  I'm getting really muddled up now and my brain hurts! :( lol Root: index.php Includes: cat.php dog.php index includes dog: include("includes/dog.php"); dog includes cat: include("cat.php"); When I run index, for cat it says: A link to the server could not be established Access denied for user ... However, if I run dog, I get no problems... I'm guessing its the path, but i've tried ./includes/cat.php to no joy...

• Cannot export a fusionchart with 'Embedding Charts Using <OBJECT>/<EMBED> Tags'

  I am trying to export a fusion chart created using 'Embedding Charts Using / Tags'. Export works just perfect with the right click (on the chart) and chose a pdf to export. But I am not able to make this work via javascript. • Throwing cats out of windows

  Imagine you're in a tall building with a cat. The cat can survive a fall out of a low story window, but will die if thrown from a high floor. How can you figure out the longest drop that the cat can survive, using the least number of attempts? Obviously, if you only have one cat, then you can only search linearly. First throw the cat from the first floor. If it survives, throw it from the second. Eventually, after being thrown from floor f, the cat will die. You then know that floor f-1 was the maximal safe floor. But what if you have more than one cat? You can now try some sort of logarithmic search. Let's say that the build has 100 floors and you have two identical cats. If you throw the first cat out of the 50th floor and it dies, then you only have to search 50 floors linearly. You can do even better if you choose a lower floor for your first attempt. Let's say that you choose to tackle the problem 20 floors at a time and that the first fatal floor is #50. In that case, your first cat will survive flights from floors 20 and 40 before dying from floor 60. You just have to check floors 41 through 49 individually. That's a total of 12 attempts, which is much better than the 50 you would need had you attempted to use binary elimination. In general, what's the best strategy and it's worst-case complexity for an n-storied building with 2 cats? What about for n floors and m cats? Assume that all cats are equivalent: they will all survive or die from a fall from a given window. Also, every attempt is independent: if a cat survives a fall, it is completely unharmed. This isn't homework, although I may have solved it for school assignment once. It's just a whimsical problem that popped into my head today and I don't remember the solution. Bonus points if anyone knows the name of this problem or of the solution algorithm.

For example pairs ["cat","dog","mouse"] should result in [("cat","dog"), ("cat","mouse"), ("dog","cat"), ("dog","mouse"), ("mouse","cat"), ("mouse","dog")] I was able to form the first two, but am unsure of how to get the rest. • Switching my collision detection to array lists caused it to stop working

  I have made a collision detection system which worked when I did not use array list and block generation. We are doing this on two servers connected to the same switch. However, we're only getting the speed of one physical link. So that means I get back subscriber 1 and 2 since they are looking for the color red and size xl, and that's exactly my criteria. But what if I want to extend this so that I also get subscriber 3 since this subscriber didn't specifically say what color or size they want (ie. there is no entry for attribute 'color' or 'size' in the EAV table for subscriber 3). Given my current design, is there a way I can extend my query to include subscribers that have zero or more of the attributes defined, and if they do have the attribute defined, then it must match the criteria? Or is there a better way to design the table to aid in querying?

  I am beginning the process of moving away from the AjaxControlToolkit and toward jQuery. What I want to do is have one function that duplicates the functionality of the CollapsiblePanelExtender. For a particular set of hyperlink and div, the code looks like this: $('#nameHyperLink').click(function() { var div = $('#nameDiv'); var link = $('#nameHyperLink'); if (div.css('display') == 'none') { link.text('Hide Data'); div.show(400); } else { link.text('Show Data'); div.hide(400); } }); What I really want to do is only have to write this function once, then use it for many (approx 40) instances throughout my website. • python - tkinter - update label from variable

  I wrote a python script that does some stuff to generate and then keep changing some text stored as a string variable. This works, and I can print the string each time it gets changed. Problems have arisen while trying to display that output in a GUI (just as a basic label) using tkinter. I can get the label to display the string for the first time... but it never updates. This is really the first time I have tried to use tkinter, so it's likely I'm making a foolish error. It also seems possible I am meant to be using trace and callback somehow to make all this work...but I can't get my head around how that works (I tried, but didn't manage to make anything that even looked like it would do something, let alone actually worked). I'm still very new to both python and especially tkinter, so, any help much appreciated but please spell it out for me if you can :)

  Hi all, The last couple of days we are thinking of using Solr as our search engine of choice. Most of the features we need are out of the box or can be easily configured. There is however one feature that we absolutely need that seems to be well hidden (or missing) in Solr. I'll try to explain with an example. We have lots of documents that are actually businesses: <document> <name>Apache</name> <cat>1</cat> ... </document> <document> <name>McDonalds</name> <cat>2</cat> ... </document> In addition we have another xml file with all the categories and synonyms: <cat id=1> <name>software</name> <synonym>IT<synonym> </cat> <cat id=2> <name>fast food</name> <synonym>restaurant<synonym> </cat> We want to associate both businesses and categories so we can search using the name and/or synonyms of the category. But we do not want to merge these files at indexing time because we should update the categories (adding.remioving synonyms...) without indexing all the businesses again. Is there anything in Solr that does this kind of associations or do we need to develop some specific pieces? All feedback and suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance, Tom

• Flash External Interface issue with Firefox

  I am having a hard time getting ExternalInterface to work on Firefox. I am trying to call a AS3 function from javascript. The SWF is setup with the right callbacks and it is working in IE. I am using AC_RunActiveContent.js to embed the swf into my page. However, I have modified it to add an ID to the Object / Embed Tags. • Axis webservice calls fail sometimes, access.log shows content!

  Hi, our app is a webservice client (axis 1) to a third party webservice (also axis 1). We use it for some years now. Since a few weeks, we (as a client) get sometimes HTTP status 400 (bad request) or read timeouts when calling the webservice. Strangely, the access.log of the service shows part of the request or the response instead of the URL. Frequency of such call is 1% of all calls to that service. The only discriminator I know of so far is that it happens since operations informed us that the service url changed because of "server migration". Has anyone experienced such phenomenon yet? • How to calculate the y-pixels of someones weight on a graph? (math+programming question)

  I'm not that smart like some of you geniuses. I need some help from a math whiz. My app draws a graph of the users weight over time. I need a surefire way to always get the right pixel position to draw the weight point at for a given weight. For example, say I want to plot the weight 80.0(kg) on the graph when the range of weights is 80.0 to 40.0kg. I want to be able to plug in the weight (given I know the highest and lowest weights in the range also) and get the pixel result 400(y) (for the top of the graph). The graph is 300 pixels high (starts at 100 and ends at 400). The highest weight 80kg would be plot at 400 while the lowest weight 40kg would be plot at 100. And the intermediate weights should be plotted appropriately. Apache httpOnly Cookie Information Disclosure CVE-2012-0053 Can this be resolved by simply specifying a custom ErrorDocument for the 400 Bad Request response? How is the scanner determining this vulnerability, is it invoking a bad request then looking to see if it's the default Apache 400 response?

• IF function that refers to another cell if true

  Can someone please help? I am using the IF function to find cells within certain ranges, but want the cell to contain the value if it falls within that specific range. for example: =IF (AA3 is between 150 and 400 then AD3 is equal to AA3 and if not leave blank) my current formula below does not work: =IF(AND(AA3150, AA3<400), AD3=AA3, "" ) where AD3 is the cell I am working in... any suggestions?
