• How to open semicolon delimited CSV-files in US-version of Excel

  When I double-click on a .csv file, it is opened in Excel. The csv-files have columns delimited with semicolons (not commas, but also a valid format). Using a German Windows/Excel setup, the opened file is displayed correctly, the columns are separated where the semicolons existed in the csv-file. But when I do the same on an (US-) English Windows/Excel setup, only one column is imported, showing the whole data including the semicolons in the first column. (I don't have an English setup available for tests, users have reported the behavior) I tried to change the list separator value in Windows regional settings, but that didn't change anything. What can I do to be able to double-click-open those CSV-files on an English setup? EDIT: It seems to be the best solution not to rely on CSV-files in this case. I was hoping that there is some formatting for CSV-files that makes it possible to use them internationally. The best solution seems that I'll switch to creating XLS-files. • DVI problem with LG L204WT

  I have a LG L204WT which has VGA and DVI connectors. Until recently, I have used the monitor via VGA, but now I have upgraded the graphics board and switched to DVI. The problem is that each time after the computer starts, the monitor either doesn't show anything (black screen, but doesn't go into standby) or the picture is distorted. I then switch the monitor off and on several times, and at some point it starts correctly and then I can work as usual. This only happens on startup. It is one out of 3 monitors, the other two work fine. It seems to me as if the monitor is not able to synchronize on the DVI signal and either shows a distorted picture or nothing at all. There are no settings in the monitor setup that would change anything. What could be the problem?

• Why do some actions not work with Remote Desktop?

  I usually connect to other PCs in the same building using Remote Desktop, which works great. For some reason, some actions cannot be performed through Remote Desktop. These are, for example: Installation of certain software Accessing the directory of a DVD (that is inserted at the remote computers drive) several other tasks that just "don't react or start", unless you do the same thing without RDP All these actions work with any other remote access tool, like VNC, Teamviewer, LogMeIn, etc. My question is: What is the difference when I use a computer through RDP instead of directly? Is there a list of prohibited actions available so that one could know upfront if something can be done with RDP or not?

• Is Code Completion speed improved in Delphi 2010?

  I am working with Delphi 2009 Pro and just tried to find out why code completion is so slow in my setup. Whenever code completion is invoked, the IDE locks up for up to 30s, which really interrupts any workflow. When working with BDS 2006, code completion was incredibly fast compared to Delphi 2009. After reading this post it seems to be normal for Delphi 2009, but just turning off the automatic code completion is not anything I want to do. My question is: If I switch to Delphi 2010, will I have the same slow speed for code completion or was it improved to a point to be usable?

• Delphi for PHP - location of source

  I just installed Delphi for PHP to get an idea on how it works and have created a simple app with a button that puts a text into a listbox when it is clicked. The app works if I copy all required files to my webserver and run it from there. It also works if I save the project in the standard path: "c:\documents and settings\username\My Documents\Delphi for PHP Projects" But if I save the project in another directory, the ButtonClick event is not fired when the application runs from there. I've put a breakpoint in the event to see if it stops there but it doesn't. The OnShow event of the form works as usual. It really seems to be the path where the project is located to make it either work or not. As I said, I have no experience with Delphi for PHP so far, it is probably just a simple solution that I don't see...

How do I need to declare the property "Values" so that MyObj.Values behaves exactly as if I would access MyObj.FObjList.Values?
