• That pestky Intel Centrino wireless N + WiMAX 6150 wireless card

  I'm new to linix and just got Ubuntu up and running on my ASUS laptop last night. Aside from the wireless everything seems to be working. The card is able to recognize networks but cannot make a full connection. After I enter my password it will try to connect before asking for the password again after a few minutes. I know the issue isn't the password because I checked that I had the right one. I've done some poking around trying to find a way to get it work. Linix recognizes the card as well. I found a link to some drivers in a question someone had about a WiMAX 6250 card and am curious if anyone knows if they would also work for the 6150 I have in my machine: https://github.com/ago/wimax-tools If not what can I do?

  I have the following structure: /.svn /bla/.svn /hello/.svn /bla/bla/bla/.svn ... etc I want to delete all the .svn folders. How do I do it? It's NOT: rm -rf .svn In windows you use the /s trigger. How do you do it linix?

• Ubuntu 12.04 edit grub

  I just install Ubuntu 12.04. I want to change the boot order of grub. Previous versions of grub.cfg I was able to change the permissions and the do a gedit. After reloading 12.04, I was able to change permissions for grub.cfg, but gedit will not let me save it. I am a little irritated that Ubuntu is suppose to be open source. However someone has chosen to lock one out of a file. I do realize that some people have no business doing a edit on grub. I am a long time user of Unix and Linix.

• Best book for learning linux shell scripting?

  I normally works on Windows machines but on some occasions I do switch to development on linux. And my most recent project will be written entirely on a certain linix platforms (not the standard Apache/MySQL/PHP setup). So I thought it would pay to learn to write some linux automation script now. I can get around the system, start/stop services, compile/install stuffs fine. Those are probably basic drills for a programmer. But if, for example, I wanted to deploy a certain application automatically to a newly minted linux machine every month I'd love to know how to do it. So if I wanted to learn serious linux shell scripting, what book should I be reading? Thanks

  Question No 207630 replied by Marco Braid After your reply I could install Synaptic,then AptonCD,Gdebi and some other applications. I had made APTONCD. I was convienced that Ubuntu 12.04 LTS is working well. I had removed everything ( Ubuntu 12.04,Fuduntu,Linix mint 13) from my hard disk and reinstalled Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Your sugestion which worked well earlier does not work now. I get following msg on terminal. Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information...
