• JQuery - Adding Cells to Dynamic Tree Table

  I can't quite wrap my head around this one... A table like the one below is spit out by a renderer from some XML. The XML it comes from has a variable depth. (Please point out if I'm using the rowspans in a horrific manner as well, I just came to this table with some experimentation). <table border="1"> <tr> <td rowspan="12">> 1</td> </tr> <tr> <td rowspan="3">1 > 2</td> </tr> <tr> <td>1 > 2 > 5</td> </tr> <tr> <td>1 > 2 > 6</td> </tr> <tr> <td rowspan="3">1 > 3</td> </tr> <tr> <td>1 > 3 > 7</td> </tr> <tr> <td>1 > 3 > 8</td> </tr> <tr> <td rowspan="3">1 > 4</td> </tr> <tr> <td>1 > 4 > 9</td> </tr> <tr> <td>1 > 4 > 10</td> </tr> </table> What I'm trying to accomplish in JQuery is this... User clicks cell "1 2" (which will have an ID). An item is dynamically added to the third level, but UNDER "1 2 6". What I could do is just add another row underneath "1 2" and increase the rowspan from "1 2", but the new cell would then appear out of order amongst "1 2 5" and "1 2 6". I don't really need the exact code to do this, just something to stop my head from spinning around this...Thanks!

• JQuery: Live <a> tag partially working second time around.

  I have the following jquery code: $("a[id*='Add_']").live('click', function() { //Get parentID to add to. var parentID = $(this).attr('id').substring(4); //Get div. var div = $("#CreateList"); //Ajax call to refresh "CreateList" div with new XML. div.load("/AddUnit?ParentID=" + parentID); }); Basically, contained within the div is a nested unordered list with several "Add_#" links. Clicking the links uses an ajax call to recreate the list with a new node. It clears all the add links, but they are added again by the ajax call. This is why I used the .live method so newly added "Add_#" links still have the binding. This works in most cases. If I click "Add_1", the div refreshes with the new info. If I then click "Add_2", it works again as expected. The problem I'm having happens when I click "Add_1", then the page refreshes (and creates a new "Add_1" link), then I click the re-rendered "Add_1" again. It's the same link, but it was refreshed during the ajax call. When I do that, the javascript function still gets called, but the .load method doesn't work. Any ideas why this might be happening? • JQuery: Selector that contains some text, but doesn't contain others

  Sorry if this question is mind numbingly easy to answer, but I'm a bit new to JQuery and I have a tight deadline. I am looking for a selector for textbox elements that have this format: id = "FixedName_#" "FixedName" will always be "FixedName", but I only want to find elements where the # is positive. So I would want to find "FixedName_1", and "FixedName_2" for example, but skip over "FixedName_-1" and "FixedName_-2". Thanks!

• Mixing LINQ to SQL with properties of objects in a generic list

  I am trying to accomplish something like this query: var query = from a in DatabaseTable where listOfObjects.Any(x => x.Id == a.Id) select a; Basically, I want to filter the results where a.Id equals a property of one of the objects in the generic list "listOfObjects". I'm getting the error "Local sequence cannot be used in LINQ to SQL implementation of query operators except the Contains() operator." Any ideas on how to filter this in an easily readable way using "contains" or another method? Thanks in advance.
