• How to "roll up" the window?

  After just having upgraded to 11.10, I wonder how i can change what happens when I double click a window title bar. I had it configured to roll up (I cannot remember the phrase in English, in German it was "einrollen", i guess) which was found in the appearence menu as far as a I remember. The solution proposed at What happened to "Roll up" option in Preferences/Window/Title bar Action? doesnt work for me insofar as toggle-shade minimizes the window with a roll-up animation, and shade alone will maximize the window after rolling it up. Anyone have a clue what i can do? Thx! Dominik

I'm trying to inject a EJB within my RESTful Service (RESTEasy) via Annotations. public class MyServelet implements MyServeletInterface { ... @EJB MyBean mybean; ... } Unfortunately there is no compilation or AS error, the variable "mybean" is just null and I get a NullPointerException when I try to use it. What I'm doing wrong? Here are some side-informations about my architecture: JBoss 4.2.2.GA Java version: 1.5.0_17 local MDB-Project remote EJB-Project WAR Project with the RESTful Service which uses the remote EJB and sends messages to the local MDB-Project Thanks in advance! br Dominik p.s: everything is working fine when I use normal context lookup.

  Hey, I would like to use Android for Model-Driven-Software-Development. For this, I need to locate the Android Model in the SDK. I already searched a while for it, but were not able to find it. Has anyone an idea where it could be? Is it possible, that it is the AndroidManifest.xml-File in the folder android-sdk-\platforms\android-x\android.jar? After unpacking this file, I am not able to open that file correctly on Windows XP, because a lot of characters have the wrong character set. • JNI_CreateJavaVM: Buffer overrun if I throw an exception in case of failure

  Hi, In a C++ project, I use the JNI invocation API to launch a JVM. I've done a little wrapper arount the JVM so I can use all the needed parts in a OO fashion. So far that works great. Now, if the JVM does not start (JNI_CreateJavaVM returns a value < 0) I'd like to raise an exception within my C++ code.But if I throw an exception after JNI_CreateJavaVM, I get a buffer overrun. If I raise the exception without the JNI_CreateJavaVM call, it works as expected. Does anyone have a clue on what the issue could be here? Or how to debug this? Environment: Windows, Visual Studio 2008 JDK: jrockit27.6jdk16005, but happens with SUN stock one as well Cheers Dominik

• Presenting UIModalViews in Landscap mode

  Hello, I'm trying to present some UIModalFormSheets in a my iPad application. It's working without any problems, except one thing: When I have my iPad in landscape mode my modal form sheet is moving to the center of the screen and THEN rotates into the appropiate angle. All I want is to present the modal form sheet in the right angle according to the view mode (portrait or landscape), BEFORE it is displayed, so that the user doesn't see this rotation. I have tried all the modes for modalTransitionStyle and modalPresentationStyle, but nothing seems to prevent the modal form sheet from rotating after it is displayed. This is what I'm doing: NewFavouriteSheet *newFavouriteSheet = [[NewFavouriteSheet alloc] initWithNibName:@"NewFavouriteSheet" bundle:nil]; newFavouriteSheet.modalPresentationStyle = UIModalPresentationFormSheet; [self presentModalViewController:newFavouriteSheet animated:NO]; Does anyone has a suggestion on how to show the modal view in a correct way?   I'm using Ubuntu as the only operating system since two years. In the first Ubuntu versions I had seen my BIOS screen and the boot screens. Actually im using Ubuntu 12.04 and my screen stays black until Ubuntu is started (both screens are missing). I guess this situation appeared the first time in Ubuntu 11 (not sure). I searched via google and tried the popular activities but was not able to fix my issue. I opened the laptop and checked all connections. I'm using boot option nomodeset. I had a look through many many web pages. I don't know how to continue and hope somebody could be helpful.   I recently installed a plug-in for Totem movie player. This allows the app to receive and play AirPlay-streamed video from iphone to totem player: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/01/airplay-video-playback-comes-to-totem Actually this works fine with youtube videos. But when it comes to other apps in iPhone (such as Digital TV App) the streaming does not work. In the app I can choose Totem Player, but Totem Player itself stays empty, i.e. nothing will be streamed. As mentioned choosing Totem Player for youtube video works fine. Do you guys have any idea what makes the difference that it works only for youtube?

  I am currently writing my Master's Thesis on maintainability of a web application. I found some methods like the "Maintainability Index" by Coleman et.al. or the "Software Maintainability Index" by Muthanna et.al. For both of them one needs to calculate the cyclomatic complexity. So my question is: Is it possible to measure the cyclomatic complexity of a web application? In my opinion there are three parts to a web application: Server code (PHP, C#, Python, Perl, etc.) Client code (JavaScript) HTML (links and forms as operators, GET-parameters and form fields as operands!?) What do you think? Is there another point of view on the complexity of web application? Did I miss something?

• Does the google crawler really guess URL patterns and index pages that were never linked against?

  I'm experiencing problems with indexed pages which were (probably) never linked to. Here's the setup: Data-Server: Application with RESTful interface which provides the data Website A: Provides the data of (1) at http://website-a.example.com/?id=RESOURCE_ID Website B: Provides the data of (1) at http://website-b.example.com/?id=OTHER_RESOURCE_ID So the whole, non-private data is stored on (1) and the websites (2) and (3) can fetch and display this data, which is a representation of the data with additional cross-linking between those. In fact, the URL /?id=1 of website-a points to the same resource as /?id=1 of website-b. However, the resource id:1 is useless at website-b. Unfortunately, the google index for website-b now contains several links of resources belonging to website-a and vice versa. I "heard" that the google crawler tries to determine the URL-pattern (which makes sense for deciding which page should go into the index and which not) and furthermore guesses other URLs by trying different values (like "I know that id 1 exists, let's try 2, 3, 4, ..."). Is there any evidence that the google crawler really behaves that way (which I doubt). My guess is that the google crawler submitted a HTML-Form and somehow got links to those unwanted resources. I found some similar posted questions about that, including "Google webmaster central: indexing and posting false pages" [link removed] however, none of those pages give an evidence.

• Migration of egroupware from one Ubuntu server to another

  I am new to server administration and have been attempting to migrate from one Ubuntu server to another for 4 days now. I am having a problem with migration of egroupware settings. Specifically, I need to find where knowledgebase saves the files on the local machine. I have the database set correctly and its using the previous settings. However, articles in knowledgebase are not showing images associated with them. I have tried everything to find the file on the old server that stores data files uploaded to the knowlegebase but I cannot. If there is another way to import these files, or if someone knows where they are saved, I would really appreciate the help. -Chris

• Change/Deactivate the shell for an amount of users on SUSE Enterprise Server

  I have a SUSE Server to which ~300 users are connecting. About 100 of them have to be deactivated. I think it would be nice to change their shell to /bin/false either with chsh or with usermod. Do I have to type every command per line, or can I fill out a list of users which can be read from the script? I should mention that all of the 100 users have the same ending in their username. Can I work with wildcards here? e.g. usermod -s /bin/fish *ftpuser chsh -s /sbin/nologin *ftpuser

• Add linux user with restricted access

  I need to create a user on linux with access rights only to one folder. Background: I have installed git on my virtual server (Debian). I also created a user for the repository. There is a lot of private data on the server. But all folders have read-access for others, because it's needed for the applications which run on the server. So the git-user can see all the data. I would like to restrict the git user only to the folder where the repository is installed. I also tried ACL, but it didn't work. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks in advance!

  Hi I have an interface something like this: interface IGenericSetupViewModel<T> I then have a default implemtation of this, something like this class GenericSetupViewModel<T> : IGenericSetupViewModel<T> For some specific classes i have a specific implementation like this: class ContractSetupViewModel : GenericSetupViewModel<Contract> Now i want to make StructureMap return the correct instance, when asking for a ObjectFactory.GetInstance<GenericSetupViewModel<Contract>(); I would like to get ContractSetupViewModel returned, when asking for anything else, i would like to get an instance of GenericSetupViewModel<T> I tried doing this: StructureMap.ObjectFactory.Configure(x => { x.Scan(y => { y.TheCallingAssembly(); y.AddAllTypesOf(typeof(IGenericSetupViewModel<>)); y.ConnectImplementationsToTypesClosing(typeof(IGenericSetupViewModel<>)); }); }); However this results in me always getting a GenericSetupViewModel and never the ContractSetupViewModel. I dont want to have to specify all specific viewmodels so is there anyway i can get this scan to work ?

  Hi there, I am using checkstyle plugin in maven 2. I now want to switch my config file, from the default one to a) an online file, or b) a local file. I tried the following two things, which both didnt work. Any suggestions? A) Local file, which is directly in my project folder next to the pom.xml <plugin> <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId> <artifactId>maven-checkstyle-plugin</artifactId> <configuration> <configLocation>checkstyle.xml</configLocation> </configuration> </plugin> B) Remote file, that is stored on a server <plugin> <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId> <artifactId>maven-checkstyle-plugin</artifactId> <configuration> <configLocation>http://stud.hs-heilbronn.de/~nischmid/development/checkstyle-config.xml</configLocation> </configuration> </plugin> Both cases result in an error like this: [INFO] An error has occurred in Checkstyle report generation. Embedded error: Failed during checkstyle execution Could not find resource 'file:checkstyle.xml'. Any help would be appreciated!
