• Design Patterns for Coordinating Change Event Listeners

  I've been working with the Observer pattern in JavaScript using various popular libraries for a number of years (YUI & jQuery). It's often that I need to observe a set of property value changes (e.g. respond only when 2 or more specific values change). Is there a elegant way to 'subscribe' the handler so that it is only called one time? Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong in my design?

• Can you Export/Import Flex (4) Data Services?

  Flex newb here. I'm working in flashbuilder 4 (flex4?), and am being asked to create the client-side data services integration 'layer' in a flex app. There is another team working on the actual UI/Presentation. Both parts must be deployed in a single swf. If I use the data/services wizard to build out my service connections (and generate the ActionScript), is it possible to export these 'connections' so that they can easily be imported into another project? Or must they be defined through the wizard all over again? The other team wants to be able to see the connections appear in the new project's Data/Services inspector (IDE Tab). Thanks!

• What's the best way to release objective-c properties?

  I'm new to memory-management, and am reading different things about how to best release properties. If I have: in .h: @property(retain) NSString *myStr; and in .m: @synthesize myStr = _iVarStr; Should my dealloc have: [_iVarStr release]; or self.myStr = nil; or something else? Thanks!
