• mySQL - Separate Lastname,Firstname and CompanyName entries from a single column

  I've got a column in a database which contains company names, and customer names all in one field... what I'd like to do is keep the CompanyName column completely intact, but wherever there is a comma in the CompanyName I'd like to take that information and populate it into a FirstName and LastName field. So that basically... Before: CompanyName: Big Company Inc Smith, John Sue, Maggie After: CompanyName: Big Company Inc Smith, John Sue, Maggie LastName: Smith Sue FirstName: John Maggie This one is pretty dang tricky for me... Any help is greatly appreciated!

  I am doing research on replicating an ad execution - http://www.digitalbuzzblog.com/gol-airlines-mobile-controlled-banner-game/ It's a simple "game" involving using the phone as a forward/back/left/right controller for a car in flash on the internet. I've started reading on P2P, but I'm finding such a vast amount of information and non specific to what I need that it's hard for me to sort through. Does anyone know any tutorials or can shed some light on how I might go about making a very simple mobile controller for a flash game?

• Best way to solve the game 'bricolage'

  I am trying to solve the following game http://www.hacker.org/brick/ using some kind of AI. The target of this game is to finally clear the board by clicking on groups of at least 3 bricks of the same color and removing them. If a group is disappearing the remaining bricks above will fall down or be moved left if a column got no bricks left. The higher the level - more colors and larger board. I already guessed that a pure bruteforce approach wont scale nice for higher levels. So i tried to implement a monte carlo like approach which worked ok for the first levels. But i am still not confident i will make the maximum level of 1052 with this. Currently i am stuck @~ level 100 :) The finding of the solution takes too much time... Hoping that there is a better way to do this i read some stuff about neural networks but i am really at the beginning of this. Before becoming obsessed by ANNs i want to be sure it is the right way for my problem. So my question is: Does it make any sense to apply an ANN to this game? Any suggestions?

It's a Spring Security Context?

• I need to change a zip code into a series of dots and dashes (a barcode), but I can't figure out how

  Here's what I've got so far: def encodeFive(zip): zero = "||:::" one = ":::||" two = "::|:|" three = "::||:" four = ":|::|" five = ":|:|:" six = ":||::" seven = "|:::|" eight = "|::|:" nine = "|:|::" codeList = [zero,one,two,three,four,five,six,seven,eight,nine] allCodes = zero+one+two+three+four+five+six+seven+eight+nine code = "" digits = str(zip) for i in digits: code = code + i return code With this I'll get the original zip code in a string, but none of the numbers are encoded into the barcode. I've figured out how to encode one number, but it wont work the same way with five numbers.
