  • How to get httrack to work with SSL on mac os x? (libssl.so not found)

    - by cwd
    I'm trying to use httrack website copier but the program is running and reporting "no-ssl" (ie: it does not have the capability to copy secure sites). From looking over this thread, it seems that the problem is either when I make & configure the program, or when I run the program, it is not finding the lib-ssl / open-ssl that I have installed. I think it is looking for /var/root/lib/libssl.so.1.0 The user on that forum states that he created a symlink which allowed httrack to find the ssl library in the non-default location. Perhaps that's what I need to do - but where do I create the link from and to? I'm not seeing that I have any libssl.so files installed on my system. Do I need the development package? If so, how do I install that? I used macports to install the current version of openssl that I have. I'm running OS X 10.6. Reserch I have run this command to try and debug: dtruss httrack 2&1 | grep ssl and that outputs this: stat64("libssl.so.1.0\0", 0x7FFF5FBFEE30, 0x7FFF5FBFF470) = -1 Err#2 • Skype can not find libssl.so.10 on 64-bit Fedora Linux

    - by itpastorn
    Skype will not start: $ skype & skype: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.10: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 $ ldd /usr/bin/skype |grep ssl libssl.so.10 => not found OK, missing libssl. Where is it? $ ls -l /usr/lib/libssl.so* lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root ... /usr/lib/libsssl.so -> libcrypto.so.1.0.1e lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root ... /usr/lib/libssl.so.10 -> libssl.so.6 -rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root ... /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.1e lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root ... /usr/lib/libssl.so.6 -> /usr/lib64/libssl.so.10 OK, it points to libssl.so.6 which in turns points to the 64-bit version. $ ls -l /usr/lib64/libssl.so* lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root ... /usr/lib64/libssl.so.10 -> libssl.so.1.0.1e -rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root ... /usr/lib64/libssl.so.1.0.1e lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root ... /usr/lib64/libssl.so.6 -> /usr/lib64/libssl.so.10 So, why is my linkchain not picked up by Skype? (Identical problem exists with libcrypto, BTW).

  • EMSA_PSS_ENCODE with libssl

    - by luiss
    Hi I'm trying to use libssl to get some EMSA_PSS_ENCRODING through the function RSA_padding_add_PKCS1_type1 in libssl, but I can't find nor docs nor solutions, so this is the example code I've written: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <string.h> #include <openssl/rsa.h> #include <openssl/err.h> FILE *error_file; int main() { int lSize; const unsigned char *string1= (unsigned char *)"The pen is on the table"; unsigned char *stringa=NULL; int num = 64; if ((stringa = (unsigned char *)OPENSSL_malloc(num)) == NULL) fprintf(stderr,"OPENSSL_malloc error\n"); fprintf(stdout,"string1 len is %u\n",lSize); if(RSA_padding_add_PKCS1_type_1(stringa,num,string1,lSize) != 1) fprintf(stderr,"Error: RSA_PADDING error\n"); error_file = fopen("libssl.log", "w"); ERR_print_errors_fp(error_file); fclose(error_file); fprintf(stdout,(char *)stringa); fprintf(stdout,"\n"); } The problem is that I get no output in stringa, I think the function RSA_padding_add.. should be initialized, but I can't find how to do it in the few doc at the openssl site. Thanks

  • Upgrading Fedora on Amazon to 12 but getting libssl.so.* & libcrypto.so.* are missing

    I am upgrading to Fedora 12 on a Amazon EC2 using help here: http://www.ioncannon.net/system-administration/894/fedora-12-bootable-root-ebs-on-ec2/ I managed to do a 64 bit instance OK, however facing some problems with a standard one. On the final bit of the install from 11 to 12 I am getting an error: Error: Missing Dependency: libcrypto.so.8 is needed by package httpd-tools-2.2.1.5-1.fc11.1.i586 (installed) Error: Missing Dependency: libssl.so.8 is needed by package httpd-tools-2.2.1.5-1.fc11.1.i586 (installed) This is referenced in the comments from the link above but all it says is: Q: Apache failed, or libssl.so.* & libcrypto.so.* are missing A: These versions are mssing the symlinks they require. Easy fix, go symlink them to the newest versions in /lib However I am afraid I don't know how to do this. If it is any help I tried running the command locate libssl.so and got: /lib/libssl.so.0.9.8b /lib/libssl.so.6

  • debian dependencies (libssl-dev and libncurses5)

    I'm trying to install under RVM the Ruby Enterpise (REE) under debian My debian is squeeze (uname -r) 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5.028stab070.14xen i did try to install ree but it complains that it is missing libssl-dev and libreadline5-dev. I did update my lenny to squeeze, but i didn't update the kernel, since its a production server. The operational system is already updated and upgraded sources.list: deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main deb-src http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main I did try to install it using the following command: apt-get install libssl-dev libreadline5-dev But unfortunately i'm getting the following problems: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libreadline5-dev: Depends: libncurses5-dev but it is not going to be installed libssl-dev: Depends: libssl0.9.8 (= 0.9.8o-4squeeze1) but 0.9.8o-6 is to be installed E: Broken packages I was thinking to reinstall those packages and install again, but it has too many dependencies, and it is a production server, that i would like to know if there is any other way to fix it. Or at least to double check if it is necessary to reinstall both :-/

When I try to run PostgreSQL via CLI, I get: pawel:~ pawel$ psql dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libssl.1.0.0.dylib Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/psql Reason: image not found Trace/BPT trap This is strange because I've installed Postgresql through Homebrew and running brew list confirms that it's there. How would I get psql to work again? Additionally, trying to install the pg gem fails due to an file not found: /opt/local/lib/libssl.1.0.0.dylib error. I need to make Postgres not look in the /opt/local/ directory for this file.

  • Installing Plone on Centos fails: Unable to find libssl or openssl/ssl.h.

    - by paskster
    My dedicated Server has CentOS 5.5. I tried to install Plone, so I basically did: wget launchpad.net/plone/4.0/4.0.2/+download/Plone-4.0.2-UnifiedInstaller.tgz tar xzf Plone-4.0.2-UnifiedInstaller.tgz cd Plone-4.0.2-UnifiedInstaller ./install.sh zeo I ran into the following error: Unable to find libssl or openssl/ssl.h. If you wish to build without SSL support, run install.sh again with --without-ssl flag. Otherwise, install your platform's openssl-dev libraries and headers and try again. After this error I successfully installed openssl: yum install openssl And i tried to install Plone again. But I keep getting the error: "Unable to find libssl or openssl/ssl.h". Anybody an idea what I'missing?

    Application I use requires OpenSSL 0.9.8, which was already installed (0.9.8e to be specific) on my CentOS alongside 1.0.1e which unfortunately is used by default. I tried to change libssl.so.10 symbolic link to point to the older version like so: [mckulpa@nuance-vm ~]$ ldd /usr/bin/openssl /usr/bin/openssl: /usr/lib64/libssl.so.10: no version information available (required by /usr/bin/openssl) linux-vdso.so.1 => (0x00007fff2edff000) libssl.so.10 => /usr/lib64/libssl.so.10 (0x00007f664457c000) libgssapi_krb5.so.2 => /lib64/libgssapi_krb5.so.2 (0x0000003927600000) libkrb5.so.3 => /lib64/libkrb5.so.3 (0x0000003926200000) libcom_err.so.2 => /lib64/libcom_err.so.2 (0x0000003925a00000) libk5crypto.so.3 => /lib64/libk5crypto.so.3 (0x0000003926e00000) libcrypto.so.10 => /usr/lib64/libcrypto.so.10 (0x0000003927200000) libdl.so.2 => /lib64/libdl.so.2 (0x000000391a600000) libz.so.1 => /lib64/libz.so.1 (0x000000391aa00000) libc.so.6 => /lib64/libc.so.6 (0x0000003919e00000) libcrypto.so.6 => /usr/lib64/libcrypto.so.6 (0x00007f664421d000) libkrb5support.so.0 => /lib64/libkrb5support.so.0 (0x0000003925e00000) libkeyutils.so.1 => /lib64/libkeyutils.so.1 (0x0000003926a00000) libresolv.so.2 => /lib64/libresolv.so.2 (0x000000391be00000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib64/libpthread.so.0 (0x000000391a200000) /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x0000003919600000) libselinux.so.1 => /lib64/libselinux.so.1 (0x000000391b600000) [mckulpa@nuance-vm ~]$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=~/libs:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH [mckulpa@nuance-vm ~]$ echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH /home/mckulpa/libs:/usr/local/Nuance/Recognizer_Service/amd64/lib:/usr/local/Nuance/OAM/x86/lib:/usr/local/Nuance/Common/x86/lib:/usr/local/Nuance/Common/amd64/lib [mckulpa@nuance-vm ~]$ ldd /usr/bin/openssl /usr/bin/openssl: /home/mckulpa/libs/libssl.so.10: no version information available (required by /usr/bin/openssl) linux-vdso.so.1 => (0x00007fff91dbc000) libssl.so.10 => /home/mckulpa/libs/libssl.so.10 (0x00007ffe1af50000) libgssapi_krb5.so.2 => /lib64/libgssapi_krb5.so.2 (0x0000003927600000) libkrb5.so.3 => /lib64/libkrb5.so.3 (0x0000003926200000) libcom_err.so.2 => /lib64/libcom_err.so.2 (0x0000003925a00000) libk5crypto.so.3 => /lib64/libk5crypto.so.3 (0x0000003926e00000) libcrypto.so.10 => /usr/lib64/libcrypto.so.10 (0x0000003927200000) libdl.so.2 => /lib64/libdl.so.2 (0x000000391a600000) libz.so.1 => /lib64/libz.so.1 (0x000000391aa00000) libc.so.6 => /lib64/libc.so.6 (0x0000003919e00000) libcrypto.so.6 => /usr/lib64/libcrypto.so.6 (0x00007ffe1abd9000) libkrb5support.so.0 => /lib64/libkrb5support.so.0 (0x0000003925e00000) libkeyutils.so.1 => /lib64/libkeyutils.so.1 (0x0000003926a00000) libresolv.so.2 => /lib64/libresolv.so.2 (0x000000391be00000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib64/libpthread.so.0 (0x000000391a200000) /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x0000003919600000) libselinux.so.1 => /lib64/libselinux.so.1 (0x000000391b600000) [mckulpa@nuance-vm ~]$ ls -l libs total 316 -rwxr-xr-x. 1 mckulpa mckulpa 321224 05-28 14:59 libssl.so.0.9.8e lrwxrwxrwx. 1 mckulpa mckulpa 16 05-28 15:18 libssl.so.10 -> libssl.so.0.9.8e but all I get is a warning and still the 1.0.1e version is printed out: [mckulpa@nuance-vm ~]$ openssl version openssl: /home/mckulpa/libs/libssl.so.10: no version information available (required by openssl) OpenSSL 1.0.1e-fips 11 Feb 2013 Any ideas how to do this properly?

  • puppet duplicate resources and virtual resources

    - by user45097
    Overview Hi just started using Puppet and have been unable to suss something. Problem Because of normalization when I add 2 classes to a node with packages that have the same dependencies it fails. In simple terms have duplicate resources - in this case the package libssl. Note: packages are being held to prevent latest packages being installed. QUestion What's the best practice way to get round this? class ssh { package { 'openssh-server': ensure = installed, require = libssl } package { 'libssl': ensure = installed, } } class apache { package { 'apache': ensure = installed, require = libssl, } package { 'libssl': ensure = installed, } } node server { include apache include openssl-server

  • Recovering from apt-get upgrade gone wrong due to a full disk

    - by Peter
    I was performing an apt-get upgrade on an Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS box that hadn't been updated in a little while and the upgrade failed due to 'No space left on device'. After a little while I worked out space meant inodes and I have freed some up but unfortunately things have been left something askew. I have tried manually installing the old versions of packages mentioned using dpkg -i but that doesn't help. I have tried apt-get upgrade and apt-get -f install to no avail. Results are below. Any ideas how to fix things up? FIXED: Installing the earlier versions again manually via dpkg -i and then apt-get -f install has done the trick. Not sure why this didn't work the first time. • How to tell if a freebsd jail is up to date?

    - by Martin Torhage
    I've set up a "Service Jail" in FreeBSD 8.0 according to the FreeBSD Handbook (http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/jails-application.html). After upgrading the host to the latest patch level and then performed a jail-upgrade, freebsd-fetch still reports that there are files in need of an update in the jail. Is this expected? Then how do I know if a jail is up to date? This is what I've done in more detail: After the initial setup of the jail freebsd-update fetch reported that there were no updates available neither in the host system nor in the jail. This was expected. A while later freebsd-update fetch reported that the following files where in need of an update both in the host and in the jail. /usr/lib/libssl.a /usr/lib/libssl_p.a /usr/lib/libzpool.a /usr/lib32/libssl.a /usr/lib32/libssl_p.a /usr/lib32/libzpool.a I updated the host and followed the upgrade guide for the jail (http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/jails-application.html#JAILS-SERVICE-JAILS-UPGRADING). freebsd-update fetch now reports that there are no updates available in the host but the following is the output from freebsd-update fetch in the jail: [root@bb /]# freebsd-update fetch Looking up update.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 3 mirrors found. Fetching metadata signature for 8.0-RELEASE from update5.FreeBSD.org... done. Fetching metadata index... done. Inspecting system... done. Preparing to download files... done. The following files are affected by updates, but no changes have been downloaded because the files have been modified locally: /var/db/mergemaster.mtree The following files will be updated as part of updating to 8.0-RELEASE-p2: /usr/lib/libssl.a /usr/lib/libssl_p.a /usr/lib/libzpool.a /usr/lib32/libssl.a /usr/lib32/libssl_p.a /usr/lib32/libzpool.a Shouldn't freebsd-update know that the jail is up to date or have I failed upgrading it? How am I supposed to know if a jail is up to date if freebsd-update can't tell? I'm sure I ran make cleandir twice before make buildworld. TIA

TIA

  • apt-get fails to upgrade, install, remove etc

    - by Kieran Peat

    - by Ajay
    Hi I'm trying to install libssh2 for 64-bit. I'm using the following code for installation: cd libssh2-1.4.3/ export CFLAGS="-mabi=64 -march=mips64r2" ./configure --with-libz --with-libgcrypt --with-libz-prefix=`pwd`/../../support__ libs/libs/zlib/ --with-libgcrypt-prefix=`pwd`/../../support_libs/``libs/extra --wii thout-libssl-prefix --prefix=`pwd`/../../support_libs/libs/extra_2 make && make install without using "export CFLAGS="-mabi=64 -march=mips64r2" it compiles the binaries in 32-bit and whem i use #export for 64-bit, it gives this configuration error:: checking for libgcrypt... no configure: error: cannot find OpenSSL or Libgcrypt, try --with-libssl-prefix=PATH or --with-libgcrypt-prefix=PATH make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found.
