However, I get System.Windows.Data Error: 4 : Cannot find source for binding with reference 'ElementName=root'. BindingExpression:Path=RemoveItemCmd; DataItem=null; target element is 'MenuItem' (Name='miRemove'); target property is 'Command' (type 'ICommand') System.Windows.Data Error: 4 : Cannot find source for binding with reference 'ElementName=root'. BindingExpression:Path=GetItemPropertiesCmd; DataItem=null; target element is 'MenuItem' (Name=''); target property is 'Command' (type 'ICommand') when UserControl is constructed. Why is this and how do I resolve?

  • DataContractSerializer KnownType attribute not being respected?

    - by e28Makaveli
    I have a class that is decorated with a KnownType attribute with a type of the class. Is this not allowed? [KnownType(typeof(Occ600UIConfig))] public class Occ600UIConfig { } If so, why is the DCS throwing the following exception? {"Error in line 1 position 387. Element 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/Arrays:Value' contains data of the 'http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/OCC600.Infrastructure.Dictionary.BusinessEntities:Occ600UIConfig' data contract. The deserializer has no knowledge of any type that maps to this contract. Add the type corresponding to 'Occ600UIConfig' to the list of known types - for example, by using the KnownTypeAttribute attribute or by adding it to the list of known types passed to DataContractSerializer."}

  • WPF, getting two way binding to work on custom control

    - by e28Makaveli
    Two way binding does not work on my custom control with the following internals: public partial class ColorInputControl { public ColorInputControl() { InitializeComponent(); colorPicker.AddHandler(ColorPicker.SelectedColorChangedEvent, new RoutedPropertyChangedEventHandler( SelectedColorChanged));; colorPicker.AddHandler(ColorPicker.CancelEvent, new RoutedPropertyChangedEventHandler(OnCancel)); } public static readonly DependencyProperty SelectedColorProperty = DependencyProperty.Register ("SelectedColor", typeof(Color), typeof(ColorInputControl), new PropertyMetadata(Colors.Transparent, null)); public Color SelectedColor { get { return (Color)GetValue(SelectedColorProperty); //return colorPicker.SelectedColor; } set { SetValue(SelectedColorProperty, value); colorPicker.SelectedColor = value; } } private void SelectedColorChanged(object sender, RoutedPropertyChangedEventArgs<Color> e) { SetValue(SelectedColorProperty, colorPicker.SelectedColor); } } SelectedColor is being bound to a property that fires INotifyPropertyChanged event control when it changes. However, I cannot get two way binding to work. Changes from the UI are pesisted to the data source. However, changes originating from the data source are not reflected on the UI. What did I miss? TIA.

  • DataContractSerializer sensitive to order of XML??

    - by e28Makaveli
    I have the following serialized XML: DataDescriptor <d5p1:TimePastToInitializeData > <d5p1:Hours>2</d5p1:Hours> <d5p1:Minutes>10</d5p1:Minutes> <d5p1:Seconds>5</d5p1:Seconds> </d5p1:TimePastToInitializeData> <d5p1:PollRate > <d5p1:Hours>2</d5p1:Hours> <d5p1:Minutes>10</d5p1:Minutes> <d5p1:Seconds>5</d5p1:Seconds> </d5p1:PollRate> </Value> </KeyValueOfstringanyType> With this order, the PollRate property is not constructed and the resulting deserialized object has a null value for this field. If, however, I change the order as follows: DataDescriptor <d5p1:PollRate > <d5p1:Hours>2</d5p1:Hours> <d5p1:Minutes>10</d5p1:Minutes> <d5p1:Seconds>5</d5p1:Seconds> </d5p1:PollRate> <d5p1:TimePastToInitializeData > <d5p1:Hours>2</d5p1:Hours> <d5p1:Minutes>10</d5p1:Minutes> <d5p1:Seconds>5</d5p1:Seconds> </d5p1:TimePastToInitializeData> </Value> </KeyValueOfstringanyType> both properties PollRate and TimePastToInitializeData are constructed and initialized properly. public class DataDescriptor { RefreshRate pastTime; [DataMember] public RefreshRate TimePastToInitializeData { get; set; } RefreshRate pollRate; [DataMember] public RefreshRate PollRate { get; set; } [OnDeserializing] void Initialize(StreamingContext c) { // should I do this?? } } And RefreshRate: [DataContract( Namespace = "http//www.emssatcom.com/occ600")] [Serializable] public class RefreshRate : Observable { public RefreshRate() { } int hours; [DataMember] public int Hours { get; set; } int mins; [DataMember] public int Minutes { get; set; } int secs; [DataMember] public int Seconds { get; set; } int ms; [DataMember] public int MilliSeconds { get; set; } }

  • Visual Studio 2008 resolving wrong reference

    - by e28Makaveli
    In my project file, I have the following entry: <Reference Include="Microsoft.Practices.Unity, Version=1.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35, processorArchitecture=MSIL"> <HintPath>..\..\..\..\Libraries\Microsoft.Practices.Unity.dll</HintPath> </Reference> which in absolute terms translates to: C:\dev\LUT600 2.1.1\OCC600\Libraries Somehow, when I try to compile the project, Visual Studio loads a reference from a totally different path: /reference:"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Enterprise Library 4.1 - October 2008\Bin\Microsoft.Practices.Unity.dll. How it resolves to this location is a complete mystery as this DLL is not referenced anywhere in this project. I have set Specific Verion to true but it still resolves the reference from this location. Any ideas? TIA. Klaus

  • WPF Show wait cursor before application fully loads

    - by e28Makaveli
    I want to show the wait cursor before my WPF application, composed using CAL, fully loads. In the constructor of the main window, I have the following code: public MainWindow([Dependency] IUnityContainer container) { InitializeComponent(); Cursor = System.Windows.Input.Cursors.Wait; Mouse.OverrideCursor = System.Windows.Input.Cursors.Wait; ForceCursor = true; //this.Cursor = System.Windows.Input.Cursors.AppStarting; // event subscriptions PresenterBase.EventAggregate.GetEvent<ModulesLoadedEvent>().Subscribe(OnModulesLoaded); } After all modules have been loaded, the following handler is invoked: private void OnModulesLoaded(EventArgs e) { allModulesLoaded = true; Mouse.OverrideCursor = null; Cursor = System.Windows.Input.Cursors.Arrow; } Problem is, I do not see this wait cursor. What I am missing here? FWIW, I got a hint from this post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2078766/showing-the-wait-cursor TIA.
