• UISearchBar Above Navigation Bar

  Hi, All the applications I have ever seen, that use UINavigationBars, have the UINavigationBar right at the top of the app. If you want to use a UISearchBar then it's usually in the 'header' of the UITableView such as this... What I would like to do is to put a UISearchBar object above/outside of the UINavigationBar/Controller, but i've been having some problems doing this. Firstly, is what I want to achieve even possible? What would the easiest way to do this be? Starting with the navigation based application seems to make the navigationbar/view un-resizeable! • Simply if Statement for checking co-ordinate square.

  I have an UIImageView and taking the raw touch input. I need to check if a touch is within a certain set of squares. At the moment... I have this if statement.... if(46 < touchedAt.x && touchedAt.x < 124 && 18 < touchedAt.y && touchedAt.y < 75) but I have tried to simplify it to this one... if(46 < touchedAt.x < 124 && 18 < touchedAt.y < 75) It didn't work. Is it possible to simplify like this or am I stuck with the slightly lengthier version at the top? Is there a reason why the types of comparisons in the bottom if don't work? Many Thanks.

• Reading Ontology with Jena, feeding it with RDF triples, and producing correct RDF string output.

  Hi, I have an ontology, which I read in with Jena to help me scrape some RDFa triples from a website. I don't currently store these triples in a Jena model, but that is fairly straight forward to do, its on my to do next list. The area I am struggling with, though, is to get Jena to output correct RDF for the ontology I have. The ontology uses Owl and RDFS definitions, but when I pass some example triples into the model, they don't appear correctly. Almost as if it doesn't know anything about the ontology. The output is, however, still valid RDF, just it's not coming out in the form I was hoping for. Am I correct in thinking that Jena should be able to produce well written RDF (not just valid) about the triples I have collected, based on the ontology or does this out stretch what it is capable of? Many thanks for any input.

• Magento Design Patterns

  Magento, IMHO, represents a PHP system that is built on well thought-out coding principles - reuseable design patterns being one of them. In terms of an example of a PHP system, I think it can be considered pretty cutting edge and therefore worth considering from an architectural point of view. As I understand it, there are many design patterns that are available to the OOP developer. Seeing such patterns being put to use in an open-source system such as Magento allows a developer to view examples of such patterns in real use and in situ, rather than in examples that can sometimes be rather achedemic, and even a little misleading. As such, I am wondering what patterns, other than the ones I have listed below, Magento programmers have used when developing for Magento. As a note, I understand that some of these patterns are in place as a consequence of being built on the Zend Framework, MVC / Front Controller being a couple of them, The obvious ones are: Factory: $product = Mage::getModel('catalog/product'); Singleton: $category = Mage::getSingleton('catalog/session'); Registry: $currentCategory = Mage::registry('current_category');

• Batch adding attribute to attribute sets

  I have a Magento installation with around 60 attribute sets. I need to add a new attribute to each of the attribute sets. There doesn't seem to anyway of doing this in the admin control panel. I am sure I can work it out by manually entering the correct fields into the database, but is there a way of doing this through the API or through the Import / Export profiles? Any suggestions would be gladly received.

• Drupal Feeds showing encoded HTML markup

  Can't figure out why this is happening, but my RSS feeds are showing HTML encoding in the description field that I need to get rid of: For example: <description>&lt;div class=&quot;field field-type-text field-field-location&quot;&gt; I just can't figure out why this would be happening.
