  • Is it possible to install ffmpeg and x264 on a Synology Diskstation 209?

    - by Kieran Benton
Hi, Complete linux novice here! :) I'm trying to get my brilliant DS209 NAS box to do some transcoding for me of a few AVI videos to a format suitable for my Apply iTouch - yes I could do it with another machine and Handbrake but it would be really useful to offload some of this to the NAS to do overnight. I've managed to install ipkg onto my DS209 NAS box and have played around with installing some packages (binutils, mono, bash etc). I've even managed to install ffmpeg from ipkg and put together the correct command line profile to do the encoding as a .sh file: time ffmpeg -y -i $1 -f mp4 -title $2 -vcodec libx264 -level 21 -s 426×320 -b 512k -bt 512k -bufsize 4M -maxrate 4M -g 250 -coder 0 -threads 0 -acodec libfaac -ac 2 -ab 64k $3 However running this I get a missing dependency on libx264. I've tried building this from the latest source in git, but I get errors during the make process that I just don't understand (way out of my depth). encoder/set.c: In function 'x264_sei_version_write': encoder/set.c:491: error: 'X264_VERSION' undeclared (first use in this function) encoder/set.c:491: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once encoder/set.c:491: error: for each function it appears in.) make: *** [encoder/set.o] Error 1 Can anyone else try building it or give me a pointer as to what I can do to get this going? Its been a good learning experience so far! Thanks.

  • Installing FFMPEG-PHP on Qnap Nas (TS-410), PHPIZE error

    - by Dino
I have been trying to install ffmpeg-php on my qnap nas (ts-410) without success. ? Basically I have installed the QPKG Optware, and using the plugin installed php-dev, autoconf, m4, php-gd, and perl. After that I downloaded ffmpeg-0.6.0.tbz2 (from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffmpeg-php/files/ffmpeg-php/0.6.0/ffmpeg-php-0.6.0.tbz2/download) to the Public folder, and extracted the file (tar -xjf ffmpeg-0.6.0.tbz2) Then go to the folder: cd ffmpeg-0.6.0 Finally I run: phpize which is where the process fails I get the following error: configure.in:3: warning: prefer named diversions Can anyone advice how to successfully install ffmpeg-php on my nas? Ps. I am new to linux so easy step guide would be appreciated, or even better if a QPKG / IPKG becomes available ? !!!! Thanks Dean

  • maven-assembly-plugin and ar archives

    - by kayahr
In my maven project I want to assemble an ipkg file (This is like a Debian Package but for embedded systems). For this I need to create AR archives with the assembly plugin. In the plugin documentation I found this: "and any other format that the ArchiveManager has been configured for". But I can't find out how to "configure" the "ArchiveManager". How can I do this? Or better: Maybe someone already did this and I can use an already existing plugin?

  • Setting up vncserver on OpenSolaris zone

    - by k.park
I am running OpenSolaris 5.10 and set up a sparse zone(inherits most of bin directories from global zone). I ended up copying many etc and var files from global zone, eventually most of the stuff(firefox, gvim, etc.) working through ssh via X11. However, I am having problems setting up vncserver on the zone. This is what I get if I tried to start the vncserver. vncext: VNC extension running! vncext: Listening for VNC connections on port 5911 vncext: created VNC server for screen 0 Fatal server error: could not open default font 'fixed' _X11TransNAMEDOpenClient: Cannot open /tmp/.X11-pipe/X11 for NAMED connection _X11TransOpen: transport open failed for local/%zone%:11 xsetroot: unable to open display '%zone%:11' _X11TransNAMEDOpenClient: Cannot open /tmp/.X11-pipe/X11 for NAMED connection _X11TransOpen: transport open failed for local/%zone%:11 _X11TransNAMEDOpenClient: Cannot open /tmp/.X11-pipe/X11 for NAMED connection _X11TransOpen: transport open failed for local/%zone%:11 _X11TransNAMEDOpenClient: Cannot open /tmp/.X11-pipe/X11 for NAMED connection _X11TransOpen: transport open failed for local/%zone%:11 vncconfig: unable to open display "%zone%:11" twm: unable to open display "%zone%:11" xterm Xt error: Can't open display: %zone%:11 I already chmoded /tmp/.X11-pipe with 777, and there is no pipe in /tmp/.X11-pipe or /tmp/.X11-unix directory. • psybnc on nas: ncurses problem

    - by holms
Trying to get compile psybnc on NAS. ipkg is default package manager in here. I've installed ncurses already, it's in /opt/lib (libncurses.so) [\w] # ls /opt/lib | grep ncurses libncurses.so libncurses.so.5 libncurses.so.5.7 libncursesw.so libncursesw.so.5 libncursesw.so.5.7 [\w] # file libncurses.so.5.7 libncurses.so.5.7: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, ARM, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, stripped I added this path to /etc/profile [\w] # echo $PATH /bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/opt/bin:/opt/sbin:/opt/lib So trying to make menuconfig gives me this error [\w] # make menuconfig Initializing Menu-Configuration [*] Running Conversion Tool for older psyBNC Data. Using existent configuration File. [*] Running Autoconfig. System: Linux Socket Libs: Internal. Environment: Internal. Time-Headers: in time.h and sys/time.h Byte order: Big Endian. IPv6-Support: Yes, general support. But no interface configured. async-DNS-Support: Yes. SSL-Support: No openssl found. Get openssl at www.openssl.org Creating Makefile [*] Creating Menu, please wait. This needs the ncurses library. If it is not available, menuconf wont work. If you are using curses, use make menuconfig-curses instead. make: *** [menuconfig] Error 1 Same goes for make menuconfig-curses [\w] # make menuconfig-curses Initializing Menu-Configuration using Curses [*] Running Conversion Tool for older psyBNC Data. Using existent configuration File. [*] Running Autoconfig. System: Linux Socket Libs: Internal. Environment: Internal. Time-Headers: in time.h and sys/time.h Byte order: Big Endian. IPv6-Support: Yes, general support. But no interface configured. async-DNS-Support: Yes. SSL-Support: No openssl found. Get openssl at www.openssl.org Creating Makefile [*] Creating Menu, please wait. This needs the curses library. If it is not available, menuconf wont work. make: *** [menuconfig-curses] Error 1 Psybnc compiled ok, just wanna work with menuconfig instead of configuration file.
