• Word mergefield wildcard not correctly matching

  Hello, Below is my mergefield code: { IF { MERGEFIELD Subs_State } = "GA" "blah blah" "{ IF { MERGEFIELD CEOrgStates } = "GA" "blah blah" ""} "} I'm pulling records from a MS Access db. My goal is to check whether a record has Subs_State field matching "GA", or the CEOrgStates has the word "GA" (some records have stuff like "|FL|CA|GA|CT|KY|" (no quotes)). When I merged the docs, Word doesnt seem to be able to match with the wildcards: If I use and compare "*GA" (fields ending with GA), it works; however, the double wildcards "*GA*" dont seem to work at all. Here are the things I’ve tried: Have data in lowercase, then compare with lowercase Have data in lowercase, convert to and then compare with uppercase Do the opposite of the above 2 with uppercase data Use “*GA*” and “*ga*” (no pipe) Use different delimiters Nothing seems to work with the double wildcard matching. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

• MS Word: Mailmerge hyperlinks with query get url string with a mergefield.

  Hi, I'm trying to send an email merging one document (docx) with a contacts database (via OleDB). Using MSWord2007, it seems easy (it works for easy things: name, address, ...) but I can't find how fill an query-get url string with a merge field inside an hyperlink. An hyperlink like: Click here where here is an hyperlink to http://domain.com/[email protected] where [email protected] is the address of the contact, a merge field. I've tried the special/merge fields: {HYPERLINK "http://domain.com/test.php?contact={MERGEFIELD contactEmail}" \o "Here"} but it doesn't work, sometimes it merge only the first record and then send all the mails with the same address, I got this alternating the view with ALT+F9. This support doc doesn't work for me because I don't have the complete URL in my database for each contact, and I can't change the design of the table or add a view (it's from the CRM), I don't like to do it exporting the table and adding the field.   I am having a find a replace in a bunch of RTF documents, The basic pattern I need is \{(?:\\\*)?\\field\\fldlock\{\\\*\\fldinst ?MERGEFIELD ?((?:\\.*?)?[\w\[\]]+?)(?:\\.*?)?\}(?:\{\\fldrslt\})?\} However I then found out there could potentialy be a newline before each slash, so it turned in to this. \{(?:\s*\\\*)?\s*\\field\s*\\fldlock\s*\{\s*\\\*\s*\\fldinst\s*MERGEFIELD\s*((?:\\.*?)?[\w\[\]]+?(?:\s*\\.*?)?)?\s*\}(?:\s*\{\s*\\fldrslt\s*\})?\s*\} But then I hit this it fails fees totaling $\protect {\field\fldlock{\*\fldinst MERGEFIELD ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYF EES}}\plain\f0\fs24\prot Is there way have to have it match a new line anywhere in the search too without adding (?:\r?\n)? everywhere? EDIT To clear up confusion on the new lines. I need to keep the newlines in the document, I only want to remove the newlines if they are inside my match, so in the final example I posted it should replace fees totaling $\protect {\field\fldlock{\*\fldinst MERGEFIELD ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYF EES}}\plain\f0\fs24\prot with fees totaling $\protect ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYFEES\plain\f0\fs24\prot

• Email Mail Merge via linked Excel sheet

  I have a MS Word 2007 document setup as a Mail Merge doc. I am using Excel as the data source. The MERGEFIELD ClientData contains an Excel file (test.xlsx). I want to merge the data from the Excel file listed in ClientData into the respective Mail Merge document. However, whenever I start the Mail Merge the {MERGEFIELD ClientData} field gets resolved only once and does not select the next row from ClientData. So this: {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\{MERGEFIELD ClientData}" \a \f 4 \h} Becomes this after starting the merge: {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\test.xlsx" \a \f 4 \h} So every Mail Merge doc uses the test.xlsx instead of the respective Excel document specific to the client (i.e test1.xlsx, test2.xlsx, test3.xlsx, etc.) As the merge runs through each Mail Merge doc I expect to see this: {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\test.xlsx" \a \f 4 \h} {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\test1.xlsx" \a \f 4 \h} {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\test2.xlsx" \a \f 4 \h} {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\test3.xlsx" \a \f 4 \h} But for some reason this isn't happening. If the 'future date' is less than 2 months from the current system date, the following statement should be produced: "ABCDEFG" If the 'future date' is 2 months or more from the current system date, the following statement should be produced: "Zyxuvw" Can any one help on this?

• Replace merge fields with text with OpenXML SDK 2.0

  What is the best way to remove all merge fields from a word 2010 document using openxml sdk 2.0, and replace them with a simple text? I have some difficulties to remove them cleanly. Have tried to remove all Run objects that includes a FieldCode with a "MERGEFIELD" defined, and appended a new Run with my text. But I am missing something crucial since the field seems to stay defined for this element.
