  Hey guys and gals running into a little issue here.. I'm trying to use MySql Connector 6.2.2.0 for membership and role providers.. The issue I'm having is: Unable to initialize provider. Any help resolving this issue will be very much appreciated

• using PHP for "Fluid" design(using viewport resolution)

  I need some opinions on using PHP to make completely "scalable" websites.. For instance, using viewport resolution and resizing images, applying dynamic css styles..... In my mind doing this just add's to the complexity and should not be done, it should be fixed or fluid using strictly css and no server-side languages to generate layouts based on the device size.. I need some input and maybe some philosophy on why using this approach is not used at all..

• datalist itemdatabound event having issues changing item bg color on condition

  Hey guys I'm trying to do something really simple.. I'm checking a data column in my datarow if it's 0 I want the item back color in the datalist to be green if its < 0 remain transparent... if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item || e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.AlternatingItem) { DataRowView drv = (DataRowView)(e.Item.DataItem); int rating = int.Parse(drv.Row["rating"].ToString()); if (rating > 0) { e.Item.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.Green; } } I've stepped through with debugger and it's hitting all the conditions the color just isn't changing.. I know it has to be something simple I just can't see it.

• 398 row datalist slowing down modal open????

  Hey guys I got a weird issue.. I have a datalist that's only loaded on pageload it contains 2 columns a name and date and has 398 rows.. In IE 7 and above(and prob previous version) when I open a modal via a button click it takes almost 5 seconds to open. HOWEVER, if I do not bind this datalist it's MUCH faster.. Also this is only happening in IE, Chrome, Firefox and opera both open the modal instantly with the datalist binded... Josh

• cloning a database with backing up possible?

  I need to write a tool to clone a database, instead of detaching it and copying the .mdf and .ldf, wouldn't it be better to just back it up and restore a newly created db? Is there a way using SQL to create a database from a .bak?
