• Configure OutputCache for ASCX from web.config's cache profiles

  Hello, To configure aspx pages' OutputCache from one place, there is a great tool which is the CacheProfile attribute in <%@ OutputCache % associated with a custom cache profile defined in the web.config : <caching> <outputCacheSettings> <outputCacheProfiles> <add name="myProfile" duration="300" /> </outputCacheProfiles> </outputCacheSettings> </caching> And the line : <%@ OutputCache CacheProfile="myProfile" VaryByParam="None" %> does the job. But how to do the same thing for ascx user controls ? CacheProfile isn't in <%@ OutputCache % :S Is there a workaround ? Thanks.

  What is the difference between configuring a Caching Profile in Web.Config and configuring it in IIS? If you have this in Web.Config <caching> <outputCache enableOutputCache="true" /> <outputCacheSettings> <outputCacheProfiles> <add duration="14800" enabled="true" varyByParam="*" name="AssetCacheProfile" /> </outputCacheProfiles> </outputCacheSettings> </caching> And nothing configured in IIS in the Output Caching, will it work? And what if you add all the extensions I use in Output Caching in IIS, what does that change? On my localhost, it sure does .. and contains a large list of ascx controls. But they don't exist on my live server. So ... what is going on here? Can anyone please help? Oh :) Before someone suggests I create those two folders and even stick a random file in those folders .. and have some random text in those random files .. i've done that and it doesn't seem to work, still :( Please Help !
