  • Resize C# WinForm, with no border?

    Hello. Does anyone know how I can resize a winform when it has no border. I don't want the default border that Windows has, so I changed the property "FormBorderStyle" to "None". This removed the border, although now it can't be resized. I've figured out how to move the form around, I just need to know how to resize it. Thanks for the help.

  • Using chilkat to extract RAR files with progress bar?

    Hello. Does anyone know how to show the progress of archives extracting, when using chilkat? I already have a progress bar called "progressBar1" on my form. At the moment the whole program freezes when extraction is started. Maybe have another thread? I'm using this code: Chilkat.Rar rar = new Chilkat.Rar(); bool success; success = rar.Open("abc123.rar"); if (success != true) { MessageBox.Show(rar.LastErrorText); return; } success = rar.Unrar("c:/temp/unrarDest/"); if (success != true) { MessageBox.Show(rar.LastErrorText); } else { MessageBox.Show("Success."); } If anyone has any alternative ways to extract .rar files, it would be great to know.     Hello. Can anyone tell me how to hook/overlay a DirectX game in C#? I've tried getting a fullscreen C# window to overlap a game, however it wont. After researching a little, I found out that I need to hook the game and then display the C# window. Can anyone explain how I would do this? Would I be able to display a C# form over a DirectX game?

    Hello. Does anyone know how can I edit a subitem on a listView? I've tried using this: ListView1.SelectedItems[0].SubItems[1].Text = "Hello?"; But that doesn't work. I get the error "InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'index'". I've got two columns on the listview, so I figured the index of [1] would be the subitem. Thanks for the help!

    Hello. How can I resize the height of a ListView depending on how many items are in that ListView? I'm trying to get the text of an item which is clicked, however whenever the user clicks on a space which has no item, there's an error. The exact error is: InvalidArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'index'. Parameter name: index. I'm using the code: label14.Text = myListView1.SelectedItems[0].Text.ToString(); I figured that removing the space below the items will solve this problem. Thanks!

    Hello. Does anyone know how I can create a screen overflow while a program is running? Mainly while a game is running. If anyone has used xFire or Steam, these use this feature. I've created a winform which starts the game/program and then minimizes. Could the overflow be created in the same winform? Thanks for the help! :)

    Is it possible to change the style of a WinForm border? I know that if the border is removed, it takes away the functionality to resize the program. Therefore is there a way to change the style of it? At the moment, I've removed the text from the border, set the "FormBorderStyle" to "SizableToolWindow" and set the "ControlBox" to false.     Hello. I would like to keep an item selected, on a ListView, when the user clicks on a space which has no item. For example, the space below the items, but still on the ListView component. I've change the ListView property "HideSelection" to false, but that only works when the focus is changed to another component; not when the user clicks on the ListView itself. Thanks!

    Hello. Can anyone tell me how to create a custom installer to 'install' games. I say custom meaning I don't want the user to have the option where the game is installed. I want it to be a straight forward process, maybe with just one loading bar. The program I'm developing is a 'center' for game playing, which includes a community and other features, such as a timer that records how long a game is played for. I just thought that installing each game in one place, with a simple installer would make the program easier to use. It also will allow me to do other features as the games will all be installed in one place. No need for the user to specify where the game is installed. Would this be possible? Thanks.

    Hello. Can anyone tell me how to insert special characters into a MySQL database? I've made a PHP script which is meant to insert some words into a database, although if the word contains a ' then it wont be inserted. I can insert the special characters fine when using PHPmyAdmin, but it just doesn't work when inserting them via PHP. Could it be that PHP is changing the special characters into something else? If so, is there a way to make them insert properly? Thanks!

    Hello. I've made a page which should show a div when the user clicks on a input text box. The div will contain more information about the required input, etc. The page works fine on FireFox and the div shows, but when using IE the div just doesn't show. It seems like I've tried everything and nothing has worked so far. This is the page. Maybe you could look at the source and see what I'm doing wrong?
