  • add_shown & add_hiding ModalPopupExtender Events

    - by Yousef_Jadallah
        In this topic, I’ll discuss the Client events we usually need while using ModalPopupExtender. The add_shown fires when the ModalPopupExtender had shown and add_hiding fires when the user cancels it by CancelControlID,note that it fires before hiding the modal. They are useful in many cases, for example may you need to set focus to specific Textbox when the user display the modal, or if you need to reset the controls values inside the Modal after it has been hidden. To declare Client event either in pageLoad javascript function or you can attach the function by Sys.Application.add_load like this: Sys.Application.add_load(modalInit); function modalInit() { var modalPopup = $find('mpeID'); modalPopup.add_hiding(onHiding); } function onHiding(sender, args) { } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; }   I’ll use the first way in the current example. So lets start with the illustration:   1- In this example am using simple panel which contain UserName and Password Textboxes besides submit and cancel buttons, this Panel will be used as PopupControlID in the ModalPopupExtender : <asp:Panel ID="panModal" runat="server" Height="180px" Width="300px" style="display:none" CssClass="ModalWindow"> <table width="100%" > <tr> <td> User Name </td> <td> <asp:TextBox ID="txtName" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Password </td> <td> <asp:TextBox ID="txtPassword" runat="server" TextMode="Password"></asp:TextBox> </td> </tr> </table> <br /> <asp:Button ID="btnSubmit" runat="server" Text="Submit" /> <asp:Button ID="btnCancel" runat="server" Text="Cancel" /> </asp:Panel>   You can use this simple style for the Panel : <style type="text/css"> .ModalWindow { border: solid; border-width:3px; background:#f0f0f0; } </style> .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; }   2- Create the view button (TargetControlID) as you know this contain the ID of the element that activates the modal popup: <asp:Button ID="btnView" runat="server" Text="View" /> .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; }   3-Add the ModalPopupExtender ,moreover don’t forget to add the ScriptManager: <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"/> <cc1:ModalPopupExtender ID="ModalPopupExtender1" runat="server" TargetControlID="btnView" PopupControlID="panModal" CancelControlID="btnCancel"/> .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; }     4-In the pageLoad javascript function inside add_shown event set the focus on the txtName , and inside add_hiding reset the two Textboxes. <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function pageLoad() { $find('ModalPopupExtender1').add_shown(function() { alert('add_shown event fires'); $get('<%=txtName.ClientID%>').focus();   });   $find('ModalPopupExtender1').add_hiding(function() { alert('add_hiding event fires'); $get('<%=txtName.ClientID%>').value = ""; $get('<%=txtPassword.ClientID%>').value = "";   }); }   </script> .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; }   I’ve added the two alerts just to let you show when the event fires.   Hope this simple example show you the benefit and how to use these events.

  • Why does a ModalPopupExtender fail when using SSL?

    - by Brooke Jackson
    I have created a modal popup using the ModalPopupExtender in Microsoft's AJAX 1.0 for .NET 2.0. It works great when the page doesn't isn't being accessed through SSL (http://) however the link to close the popup fails to fire if accessing the page through https://. Is the ModalPopupExtender at blame? Is it a "Feature" of SSL to block popups, or is it something else I haven't though of? Here is the code I am using: <asp:Button ID="btnHelp" runat="server" Text="?" CausesValidation="False" /> <asp:Panel ID="pnlHelp" BackColor="white" runat="server"> <asp:LinkButton ID="lnkClosePanel" runat="server" CausesValidation="False" OnClick="lnkCloseHelp_Click">Close</asp:LinkButton> <p>Some Text</p> </asp:Panel> <cc1:ModalPopupExtender ID="popExt" runat="server" TargetControlID="btnHelp" PopupControlID="pnlHelp"></cc1:ModalPopupExtender>

  • resize ModalPopupExtender

    - by Joo Park
    after showing the ModalPopupExtender, there are two radio buttons that are displayed as part of the popup. When you select the second radio button, I display more information in a gridview control. When the ModalPopupExtender first displays, I have it set at 40% for width and height for the panel associated with the popup. After clicking the second radio button, I would like to resize the popup to 80% for width and height. My question is how do you resize ModalPopupExtender after it's initial popup?

  • ModalPopupExtender OnShow Event

    - by Thomas
    When clicking a button, I have a ModalPopupExtender (Panel) that gets displayed. I can't seem to trigger any event during that process. Adding an event to the button that opens the ModalPopupExtender doesnt work, as it never triggers. Adding the button as a trigger in my UpdatePanel also doesnt work. Scenario: I have a gridview with a button outside of the gridview. Clicking the button opens up a ModalPopupExtender which needs to display the checkboxes clicked on the gridview. I have the code to get the checkboxes clicked on the Gridview, however I cant seem to use an event during the process of opening the ModalPopupExtender.

  • ModalPopupExtender closing as soon as it opens

    - by Fred
    Hi, I'm trying to use the AjaxToolkit's ModalPopupExtender, but it doesn't work. In fact, as soon as it opens, it's getting closed. So I can see that it is rendered, but it's getting closed in the second. I tried that with IE6 and Firefox 3, it does the samething. Here's the code: <AjaxControlToolkit:ModalPopupExtender ID="ModalPopupExtender1" TargetControlID="ButtonTarget" PopupControlID="Panel1" OkControlID="ButtonOk" CancelControlID="ButtonCancel" BackgroundCssClass="modal-background" runat="server"> </AjaxControlToolkit:ModalPopupExtender> <asp:Panel ID="Panel1" Style="display: none;" runat="server"> <%-- some stuff... --%> </asp:Panel>

  • ModalPopupExtender doesn't work on IE6 frame layout

    - by Joe
    I'm using a "frame" layout similar to the one in this excellent answer: a div #top at the top of the page, a div#left on the left, and a div #main with the main content. The #top and #left divs contain navigation menus. Now I want to use a popup div using the AjaxControlToolkit ModalPopupExtender inside the content (#main) div. This works fine on IE8 (where #top, #left, #main all have position:fixed), but when I run it on IE6, the modal background only covers the #main div - I need it to cover the whole of the page including the #top and #left navigation divs. Looking at the script for ModalPopupExtender, it appears to be searching up the parent hierarchy until it finds a parent with position relative or absolute. And in the IE6 rendering, the #main div has position:absolute because position:fixed is not supported, which I guess explains what is happening. Any suggestions for the best/easiest way to get this working properly on IE6? Ideally without modifying the ModalPopupExtender code, but I'll do this if I have to and it's the best solution.

  • ModalPopupExtender z-index value decreases after every show

    - by ryanulit
    This is a new one I have never seen before. I have a gridview containing a bunch of categories that can be edited by clicking on the respective "Edit" link within the gridview. The modalpopupextender is then shown programmatically (.show() method) and the user is allowed to edit the category. Then the modal popup is programmtically hidden (.hide() method) when the user presses "Update" or "Cancel". For some reason after every new show of the modal popup, the z-index is decreasing by 1000 until it is hidden behind everything on my page. It starts at 7000 for the very first show. Therefore the user would not be able to edit an infinite number of categories if they wanted to. Any ideas why this is happening? Css class used on modalpopupextender: DIV.box-pop { border: #95aab9 1px solid; background-color: #ECF1F5; display: block; position: relative; margin: -6px 6px 6px -6px; padding: 4px; z-index: 10000; } Panel used for popup: <asp:Panel ID="PanelModify" runat="server" Width="250px" CssClass="box-pop"> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanelModify" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional"> <ContentTemplate> <table width="100%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="3"> <tr> <td> <div class="box"> <h1> <span><strong> <asp:Literal ID="LiteralModalTitle" runat="server" /></strong></span> </h1> <table border="0" width="100%"> <tr> <td> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBoxModifiedText" runat="server" Width="173px" ValidationGroup="Modify"></asp:TextBox> <asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="RequiredFieldValidatorModifiedText" runat="server" ValidationGroup="Modify" ErrorMessage="*" ControlToValidate="TextBoxModifiedText" Display="Dynamic"> </asp:RequiredFieldValidator> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <asp:Button ID="ButtonUpdate" runat="server" Text="Update" ValidationGroup="Modify" /><asp:Button ID="ButtonInsert" runat="server" Text="Insert" ValidationGroup="Modify" /> &nbsp; <asp:Button ID="ButtonCancel" runat="server" Text="Cancel" CausesValidation="false" /> </td> </tr> </table> </div> </td> </tr> </table> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> </asp:Panel> <ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender ID="ModalPopupExtenderModify" runat="server" PopupControlID="PanelModify" TargetControlID="ButtonHideModify" BackgroundCssClass="modalBackground"> </ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender> <asp:Button ID="ButtonHideModify" runat="server" Style="display: none;" />

  • How to Get Specific Button pressed in a repeater when using ModalPopupExtender

    - by MemphisDeveloper
    I have buttons contained within a repeater. A ModalPopupExtender is used to confirm event for each button. I create standard panels outside of the repeater and I attach each button in the repeater to these panels from inside the repeater. The problem is once the button is pressed in the popup I can't figure out how to determine which row of the repeater to edit as I can't figure out how to identify which button was pressed. Panel: <asp:Panel ID="pnlRemoveAlert" runat="server" > <h1 align="center">Remove Phone</h1> <asp:Button ID="butRemove" runat="server" OnCommand="Handle_Click" CommandName="Remove" Text="Continue"/> <asp:Button ID="butRemoveCancel" runat="server" Text="Cancel"/> </asp:Panel> Repeater: <asp:Repeater ID="repPhoneNumbers" runat="server" OnItemDataBound="setButtonModals"> <ItemTemplate> ... <asp:Button ID="btnStatus" runat="server"/> <asp:Button ID="dummybutton" runat="Server" Visible="false" /> <ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender ID="mpeEnable" runat="server" TargetControlID = "btnStatus CancelControlID="butEnableCancel" PopupControlID="pnlEnableAlert"/> ... Event Handle: Protected Sub Handle_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As CommandEventArgs) 'I need to know which row of the repeater to deal with here End Sub

  • ASP.NET: ModalPopupExtender prevents button click event from firing

    - by C. Griffin
    Here is what I'm trying to do: Click a button on my page, which in turn makes (2) things happen: Display a ModalPopup to prevent the user from pressing any buttons or changing values Call my code behind method, hiding the ModalPopup when finished Here is the ASP markup: <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel2" runat="server" ChildrenAsTriggers="true" UpdateMode="Always"> <Triggers> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="btnSaveData" EventName="Click" /> </Triggers> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Panel ID="pnlHidden" runat="server" style="display: none;"> <div> <h1>Saving...</h1> </div> </asp:Panel> <cc1:ModalPopupExtender ID="modalPopup" BackgroundCssClass="modalBackground" runat="server" TargetControlID="btnSaveData" PopupControlID="pnlHidden"> </cc1:ModalPopupExtender> <asp:Button ID="btnSaveData" runat="server" Text="Save Data" OnClick="btnSaveData_Click" /> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> Now, here is my code behind C# code: protected void btnSaveData_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { UpdateUserData(GetLoggedInUser()); modalPopup.Enabled = false; } Why doesn't this work? The ModalPopup displays perfectly, but the btnSaveData_Click event NEVER fires.

  • AJAX modalpopupextender pressing enter when cancel is focused doesn't trigger cancel

    - by Jonn
    Been using the Ajax modalpopupextender. I used a script to set focus on the cancel button when it gets showed on the page but when I press enter (expecting that cancel would've been triggered since it was focused) it went ahead and triggered the event for the OK button (which, unfortunately was a delete event). I've tried using various methods for focusing on the Cancel button and trying to make it work. Anyone know how to make this work?

  • asp.net ModalPopupExtender : need to show scroll bar when overflow

    - by DavRob60
    I display a gridview in a ModalPopupExtender. When the screen resolution is to small, the pop-up is to big to all be displayed on the page. I just want to add scroll bar to the pop-up when this happen. I know it's probably some CSS, but all I tried did not work. here some base css .modalTextBoxBackground { background-color:Gray; filter:alpha(opacity=70); opacity:0.7; } .modalTextBox { border: 1px solid #FFFFFF; background-color: #0066CC; color: #00FFFF; } here some code from the aspx <asp:Panel ID="OptionSelectionPanel" runat="server" CssClass="modalTextBox"> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="OptionSelectionUpdatePanel" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional" > <Triggers> <asp:asyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="TemplateSelection" /> </Triggers> <ContentTemplate> <table class="EditRow"> <tr class="HeaderFooter"> <td colspan="3" class="modalTextBoxTitle"> Add options to Quote </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Manufacturer </td> <td> <asp:DropDownList ID="OptionManufacturerFilter" runat="server" DataSourceID="OptionManufacturerDataSource" DataTextField="Name" DataValueField="Code" AutoPostBack="True" > </asp:DropDownList> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="3"> <asp:GridView ID="NewOptionSelection" runat="server" DataSourceID="AvailableOptions" DataKeyNames="Option_Id" AllowPaging="True" AllowSorting="True" AutoGenerateColumns="false"> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="category_Descr" HeaderText="Category" SortExpression="category_Descr,subcategory_Descr,code" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="subcategory_Descr" HeaderText="Sub-Category" SortExpression="subcategory_Descr,code" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="Manuf_Name" HeaderText="Manufacturer" SortExpression="Manuf_Name"/> </Columns></asp:GridView> </td> </tr> <tr class="HeaderFooter"> <td colspan="3" class="Center"> <asp:Button ID="OptionSelectionClose" runat="server" Text="Close" /> </td> </tr> </table> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> </asp:Panel> <asp:Button runat="server" ID="HiddenTargetControlForOptionSelectionModalPopup" style="display:none"/> <cc1:ModalPopupExtender ID="OptionSelectionModalPopupExtender" runat="server" TargetControlID="HiddenTargetControlForOptionSelectionModalPopup" PopupControlID="OptionSelectionPanel" BackgroundCssClass="modalTextBoxBackground" />

  • modalpopupextender and commas appearing in my textbox asp.net

    - by SLC
    Some weird stuff is happening, I am converting an application that used to use javascript to open another web page in a tiny window for data input to use a ModalPopupExtender. It seems to work fine, but in the OK event, when I do txtData.Text (the textbox in my modal popup), it comes back with a comma before the data, so if you type "Rabbit", it comes back as ",Rabbit". Also when I use it multiple times, in another place where I might click to show it, and type "Fish", it starts coming back with stuff like ",Rabbit,,Fish" I don't know why or how to stop it from doing this... any ideas?

  • Use ModalPopupExtender without having to set TargetControlID?

    - by Monty
    I'd like to use a modalpopupextender in my asp.net page to show a sub form. But it only has to show on specific conditions. Those conditions are determined in a piece of javascript code. So, most importantly, the modal popup doesn't have to show on a button click. However, if I leave the property TargetControlID empty I get the following exception: The TargetControlID of 'ModalPopupExtender1' is not valid. The value cannot be null or empty. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: The TargetControlID of 'ModalPopupExtender1' is not valid. The value cannot be null or empty. Do I just have the TargetControlID to an hidden button or is there aslo a more decent option? Thanks.

  • modalpopupextender.Show() wont fire

    - by Peter Lea
    I'm pretty new to developing for the web so bare with me. I have a company page with multiple locations and emails etc at each of these addresses. The idea is to have a single modalpopup to edit each type of data (one for email, one for urls, one for addresses etc). I link the modalpopupextender to a hiddenbutton and then call an edit function from various places where I can populate some hiddenfields and textboxes in the panel before showing it. The code executes but it just wont show the damn popup, I just see a flash and can't figure out if its my panel, my css or something I don't understand about ajax and postbacks etc. Things i've tried after reading various threads: Disable smart navigation in web.config Move ToolKitScriptManager up to master page and use proxy in content set hiddenbutton to use style="display:none" tried links etc instead of hidden button Heres my code CSS .modalBackground { position: absolute; z-index: 100; top: 0px; left: 0px; background-color: #000; filter: alpha(opacity=60); -moz-opacity: 0.6; opacity: 0.6; } .modalPopup { background-color: #FFD; border-width: 3px; border-style: solid; border-color: gray; padding: 3px;} Asp/html <ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender runat="server" ID="mpe_email" BackgroundCssClass="modalBackground" PopupControlID="modal_email" CancelControlID="btn_cancel_email" TargetControlID="fake_btn_email" /> <asp:Button ID="fake_btn_email" runat="server" Text="email" style="display:none;" /> <asp:panel id="modal_email" runat="server" class="modalPopup" Width="500px" Height="500px"> <asp:HiddenField ID="hf_modal_email_location_id" runat="server" Value="" /> <asp:HiddenField ID="hf_modal_email_contact_id" runat="server" Value="" /> <asp:HiddenField ID="hf_modal_email_comms_id" runat="server" Value="" /> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td> <asp:Label ID="lbl_mpe_email_title" runat="server" Text="Edit Email Address" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td width="40px"><img src="../images/email.png" height="30px" width="30px"/></td> <td> <table width="100px"> <tr> <td><span>Quick Ref: <asp:TextBox ID="txb_mpe_email_qref" runat="server" Text="" /></span></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span>Email Address: <asp:TextBox ID="txb_mpe_email_address_full" runat="server" Text="" /></span></td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="40px" align="left"><asp:Button ID="btn_cancel_email" runat="server" Text="Cancel"/></td> <td align="right"><asp:Button ID="btn_save_email" runat="server" Text="Save" OnCommand="save_modal_email" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="right"><asp:Label ID="lbl_mpe_email_err" runat="server" Text="" /></td> </tr> </table> c# public void oloc_ocon_email_edit(object sender, RepeaterCommandEventArgs e) { switch (e.CommandName) { case "edit": hf_modal_email_location_id.Value = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_location_id")).Value; hf_modal_email_contact_id.Value = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_contact_id")).Value; hf_modal_email_comms_id.Value = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_comms_id")).Value; lbl_mpe_email_title.Text = "Edit Email Address"; txb_mpe_email_qref.Text = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_qref")).Value; txb_mpe_email_address_full.Text = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_email_full")).Value; lbl_mpe_email_err.Text = ""; mpe_email.Show(); break; case "new": hf_modal_email_location_id.Value = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_location_id_p")).Value; hf_modal_email_contact_id.Value = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_contact_id_p")).Value; hf_modal_email_comms_id.Value = "0"; lbl_mpe_email_title.Text = "New Email Address"; txb_mpe_email_qref.Text = ""; txb_mpe_email_address_full.Text = ""; lbl_mpe_email_err.Text = ""; mpe_email.Show(); break; } } Stuff makes so much more sense in a desktop environment, I hope someone can point me in the right direction.   • ModalPopupExtender and validation problems

    - by Malachi
    The problem I am facing is that when there is validation on a page and I am trying to display a model pop-up, the pop-up is not getting displayed. And by using fire-bug I have noticed that an error is being thrown. The button that is used to display the pop-up has cause validation set to false so I am stuck as to what is causing the error. I have created a sample page to isolate the problem that I am having, any help would be greatly appreciated. The Error function () {Array.remove(Page_ValidationSummaries, document.getElementById("ValidationSummary1"));}(function () {var fn = function () {AjaxControlToolkit.ModalPopupBehavior.invokeViaServer("mpeSelectClient", true);Sys.Application.remove_load(fn);};Sys.Application.add_load(fn);}) is not a function http://localhost:1131/WebForm1.aspx Line 136 ASP <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="WebForm1.aspx.cs" Inherits="CLIck10.WebForm1" %> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="ajaxToolkit" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head runat="server"> <title></title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"> </asp:ScriptManager> <div> <asp:Button ID="btnPush" runat="server" Text="Push" CausesValidation="false" onclick="btnPush_Click" /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtVal" runat="server" /> <asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="RequiredFieldValidator1" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtVal" ErrorMessage="RequiredFieldValidator" /> <asp:ValidationSummary ID="ValidationSummary1" runat="server" /> <asp:Panel ID="pnlSelectClient" Style="display: none" CssClass="box" runat="server"> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="upnlSelectClient" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Button ID="btnOK" runat="server" UseSubmitBehavior="true" Text="OK" CausesValidation="false" OnClick="btnOK_Click" /> <asp:Button ID="btnCancel" runat="server" Text="Cancel" CausesValidation="false" OnClick="btnCancel_Click" /> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> </asp:Panel> <input id="popupDummy" runat="server" style="display:none" /> <ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender ID="mpeSelectClient" runat="server" TargetControlID="popupDummy" PopupControlID="pnlSelectClient" OkControlID="popupDummy" BackgroundCssClass="modalBackground" CancelControlID="btnCancel" DropShadow="true" /> </div> </form> Code Behind using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; namespace CLIck10 { public partial class WebForm1 : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { } protected void btnOK_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { mpeSelectClient.Hide(); } protected void btnCancel_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { mpeSelectClient.Hide(); } protected void btnPush_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { mpeSelectClient.Show(); } } }

  • DropDownList Value not changing with UpdatePanel and ModalPopupExtender

    - by Richard
    Greetings, I have an asp.net webpage with an modalpopupextender inside of an updatepanel. When I click Ok on the popup, I can get the textbox values from the popup just fine, but the DropDownLists have the old/default value, not the new value I have selected for them. All the controls on the popup are set to enableviewstate = true, and autopostback = false (I just want to make the trip to the server when I click the ok button, not every time I change the value of the popups). Here is the relevant code. ========================== Client Side <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Panel ID="EditIssuePanel" runat="server" CssClass="modalPopup" Style="display:block;" > <table style="width:500px;"> <tr style="height:50px;"> <td colspan="2" align="center"> <asp:Label ID="lblEditIssueHeader" runat="server" Text="Edit Issue"></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblIssueName" runat="server" Text="Name:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:TextBox ID="txtName" runat="server" Width="250px" MaxLength="50"></asp:TextBox> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblDescription" runat="server" Text="Description:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:TextBox ID="txtDescription" runat="server" Width="250px" MaxLength="1000"></asp:TextBox> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblType" runat="server" Text="Type:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlType" runat="server"> <asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="B">Bug</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="R">Request</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="O">Other</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblStatus" runat="server" Text="Status:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlStatus" runat="server"> <asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="L">Logged</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="I">In Process</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="C">Complete</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> &nbsp; </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblPriority" runat="server" Text="Priority:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlPriority" runat="server" EnableViewState="true" AutoPostBack="false"> <asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="L">Low</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="M">Medium</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="H">High</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> &nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">Logger</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblEnteredByClientUserID" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblDateResolutionRequested" runat="server" Text="Requested Complete Date:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <igsch:WebDateChooser ID="wdcRequestCompleteDate" runat="server"> </igsch:WebDateChooser> &nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">Logged Date</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblLoggedDate" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">In Process Date</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblInProcessDate" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">Resolved Date</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblResolvedDate" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn" valign="top"> <asp:Label ID="lblEmailCCList" runat="server" Text="Email CC:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:TextBox ID="txtEmailCCList" runat="server" MaxLength="2000" Rows="0" TextMode="MultiLine" Height="83px" Width="250px"></asp:TextBox> &nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr> <td> <asp:Label ID="lblIssueID" runat="server" Text="" Visible="false"></asp:Label> <asp:Label ID="lblClientID" runat="server" Text="" Visible="false"></asp:Label> </td> <td align="right"> <asp:Button ID="btnEditOk" runat="server" Text="Ok" onclick="btnEditOk_Click"/>&nbsp;&nbsp; <asp:Button ID="btnEditCancel" runat="server" Text="Cancel" onclick="btnEditCancel_Click" />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </td> </tr> </table> </asp:Panel> . . .   • Setting up a button to trigger both modalPopupExtender and his Click Method

    - by Vitor Reis
    Hey guys, I have this modalPopupExtender, I want it to show a CheckBoxList with some data. I have set up a button to call both the method to fill the CheckBoxes and trigger the modalPopup (TargetControlID). they're all inside an UpdatePanel. with the right triggers. The problem is that when I click the button it shows the modalPopup but doesn't load the method to fill my CheckBoxes... Also, a linkButton inside the poup (linkButtonCheckAll) just closes the popup when clicked. When I remove the modalPopup the code works just fine and the list is loaded dinamically with the UpdatePanel. <asp:UpdatePanel ID="uppLote" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender ID="modalLote" runat="server" BehaviorID="popup" TargetControlID="buttonViewLote" PopupControlID="panelLote" /> <asp:Panel ID="panelLote" runat="server" CssClass="modalpopup"> <asp:LinkButton ID="linkButtonCheckAll" runat="server" Text="Check All Items" onclick="linkButtonCheckAll_Click"></asp:LinkButton> <asp:CheckBoxList ID="checkListLote" runat="server"> </asp:CheckBoxList> </asp:Panel> </ContentTemplate> <Triggers> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="linkButtonViewLote" EventName="Click" /> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="linkButtonCheckAll" EventName="Click" /> </Triggers> </asp:UpdatePanel> If I completely remove the modalPopupExtender, the code works fine, showing me the list I want with the method "linkButonViewLote_Click" (so, the problem is occurring due to the button triggering the modalPopupExtender is the same that I'm using to get my data, right? Any solutions?
