

  • Change axes of google chart without refresh?

    - by Mike Kriess
    If I was using the following: https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery/annotatedtimeline Assuming I did not have the line: data.addColumn('number', 'Sold Pencils'); or anything referring to 'Sold Pencils'; How do I make it such that when the user clicks an external link 'Sold Pencils' I am able to retrieve the data and add it to the graph (without the user refreshing the page). Is there some way to redraw the graph/add the column in this way?

The error is the following: invalid_block_tag raise self.error(token, "Invalid block tag: '%s'" % command) django.template.TemplateSyntaxError: Invalid block tag: 'endfor' The code is: function drawChart() { var data = new google.visualization.DataTable(); data.addColumn('date', 'time'); data.addColumn('number', 'x'); data.addColumn('number', 'y'); data.addColumn('number', 'z'); data.addRows([ {% for d in datos &} [new Date({{d.instante|date:"Y, m, d, H, i, s"}}), {{d.x}}, {{d.y}}, {{d.z}}] {% if not forloop.last %},{% endif %} ]); {% endfor %} var chart = new google.visualization.AnnotatedTimeLine(document.getElementById('chart_div')); chart.draw(data, {displayAnnotations: true}); } Thanks you all!

  • Google Visualization Annotated Time Line, removing data points.

    - by Vitaly Babiy
    I am trying to build a graph that will change resolution depending on how far you are zoomed in. Here is what it looks like when you are complete zoomed out. So this looks good so when I zoom in I get a higher resolution data and my graph looks like this: The problem is when I zoom out the higher resolution data does not get cleared out of the graph: The tables below the graphs are table display what is in the DataTable. This is what drawing code looks like. var g_graph = new google.visualization.AnnotatedTimeLine(document.getElementById('graph_div_json')); var table = new google.visualization.Table(document.getElementById('table_div_json')); function handleQueryResponse(response){ log("Drawing graph") var data = response.getDataTable() g_graph.draw(data, {allowRedraw:true, thickness:2, fill:50, scaleType:'maximized'}) table.draw(data, {allowRedraw:true}) } I am try to find a way for it to only displaying the data that is in the DataTable. I have tried removing the allowRedraw flag but then it breaks the zooming operation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
