  I have a 2008 reporting services server installed on windows 2003 server. I am trying to allow anonymous access to the report builder folder so that my users do not have to select the remember password option when they login, if they are wanting to use the report builder. All I have found so far is that I should be able to do this with the IIS manager, but that only seems to work for reporting services 2005. Reporting services 2008 does not show up in the IIS manager, enabling anonymous access seems to be hidden somewhere else. How do I enable anonymous access to report builder in reporting services 2008?

• Win7 MCE seems unable to play ripped DVDs

  I'm running Windows 7 and am using mymovies.dk to rip the dvds to my harddrive. However, playback isn't watchable as the picture is very stuttery and blocky, only shots that show the same image for a few seconds get shown properly. The dvd's are ripped as the straight folder structure and if played in XBMC are fine. I've tried installing both the cccp-project.net and latest div-x codecs, but that doesn't seem to have helped. I'd like to stick with MCE as it has a high WAF (wife acceptance factor). Any suggestions?

• How can I get compilation failures if objectdatasource's are not properly wired up?

  I have a large brown field webforms app that uses ObjectDatasource controls all over the place, which makes refactoring more difficult than it should be. Is there a way to get a comile-time failures if an object or method is renamed which would cause the ObjectDataSource no longer work? In MVC there is the notion of compiling views, is there a parallel to this for webforms?

• Prevent multiple logons for a single user in ASP .Net

  I am looking at how best to prevent a single user account logging on multiple times in a webforms application. I know that MembershipUser.IsOnline exists, but I've read a few forum and blog entries suggesting that this can be unreliable, particularly in scenarios where a user closes a browser (without logging out) and attempts to logon with a different machine or browser. I looked at implementing a last past the post type system; when a user logs on older users are simply kicked off. It seems that FormsAuthentication.Signout() only works for the current user. Am I missing a trick, is there a better way to prevent the same username logging on from multiple different locations?

• Design time error - multiple controls with the same Id

  I'm using VS 2008, I have a very simple page that has a bunch of uniquely named controls. When I try to view it in design mode I get the following error: Error Rendering Control - Label12 An unhanded exception has occurred. Multiple controls with the same ID 'Label1' were found. FindControl requires that controls have unique IDs I've checked the HTML and the designer file and I can only see one control called Label1. What might be causing this? • ASP .Net User Roles - ordering for a drop down.

  We are using the standard aspnet security features, we have need to set the order of the roles, purely for display purposes. We could just have a sequence number onto the end of the aspnet_roles table, but that feels kinds of hacky to me. Also if in future versions of asp the security get changed we will be in trouble. Is there a better way to do this that won't make me loose sleep each time a new version is pushed out?

  I'm looking to compare two varchars in SQL, one would be something like Cafe and the other Café is there a way in SQL that will allow the two values to be compared. For instance: SELECT * FROM Venue WHERE Name Like '%cafe%' So if there is a venue with the name Big Bobs Café Extraordinaire it would be included in the result set?
