Microsoft Loopback Adapter not listed under network adaptes drop down list

I have installed a Microsoft Loopback Adapter on my Windows 7 Machine
Under settings of my Windows XP mode virtual machine the Microsoft Loopback adapter is not listed under my network adapters. Can anyone maybe advise what I am missing here?
