  • CentOS: OpsCenter does not see other node's agent

    - by Alice
I'm new with Apache Cassandra. I am trying to install a little sample cluster using two CentOS server. I followed the documentation (Tarball installation) and the nodes are up. However, when I go to OpsCenter, the nodes cannot see each other's agent (there is always "1 of 2 agents connected"..I tried to fix, but nothing change). I tried both to disable and enable SSL, I tried to set the incoming_interface in opscenter.conf, I tried almost everything the network suggested to me, but the problem persisted. Now, I have SSL enabled, and agent log tell me: "There was an error when attempting to load stored rollups." Is there someone that could help me, please?

  • Opscenter repair service times out. ERROR: Requested range intersects a local range [...]

My production cluster had the repair service enabled since april 16th with the default 9 days time to completion and repairs would complete properly. Outside of the repair task, the Cassandra cluster works perfectly. I am running Opscenter 4.1.2 with a 6 nodes DSE 4.0.2 cluster installed on linux virtual machines. The nodes run a vanilla installation of Ubuntu Server 12.04 64-bit and DSE was installed and secured according to the provided installation documentation. I have been experiencing that problem on my development cluster for a while too (with DSE 4.0.0, 4.0.1 and 4.0.2), but I thought this was because of some configuration error on my part. The problem has appeared spontaneously at some point too. The Cassandra cluster has been working very smoothly with a good write throughput. It is very stable and has enough resources to work with. We did not notice any problems with the applications that depend on it.

  • 0 connected nodes in datastax opscenter

    - by gansbrest
Installed opscenterd on the separate node outside of the cluster, but within firewall ( aws security group ). Tested all possible ports between agents and opcenter server. No errors in the log.. 2013-10-30 01:07:23+0000 [FC_Cluster] INFO: Initializing event storage. 2013-10-30 01:07:23+0000 [FC_Cluster] INFO: Attempting to load all persisted alert rules 2013-10-30 01:07:23+0000 [FC_Cluster] INFO: Done loading persisted alert rules 2013-10-30 01:07:23+0000 [FC_Cluster] INFO: Done initializing event storage. 2013-10-30 01:07:23+0000 [FC_Cluster] INFO: Done loading persisted scheduled job descriptions 2013-10-30 01:07:23+0000 [FC_Cluster] INFO: OpsCenter starting up. 2013-10-30 01:07:23+0000 [] INFO: Finished starting new cluster services for FC_Cluster 2013-10-30 01:08:04+0000 [FC_Cluster] INFO: Agent for ip 10.34.10.185 is version u'3.2.2' 2013-10-30 01:08:04+0000 [FC_Cluster] INFO: Agent for ip 10.32.37.251 is version u'3.2.2' 2013-10-30 01:08:04+0000 [FC_Cluster] INFO: Agent for ip 10.82.226.252 is version u'3.2.2' The most interesting part that I can see some data in the opscenter UI, when I stop agents, there is no data displayed, when I start - it show up again, but at the same time it shows 0 connected nodes. Storage capacity is even funnier - 3 of 0 nodes.. Any ideas why that could be happening?

Oracle Database HA Architecture « The Oracle Instructor Oracle Certified Master Uwe Hesse introduces his blog's new Oracle Database HA Architecture page. (tags: oracle otn highavailability database) Mario Morgado: Where is the value of Enterprise Architecture? "When we purchase a product, its value is equivalent to the maximum amount that someone is willing to pay for the product. However, is the same equation valid in terms of the business value of enterprise architecture?" Mario Morgado (tags: otn oracle enterprisearchitecture) Steve Wilson: Managing Application to Disk "Of course, what we're introducing today goes beyond a mere re-skinning of Sun Ops Center. The promise is to offer real integration, and now we're delivering on the first phase in that roadmap by introducing the Oracle Management Connector for Ops Center. This software allows customers to connect an instance of Ops Center to an instance of Oracle Enterprise Manager's grid control server and connect the event streams of the two products, allowing for new levels of visibility into the customer's systems when using the combination of Oracle and Sun technology." • Free Updates and Errata for Oracle Linux

    - by Lenz Grimmer
ISO images of the Oracle Linux installation media as well as individual binary RPMs (and the sources) of major and minor releases (Updates) have always been freely available for download, use and distribution, ever since we started the Oracle Linux support program. We're now taking this a step further: in addition to the above, we will now also provide updated packages or errata for free from separate yum repositories on http://public-yum.oracle.com. If you would like to keep your Oracle Linux system up to date, you can now do so by subscribing your system to the respective "_latest" repository for your distribution, e.g. "ol6_latest" for Oracle Linux 6. See the installation instructions on the public yum front page for details on how enable these repositories. If you would like to also receive free updates to the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Release 2, make sure to enable the "[ol6_UEK_latest]" repository as well - updates to the kernel will be made available from this separate channel until it is included in the next set of installation media. Now what does this mean for Oracle Network Support? Getting access to the updates and errata was just one part of the offering – the following benefits will still only be available with an Oracle Linux Support Subscription only: Full indemnification against intellectual property claims. Use of base functionality in Enterprise Manager 12c for Linux and Enterprise Manager OpsCenter for provisioning, patching, management and monitoring of Oracle Linux Access to additional software channels on the Unbreakable Linux Network (ULN) (e.g. DTrace beta releases or ASM support packages) Wim also published a blog post with his take on the announcement.
