  In XP I think I used to be able to do this. In the shell replacement XYplorer I can do this. In the file search utility called Everything (from voidtools) I can do this. So what is the trick in Windows 7 and why do I even need a trick.

• I accidentally discarded a recovered openoffice file but I desperately need it.

  I have lost 4 hours of painstaking work. My computer crashed. When I reopened the file there were so many other things going on that I think I inadvertently discarded a recovered version of the file. I do not know for sure. Is there anyway I can repeat the recovery process?
