• Strange unset cookie problem

  Hi there, I have a strange problem to clear Cookie via PHP. Lets say if I have a domain neobie.net I store "remember user login" cookie name as "USER_INFO" which contains string to identify user login in the next time of revisit. now using firefox, I saw that I have 2 cookies USER_INFO with domain "www.neobie.net" and ".neobie.net" with expiration date of 1 week later. I wrote a logout.php script, which clear the cookie of different domain (.neobie.net, www.neobie.net, neobie.net) to ensure that USER_INFO cookie is completely cleared for different domain. Now is the problem. The user isn't able to clear the cookie when user visit logout.php I found out that, I have to manually delete the cookie with domain "www.neobie.net", leaving the ".neobie.net " intact, then only the cookie can be cleared. So, I have to make the php script to setcookie USER_INFO on ".neobie.net", and prevent it to set cookie on "www.neobie.net" to make the logout.php script work. But I don't understand why I couldn't clear the cookie for "www.neobie.net" (with leading www. , tested on firefox and chrome)

  May I know how can I do PHP ? Such operators is not available in PHP, but is available in Javascript. I just managed to discover a function as follow: function zeroFill($a, $b) { $z = hexdec(80000000); if ($z & $a) { $a = ($a>>1); $a &= (~$z); $a |= 0x40000000; $a = ($a>>($b-1)); } else { $a = ($a>>$b); } return $a; } but unfortunately, it doesn't work perfectly.

• LDAP to change user password

  As I know, in PHP, we need to connect LDAP over SSL in order to change user password. Is there another way, E.G, other language (JAVA / ASP) to change LDAP password without SSL required? Thanks. Updates: I get "Warning: ldap_mod_replace() [function.ldap-mod-replace]: Modify: Insufficient access" when I try to modify self account password. If i try to change other user password, I get no error message, but the password still stick to the old one.

• Regular Expression for username

  I need help on regular expression on the condition (4) below: Begin with a-z End with a-z0-9 allow 3 special characters like ._- The characters in (3) must be followed by alphanumeric characters, and it cannot be followed by any characters in (3) themselves. Not sure how to do this. Any help is appreciated, with the sample and some explanations.
