• CommunityEngine + TinyMCE + Safari or Chrome + My server sometimes generate corrupted code

  Hello All, I'm using Community engine. It is really a great job But I encountered a strange phenomenon I couldn't solve it. This problem happens only when I open any page contains tinymce by using safari or chrome browsers. It shows me a corrupted code and the page is damaged. kindly check the following photo: http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/5880/screenshot20100111at115.png notice "Delete this user" link then check the source code. There is a weird code injecting itself in the original code. The weird code is tinymce thing: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ce.mysite.net/plugin_assets/ community_engine/javascripts/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/langs/en.js? 1260693864"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ce.mysite.net/plugin_assets/ community_engine/javascripts/tiny_mce/plugins/curblyadvimage/langs/ en.js?1260693864"></script> it injected between onclick=" and if (confirm.... I deployed CE on my laptop and my server. I didn't see this problem locally but sometimes (not always) this problem appears on my server. I'm sure that I installed all required gems on the server This bug is annoyed me and I wish to help me. Thanks

• Error while trying to install Community Engine: NameError - "Undefined local variable or method 'map

  I'm trying to install Community Engine using the instructions here: http://github.com/bborn/communityengine At first I thought it might be because I had Rails 2.3.5 and desert 0.5.3 which were higher versions than what was mentioned on the installation site. However moving to rails 2.3.4 and desert 0.5.2 did not work. • Solution for social network + marketplace with multiple sellers?

  I want to build a social network, with some of the users being able to put up some stuff up for sale. So basically, a social network + multiple sellers e-commerce. What is the best technology solution for that? I was thinking of going Rails route, using CommunityEngine and ActiveMerchant. Another option is going PHP and using something like X-Cart, which already has multiple sellers interface. Any recommendations? Thanks!

• Community "Groups" feature (Ruby on Rails)

  Are there any good examples/plugins that enable users to create groups within a community application. For example, I would like to create a Group class and add it to something like Community Engine (http://communityengine.org/). Essentially, users need to be able to create and manage groups that other users can join (much like Facebook Pages). Thanks!

• Migrate existing ROR app to GAE

  I have managed to run a basic rails app1 on App Engine using: http://gist.github.com/268192 So, on my basic app2, I install CE, which works fine on local machine. (communityengine.org) But, when I follow the same steps on my actual app2, where community_engine plugin is installed and all the gems are frozen, the app engine installer script asks for to over write various files like boot.rb, routes.rb, which I don't allow. So, as expected, when I publish the rails + ce app to GAE, it's not published and it also screws the local installation of CE on app2. So, the problem is obvious, CE uses ActiveRecord, and GAE uses DataMapper. So, my question can also be rephrased as: Can we migrate an existing ROR App using Active Record to GAE which uses DataMapper? PS: This is my first project on ROR and GAE.
