I have a form, when user submit new location. The code need to find akin records to give a message (ex: This location already in db, use it or create new?)   • quick folder access on Linux (akin to Launchy)

    Launchy is a great piece of software, I use it on Windows mainly for quickly accessing folders. I love its auto-indexing in the background, and hardly ever browse through folders manually these days, solves me lots of time. On Linux (Ubuntu 9.10), I usually "live" in the terminal, however. Therefore, Launchy on Linux (or Gnome Do, or its other replacements) are not what I need - as it opens the file manager, and I don't need the file manager. What I do need is something that indexes my folders and lets me cd into them quickly in the terminal. For example: mycd python_c Will cd to: ~/dev/scripts/python_code I hope my intention is understood :-) Are you familiar with such tools?

  • gwt rounded panel (standards based widget akin to DecoratorPanel)

    I'm trying to write an app that uses rounded corners for framing the app. I've found a package on google code that has a RoundedLinePanel and it seems to work... kind of. I'm wondering a few things. Is this what people are using for creating divs with round corners in GWT? The release notes say it hasn't changed in almost a year. Also, I can't seem to set a fixed height of this div (setHeight sets it on the wrapper div, not the inner one). so it's not useful to me as I have a fixed height app. Finally, if anyone can suggest a better mechanism for creating rounded corner divs in GWT I'm all ears.

  • JQuery: Selecting Text in an Element (akin to highlighting with your mouse)

    I would like to have users click a link that then selects the html text in another element (NOT an input). By "select" I mean the same way you would select text by dragging your mouse over it. This has been a bear to research because everyone talks about "select" or "highlight" in other terms. Is this possible? My code so far is thus: html: <a href="javascript:" onclick="SelectText('xhtml-code')">Select Code</a> <code id="xhtml-code">Some Code here </code> js (jquery): function SelectText(element) { $("#" + element).select(); } but it doesn't work. Counter examples are activities that would help in almost any situation, like : take a shower or any other, somewhat passive activities, which are only helpful in triggering this sort of asynchronous problem solving our brain does exercise, because you brain simply works better when you're fit EDIT : It seems this question was quite misunderstood. I wasn't asking about what you can do when stuck on a problem but rather, what kind of activities you have in you spare time that you think help you, more or less directly, solving programing problems.

    I'm a career Windows developer and the only experience I have interfacing hardware is with printers, USB, and point-of-sale devices. However, after reading this article my interest in enthusiast programmable boards has been peaked. Unfortunately, I'm at a loss when it comes to exactly what I would do with one of these boards. Are activities limited to simple exercises akin to the projects in high school where we hooked LED's up to bread boards and made them blink? or are they capable of much, much more?

  • Migrating from "partial" Exchange 2003 to full Exchange 2003 usability

    I have a client that is using Exchange 2003 on SBS 2003 R2, but only for calendar sharing and contacts sharing. Their email is still coming to their clients via a POP3 account on each client's Outlook. I'd like to move them over to using Exchange for both email and the other things they are utilizing it for now. Can you folks guide me in the right direction? The setup: external domain is akin to domain.com (and is where they get their POP3 email from now) internal domain is akin to domain.local only simple hardware firewall (no ISA) static external IP is available to use My "assumptions": Setup SMTP default connector in Exchange for their existing external domain Have their existing email backed up to PST files (just in case) Setup the new MX records to point domain.com to the static external IP I'm a little confused how I'm going to setup their existing Exchange accounts with the proper SMTP address though. Right now it is just [email protected]. Do I just need to modify or create a new recipient policy? Are there other steps involved that I'm missing? Anyone with a walkthrough or even a basic "steps" is fine. I'm fairly used to Exchange 03, but I've been on Exchange 07 for a while now so going back is the weird part...plus I don't know what issues Exchange 03 on SBS has versus the normal "version". I am looking for something akin to audacity's label track but in a simpler application that also supports video. We don't need to edit the video or audio itself. It needs to be able to run on windows 7. Also if possible to have a setting where every 20 seconds the playback pauses to allow for annotation.
