  Can someone please help as i've spent all day trying to fix this. I installed the latest XAMPP and now i can't connect to mysql from terminal.I checked my .profile file and the PATH seems ok. Does anyone know whats happened and what's the solution? PATH=$PATH:/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin export PATH THIS IS A PROGRAMMING QUESTION AS I'M A PHP DEVELOPER TRYING TO DO MY JOB! • Can't Repair Mysql Table

• why use mixed-based replication for mysql

  I am in the process of configuring MySQL replication and am intending to use row-based-replication but I was also reading up about mixed-based replication. This is where statement-based is the default and then for certain circumstances (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/binary-log-mixed.html) MySQL will switch to row-based. The list is quit vast on when it will switch to row-based. My questions are: Does any one use mixed? If yes why did you chose this over just using one or the other? Thanks in advance

• MySQL password changed every other day in windows?

  Every morning when I check server status,I will find MySQL's password is changed: mysql -uuser -ppassword will report ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'user'@'localhost' (using password: YES) And then I restart server,and when it's up,MySQL will be back to normal. It has now become a routinely job. What can be the cause for this? How can I know what's exactly happening to MySQL? • Is an NTBackup of a MySQL data directory reliable

I began to configure the backup with mysqldump when it occurred to me that an ntbackup taken using shadow copying should be reliable enough for backing up the database. Is there any flaw in my logic?

• What are these files ,can I delete them manually?
