  • How to get php mail function to work on Debian “squeeze”?

    I have installed Apache and PHP5 on my debian server. Firstly I tried it using sendmail. Here is the step by step procedure that I have tried : Step 1: apt-get install sendmail Step 2: /etc/init.d/apache2 restart But this didn't work. Then I tried using external SMTP . My domain is registered on BigRock.I registerd an email address there [email protected] and it gave me the required credentials. On server I installed sSMTP > apt-get install ssmtp > Configured "/etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf" file. In the configuration file I added [email protected] mailhub=smtp.fostergen.com:587 (Here I have doubt. I am not sure what to use here. I tried smtp.fostergen.com:587, smtp.fostergen.com:25,mx1.mailhostbox.com :587,mx1.mailhostbox.com:25. I am still not sure what to use here mailhostbox.com. I used mx1.mailhostbox.com as it was the mx entry for my domain on bigrock Here is the screenshot![screenshot of bigrock's email management tool] ) hostname=vs3204.ams2.alvotec.de (I entered the command hostname -f on my server and got it as result ) FromLineOverride=YES UseSTARTTLS=YES [email protected] AuthPass=password provided during email registration on bigrock > edited /etc/ssmtp/revaliases (added " root:[email protected]:mx1.mailhostbox.com :587 " in the last line) > edited php.ini file (sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/ssmtp -t) > /etc/init.d/apache2 restart But this didn't work. After this I tried eSMTP. Steps Performed : > apt-get install esmtp > edited /etc/esmtprc hostname=smtp.fostergen.com:587 username= [email protected] password: password provide by bigrock mda="/usr/bin/procmail -d %T" > linked eSMTP to the legacy Sendmail path by execting the command "ln -s /usr/bin/esmtp /usr/bin/sendmail" > edited php.ini file (/usr/bin/sendmail -t -i) > /etc/init.d/apache2 restart But this technique also failed. I just want to send email to users through php mail function. Kindly help. Where I am going wrong?

    in a xml/non-xml File there may exist some XML Block that I need to parse and replace with some other string.. The Scenario is something like this.. Some Text <cnt:use name="abc" call="xyz"> <cnt:param name="x" value="2" /> </cnt:use> Some Text There is no guarantee that the document is a proper XML document. (there may exist some unclosed Tags. or some other common mistakes that a Stupid people can make while typing HTML). so I can't use SAX or DOM. I can't even pass it to XSLT (am I right ?). So Whats the best way to extract the <cnt:*> part from the non-xml Document. and read it then replace with something else.

Say i have to work with two tables "Customer Master" and "Indian Customer" in ideal situation both tables are compleatly different, and are not interrelated in anyways. however they share the same database Content of "Customer Master": CustomerName (colomn): a, b, c, d, e Branchlocation (colomn): IN, AU, IN, IN, UK Content of "Indian Customer": customerID (colomn): 1, 2, 3 CustomerName (colomn): a, c, d customer details (colomn): details1, details, details . . . In Table "Indian Customer" i want to put a constraint so that the users entring data in this table should not be able to enter customers that dont exist in "Customer Master" or whose branch location is not IN. also the tables are in the same project but are not directly related.

The steps to calculate the anomalies are following: Monthly premature departures from the long-term (1991-2007) average are obtained. Then standardized by dividing by the standard deviation of monthly temperature. The standardized monthly anomalies are then weighted by multiplying by the fraction of the average temperature for the given month. These weighted anomalies are then summed over 3 month time period. Can you please help me?

Because when we tried to allocate memory using an malloc(), the kernel allowed to allocated around 124 MB of memory, and when we try to write into it, the kernel crashed. If there was protection of kernel memory area, this wouldn't have happened, I guess.

For Each step I have separate ActionClass say:- Step1Action.java Step2Action.java Step3Action.java Step4Action.java and in each class there are 2 methods input() and process(). input() method is for showing the page in input mode process() method is will be use for processing the submitted data (if validation is ok) I am carrying all data upto the last step in a session.
