Blackberry Security Wipe

What does a Blackberry "Security Wipe" (Options Security Options Security Wipe "emails, Contacts, etc") do?
a) If I have an Enterprise Activation with my employer will a security wipe remove this?
b) Will my phone still ring when my number is called or do I have to re-activate with my carrier?
