• Custom PCI bracket with support, for custom PCB?

  I am considering to put a custom PCB card that I made, into my computer. It won't go on any PCI connector, it plugs in on a USB connector on the motherboard, via a ribbon cable. I need thou to plug a device to it; which means that either I leave the PCB outside the case, hanging by the ribbon (bad idea), or I could put it in a PCI slot, using a bracket. The issue is that the brackets that I have, do not have tabs, so I have no way to screw the PCB on them. I was hoping to find something that would allow me to put the PCB on it, and then just fit it in the PCI bracket opening, like this: http://www.idotpc.com/TheStore/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=1203&idcategory=0 This one won't fit the bill since the holes are too close apart, compared to the one that I have already on the PCB (and can't make more holes). Do you know if there is a place where they make universal PCI bracket mounting systems for custom PCB? I just need one, so can't even order a custom one (they ask me 120 dollars for one). • Tournament bracket method to put distance between teammates

  I am using a proper binary tree to simulate a tournament bracket. It's preferred any competitors in the bracket that are teammates don't meet each other until the later rounds. What is an efficient method in which I can ensure that teammates in the bracket have as much distance as possible from each other? Are there any other data structures besides a tree that would be better for this purpose? EDIT: There can be more than 2 teams represented in a bracket.

  Is there a way to Find highlighted text that ONLY begins with a open square bracket? I've tried using the square bracket as a wildcard, but it won't find any adjoining words. For example, I have a document containing conditional paragraphs, in squared brackets, with the "name" of the paragraph highlighted at the beginning: "[Document to return Thank you for sending the documents requested earlier.]" (the section in bold is highlighted in blue in Word) Is there a way to find "[Document to return"?   /Users/smcho/Desktop/bracket/[10,20] directory has "abc.txt", but when I run this python code import glob import os.path path1 = "/Users/smcho/Desktop/bracket/\[10,20\]" pathName = os.path.join(path1, "*.txt") print glob.glob(pathName) It returns empty list. Can't python's glob doesn't handle the bracket letters or others? Is there any way to solve this problem?

• Notepad++ Move Caret Outside Bracket

  I've searched everywhere and can't find an answer to something incredibly simple and useful for Notepad++. When using autoclose, the cursor gets stuck inside, which is good until I've finished typing the parameters. How do I get the caret to jump outside of the currently nested autoclosed element? Regardless of it being (), {}, [], "", '', ? CTRL+B does does something similar, but it goes to the inside of the left bracket first, and then to the outside of the right bracket, which is where I want to be. This only works for brackets though, not tags and qoutations Hitting CTRL+B twice is cumbersome and manually hitting "right arrow" requires too much hand motion while coding. And finally, is there anyway I can map this to "SHIFT+Space"?

• Javascript Square bracket notation for global variables

  I ran into an interesting issue the other day and was wondering if someone could shed light on why this is happening. Here is what I am doing (for the purposes of this example I have dumbed down the example somewhat): I am creating a globally scoped variable using the square bracket notation and assigning it a value. Later I declare a var with the same name as the one I just created above. Note I am not assigning a value. Since this is a redeclaration of the same variable the old value should not be overriden as described here: http://www.w3schools.com/js/js_variables.asp //create global variable with square bracket notation window['y'] = 'old'; //redeclaration of the same variable var y; if (!y) y = 'new'; alert(y); //shows New instead of Old The problem is that the old value actually does get overriden and in the above eg. the alert shows 'new' instead of 'old'. Why ? I guess another way to state my question is how is the above code different in terms of semantics from the code below: //create global variable var y = 'old'; //redeclaration of the same variable var y; if (!y) y = 'new'; alert(y); //shows New instead of Old

When I remove round brackets it works fine.

  I'm looking for a way to implement a bracket style border around my <h2> headings; I've attached an image showing exactly what I'm trying to accomplish. The only way I can think of to achieve this effect is by using images, but I'm unsure of exactly how to do so(all of my <h2>s are of varying length/height, or if maybe there is a better way. • Scite Lua - escaping right bracket in regex?

  Hi all, Bumped into a somewhat weird problem... I want to turn the string: a\left(b_{d}\right) into a \left( b_{d} \right) in Scite using a Lua script. So, I made the following Lua script for Scite: function SpaceTexEquations() editor:BeginUndoAction() local sel = editor:GetSelText() local cln3 = string.gsub(sel, "\\left(", " \\left( ") local cln4 = string.gsub(cln3, "\\right)", " \\right) ") editor:ReplaceSel(cln4) editor:EndUndoAction() end The cln3 line works fine, however, cln4 crashes with: /home/user/sciteLuaFunctions.lua:49: invalid pattern capture >Lua: error occurred while processing command I think this is because bracket characters () are reserved characters in Lua; but then, how come the cln3 line works without escaping? By the way I also tried: -- using backslash \ as escape char: local cln4 = string.gsub(cln3, "\\right\)", " \\right) ") -- crashes all the same -- using percentage sign % as escape chare local cln4 = string.gsub(cln3, "\\right%)", " \\right) ") -- does not crash, but does not match either Could anyone tell me what would be the correct way to do this?   I have the following MXML: <mx:Script> var someBoolean:Boolean = determineSomeCondition(); </mx:Script> .... <foo:MyComponent somePropertyExpectingIDataRenderer="{ someBoolean ? new Component1ThatImplementsIDataRenderer() : new Component2ThatImplementsIDataRenderer() }"> </foo:MyComponent> I have also overridden the createChildren() function: override protected function createChildren():void { super.createChildren(); //do something with somePropertyExpectingIDataRenderer } My problem is: createChildren() is being called before the squiggly bracket logic is being evaluated, so in createChildren(), somePropertyExpectingIDataRenderer is null. However if I pass the component via MXML like this: <foo:MyComponent> <bar:somePropertyExpectingIDataRenderer> <baz:Component1ThatImplementsIDataRenderer/> </bar:somePropertyExpectingIDataRenderer> </foo:MyComponent> Then when createChildren() is called, that same property isn't null. Is this supposed to happen and if so, what other workarounds should I consider?

  In PHP you can create form elements with names like: category[1] category[2] or even category[junk] category[test] When the form is posted, category is automatically turned into a nice dictionary like: category[1] => "the input value", category[2] => "the other input value" Is there a way to do that in Django? request.POST.getlist isn't quite right, because it simply returns a list, not a dictionary. I need the keys too.

Say function(args) returns an array. Why is $var = function(args)[0]; yelling at me about the square brackets?   I'm currently working on a parser that reads complete LaTeX logs. Most of the log format is, though weird, easy to figure out, but these square brackets are puzzling me. Here's an example from near the end of one of my logs: Overfull \hbox (10.88788pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 40--40 []$[]$ [] [102]) [103] Kapitel 14. (./Thermo-141-GrenzenFundamentalpostulat.tex [104 ]) (./Thermo-142-Mastergleichung.tex [105]) (./Thermo-143-HTheorem.tex [106pdfTeX warning (ext4): destination with the same identifier (name{equation.14.3.3}) ha s been already used, duplicate ignored Can anybody give me a hint what these square brackets mean? I can't see any structure in them. I have the suspicion that lines 2/3 above are some kind of ASCII art representing the box layout, though I know too less about badboxes to justify this or identify the meaning of the single characters. Then, the "[104" etc. seem to correspond to the page numbers, but I am still not seeing the reason why there is sometimes something inbetween the square brackets (like the pdfTeX warning above), and sometimes not.

• Running python batch file that has a path with SPACE character

  The batch file is something like this, I put the python in some directory that has SPACE character in its path. C:\"Documents and Settings"\Administrator\Desktop\bracket\python\python C:\\"Documents and Settings"\\Administrator\\Desktop\\bracket\\[10,20]\\brackettest.py When I run this one, I get this error. C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\bracket\python\python: can't ope n file 'C:\Documents and Settings\\Administrator\\Desktop\\bracket\\[10,20]\\bra ckettest.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\bracket What might be wrong? Wrapping the path doesn't solve this problem. "C:\\Documents and Settings\\Administrator\\Desktop\\bracket\\[10,20]\\brackettest.py" Are the brackets ('[]') cause of the problem? On Mac, python works well with bracket character.
