Modify loopj jQuery Plugin: Tokenizing Autocomplete Text Entry

I'm looking into updating LoopJ's autocomplete plug-in. I want to override one of the methods (highlight_term to be exact) however it looks like that method is private.

Not getting a response when using Android Async HTTP (from loopj)

I am using the Async Http library from loopj.com and also the sample code from the site. The problem is that when the request is made I don't get a response. I have even overridden the onFinish() function which isn't getting fire either. I am using the sample code from their site which is as follows: import com.loopj.android.http.AsyncHttpClient; import com.loopj.android.http.AsyncHttpResponseHandler; Log.v("bopzy_debug", "Testing HTTP Connectivity"); System.out.println("123"); AsyncHttpClient client = new AsyncHttpClient(); client.get("http://www.google.com", new AsyncHttpResponseHandler() { @Override public void onSuccess(String response) { Log.v("bopzy_debug", response); } @Override public void onFinish() { Log.v("bopzy_debug", "Finished.."); } }); Any ideas on how to solve would be greatly appreciated, not really sure what is going on here.

Loopj Android Async Http - onFailure not fired

I am using the great async http library from loopj, but I have run into a small snag. If the user has no internet connection or loses their connection, the app just won't return anything. This part is expected, but it also doesn't fire the onFailure method. Also, the code I have used when there is an internet connection does work so there is no problem on the server end. Here is some code that is stripped down to the minimum. How can I get the width/height of a loaded swf's stage in AS2?

I'm using MovieClipLoader to load an external as2 swf file into my as2 flash project, and I'm having trouble getting the original stage size of the loaded swf. When I run the following code: var popup:MovieClip = _root.createEmptyMovieClip("popup", 1); var loader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader(); var loadHandler:Object = new Object(); loader.addListener(loadHandler); loader.loadClip(url, popup); loadHandler.onLoadInit = function(mc:MovieClip) { trace(mc._width + ", " + mc._height); } I get strange width/height values (mc._width=601.95, mc._height=261.15) when what I actually want is the stage size of the loaded swf file, which in this case I know to be 300px x 250px. Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks

A jQuery plugin that allows the user to type a string of words, press enter, and it makes it a block of text, from there they can press the X to get rid of it, or type more key words into the input area. I've found many things that do this, but all are pulling information from a predefined list of choices.

ASP.NET MVC WebService - Security for Industrial Android Clients

I'm trying to design a system that will allow a bunch of Android devices to securely log into an ASP.NET MVC REST Web service. At present neither side are implemented. However there is an ASP.NET MVC website which the web service will site along side. This is currently using forms authentication. The idea will be that the Android devices will download data from the web service and then be able to work offline storing data in their own local databases, where users will be able to make updates to that data, and then syncing updates back to the main server where possible. The web service will be using HTTPS to prevent calls being intercepted and reduce the risk of calls being intercepted. The system is an industrial system and will not be in used by the general Android population. Instead only authorized Android devices will be authorized by the Web Service to make calls. As such I was thinking of using the Android devices serial number as a username and then a generated long password which the device will be able to pick up - once the device has been authorized server side. The device will also have user logins - but these will not be to log into the web service - just the device itself - since the device and user must be able to work offline. So usernames and passwords will be downloaded and stored on the devices themselves. My question is... what form of security is best setup on the web service? Should it use forms Authentication? Should the username and password just be passed in with each GET/POST call or should it start a session as I have with the website? The Android side causes more confusion. There seems to be a number of options here Spring-Android, Volley, Retrofit, LoopJ, Robo Spice which seems to use the aforementioned Spring, Retrofit or Google HttpClient. I'm struggling to find a simple example which authenticates with a forms based authentication system. Is this because I'm going about this wrong? Is there another option that would better suite this?

jquery: prepopulating autocomplete fields

I'm using the tokenizing autocomplete plugin for jquery ( http://loopj.com/2009/04/25/jquery-plugin-tokenizing-autocomplete-text-entry ). I mostly use Ruby, and I'm really unfamiliar with javascript, though. My basic setup looks like this, and works fine for a new, blank form: $(document).ready(function () { $("#tag_ids_field").tokenInput("/tags", { queryParam: "search" }); }); The problem comes when I try to prepopulate it, like for an edit page. I'm trying to do something like this (where the "#tag_ids_field" text box contains the JSON when the page is loaded - that way is just cleaner on the application side of things). $(document).ready(function () { var tags = $("#tag_ids_field").html(); $("#tag_ids_field").tokenInput("/tags", { queryParam: "search", prePopulate: tags }); }); However, when the page loads I see that it's just filled with hundreds of entries that read 'undefined'. I get this even if I take the JSON output that Rails provides and try sticking it right in the .js file: $(document).ready(function () { $("#tag_ids_field").tokenInput("/tags", { queryParam: "search", prePopulate: "[{\"id\":\"44\",\"name\":\"omnis sit impedit et numquam voluptas enim\"},{\"id\":\"515\",\"name\":\"deserunt odit id doloremque reiciendis aliquid qui vel\"},{\"id\":\"943\",\"name\":\"exercitationem numquam possimus quasi iste nisi illum\"}]" }); }); That's obviously not a solution, I just tried it out of frustration and I get the same behavior. My two questions: One, why are my text boxes being filled with "undefined" tags when I try to prepopulate, and how can I get them to prepopulate successfully? Two, I'm planning on having many autocomplete fields like this on the same page (for when several records are edited at once - they all query the same place). How can I make each autocomplete field take it's prepopulated values from it's own textbox? Something like (applying these settings to all input boxes with a certain class, not just the one of a particular id): $(document).ready(function () { $(".tag_ids_field").tokenInput("/tags", { queryParam: "search", prePopulate: (the contents of that particular ".tag_ids_field" input box) }); });

jQuery tokeninput plugin + passing id to another tokeninput url

I am using a jquery plugin called jQuery Tokeninput http://loopj.com/jquery-tokeninput/ and I am having a logic issue. var country_id = ""; jQuery("#demo-input-prevent-duplicates").tokenInput(host+"/forms/campaign_location.php?action=country", { theme: "facebook", hintText: "Enter a Country...", placeholder: "Enter a Country...", preventDuplicates: true, onAdd: function(item) { country_id = item.id; }, onDelete: function(){ hideElements(); }, tokenDelimiter: "|", }); My question here is how would I pass the value of country_id to the parameter of the below code. I'm not seeing how to do this one on the jquery tokeninput documentation. jQuery("#targ_state").tokenInput(host+"/forms/campaign_location.php?action=stateorprovince&cid="+country_id, { theme: "facebook", preventDuplicates: true, hintText: "Enter a State or Province...", placeholder: "Enter a State or Province..." }); If you'll look on this part of the code, I am passing the country_id that was generated above on the "onAdd". This doesn't work though. jQuery("#targ_state").tokenInput(host+"/forms/campaign_location.php?action=stateorprovince&cid="+country_id .... How would I do that one?
