• How do I make dashboard widgets active on logon?

  There are a few dashboard widget that are useful even when not going in Dashboard. For example, SVN Notifier sends a Growl notification when commits are made to a repository you want to watch. Or, Delivery Status does the same for status update on tracked packages. The thing is when I log into OS X, those status updates won't happen until the first time I actually enter into Dashboard, so it looks like they are not initialized at startup. How to fix this?

• Excel - create a list from each cell of a sheet range

  I have a bunch of sheets in my workbook, in each one there is an email address at B6. What I want to do is to make a list with all the email addresses. I'm familiar with sheet range (all my sheets are between a sheet "first" and a sheet "last"), so I can do something like first:last!B6 to refer to the range. But what is the formula?

• Registry in .NET: DeleteSubKeyTree says the subkey does not exists, but hey, it does!

  Hi, Trying to delete a subkey tree: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.hdr. .hdr subkey has one subkey, no values. So I use this code: RegistryKey FileExts = Registry.CurrentUser.CreateSubKey("SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\FileExts"); RegistryKey faulty = FileExts.OpenSubKey(".hdr"); Debug.Assert (faulty != null && faulty.SubKeyCount != 0); faulty.Close(); FileExts.DeleteSubKeyTree(".hdr"); And I get the ArgumentException with message "Cannot delete a subkey tree because the subkey does not exist." WTF? I checked and asserted it did exist?

• How to associate a file extension to a program without making it the default program

  I'm deploying a small conversion tool on some systems, and want the users to be able to run it from the right click Open with menu. But I don't want to change the default program users have associated to this file type. It is easy to associate a file extension/type to a program, but how to do it without changing the default program?
