  • Determine image src in onload and onerror event handlers in IE

    - by Bill
    How can I determine the image src of the image that triggered the event in the onload and onerror event handlers in IE? This example code I threw together: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function loadImages() { var goodImage = new Image(); var missingImage = new Image(); $(goodImage).bind('load', function(event){ $("#log").append( $(event.target).attr('src') + ' WAS FOUND <br>'); }); $(missingImage).bind('load', function(event){ $("#log").append( $(event.target).attr('src') + ' WAS FOUND <br>' ); }); $(goodImage).bind('error', function(event){ $("#log").append( $(event.target).attr('src') + ' IS MISSING <br>'); }); $(missingImage).bind('error', function(event){ $("#log").append( $(event.target).attr('src') + ' IS MISSING <br>'); }); goodImage.src = 'GOOD-IMAGE.GIF'; // this image exists missingImage.src = 'MISSING-IMAGE.GIF'; // this image doesn't exist } </script> </head> <body onload="loadImages();"> <div id="log"></div> works in FF but in IE8 it prints out undefined for the $(event.target).attr('src') part. I thought jQuery was supposed to normalize the event object for IE so that it acted like other browsers? I've tried a number of permutations but haven't been able to get anything to work in IE8. Anyway if anyone has a suggestion on how to figure out the image src in the onload and onerror event handlers that works in IE I would really appreciate it. Or even how to figure out after the images have loaded which have loaded and which haven't (but not graphically - I need to generate an array containing the filenames of the images that didn't load). Thanks!

  • JQuery slideToggle replace image src

    - by Rob
    Hi, This function is called when an up/down arrow is clicked to slide hidden div. If the div is hidden, the arrow points down and changes to up when the div is shown. If the div is shown, the arrow points up to hide div and changes to down when the div is closed. I just wanted to know if there was a more efficient way of doing this or if this is the correct way. Thanks. function showInfo(info_id) { var img_id = '#arrow_'+info_id; var div = '#info_'+appointment_id; $(div).slideToggle('normal',function() { if ($(this).is(':visible')) { $(img_id).attr('src',$(img_id).attr('src').replace('_down','_up')); } else { $(img_id).attr('src',$(img_id).attr('src').replace('_up','_down')); } });}

  • JQuery click event, not working

    - by Roland
    I have the following scenario. I have a index.php page with the following JQuery code included jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#sIMG img').click(function(){ var currentSRC = jQuery(this).attr('src'); var altSRC = jQuery(this).attr('title'); var imgID = jQuery(this).attr('id'); var cat = jQuery(this).attr('name'); /*Fade, Callback, swap the alt and src, fade in */ jQuery('#main').fadeOut('fast',function(){ jQuery('#main').load("detail.php?id="+imgID+"&category="+cat); jQuery('#main').fadeIn('fast'); }); }); }); Now I have two div tags called #main and #right in the index.php page. When I click on a menu item right changes to a bunch of images, if I click on one of those images the above code should take effect and load into the main div, but it's just not working. the images are located within a div called sIMG. Any help will be appreciated

  • How can I find out if an data- attribute is set to an empty value?

    - by Stephan Wagner
    Is there a way to find out if an data- attribute is set to an empty value or if it is not set at all? See this fiddle example (Check the console when clicking on the elements): http://jsfiddle.net/StephanWagner/yy8qvwfp/ <div onclick="console.log($(this).attr('data-test'))">undefined</div> <div data-test="" onclick="console.log($(this).attr('data-test'))">empty</div> <!-- this one will also return an empty value --> <div data-test onclick="console.log($(this).attr('data-test'))">null</div> <div data-test="value" onclick="console.log($(this).attr('data-test'))">value</div> Im having the issue with the third example. I need to know if the attribute actually is set to an empty value or if it is not set at all. Is that actually possible? EDIT: The reason I'm asking is that I'm updating content with the attributes value, so data-test="" should update the content to an empty value, but data-test should do nothing at all

  • .live event doesnt work till second click

    - by ChampionChris
    I have 2 list on a page that are linked. When I drag a li element from list 1 to list 2 the live events on list 1 don't work on the first click only second click. Below is the code that adds the li (obj) to list 2. function AddToDropBox(obj) { $(obj).children(".handle").animate({ width: "20px" }).children("strong").fadeOut(); $(obj).children("span:not(.track,.play,.handle,:has(.btn-edit))").fadeOut('fast'); $(obj).children(".play").css("margin-right", "8px"); $(obj).css({ "opacity": "0.0", "width": "284px" }).animate({ opacity: "1.0" }); if ($(".sidebar-drop-box ul").children(".admin-song").length > 0) { $(".dropTitle").fadeOut("fast"); $(".sidebar-drop-box ul.admin-song-list").css("min-height", "0"); } if (typeof SetLinks == 'function') { SetLinks(); } //CBG Changes adds media ID to hidden field //checks id there is a value in field then adds comma if(document.getElementById("ctl00_cphBody_hfRemoveMedia").value==""||document.getElementById("ctl00_cphBody_hfRemoveMedia").value==null) { document.getElementById("ctl00_cphBody_hfRemoveMedia").value=(obj).attr("mediaid"); } else { var localMediaIDs=document.getElementById("ctl00_cphBody_hfRemoveMedia").value; document.getElementById("ctl00_cphBody_hfRemoveMedia").value=localMediaIDs+", "+(obj).attr("mediaid"); } // alert("hfid: "+document.getElementById("ctl00_cphBody_hfRemoveMedia").value); //END CBG Modifications } this is one of the live() events that dont fire until the second click after the drag. This live() event is in a document.ready function(). // Live for deleting. $(".btn-del").live("click", function(e) { DeleteItem(this); $(this).removeClass("btn-del").addClass("btn-add").parents("li").removeClass("alt").addClass("removed"); var oldTxt = $(this).parents("li").find(".status").text(); $(this).parents("li").find(".status").text("Removed").attr("oldstat", oldTxt); $("#timeHolder input[type=hidden]").val(($("#timeHolder input[type=hidden]").val() * 1) - ($(this).parents("li").find(".time").attr("length") * 1)); CalculateAggregates(); isDirty = false; }); EDIT @dreaton.. Im new to jquery and javascript so thanks for the last tip... Im not sure what you mean about cache the query's. ... the delegete feature is giving me this Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method this is the way I have the code $('#ulPlaylist').delegate('.btn-del', 'click', function (e) { DeleteItem(this); $(this).removeClass("btn-del").addClass("btn-add").parents("li").removeClass("alt").addClass("removed"); var oldTxt = $(this).parents("li").find(".status").text(); $(this).parents("li").find(".status").text("Removed").attr("oldstat", oldTxt); $("#timeHolder input[type=hidden]").val(($("#timeHolder input[type=hidden]").val() * 1) - ($(this).parents("li").find(".time").attr("length") * 1)); CalculateAggregates(); isDirty = false; });

  • IE ignores added onclick attribute

    - by user357034
    The Jquery code below works ok with firefox, Safari, Opera but not with IE. I kinda know why this isn't working in IE after reading a lot about it but I do not know how to fix it. My understanding (I think) is that this method will assign a attribute of "onclick" in IE rather than an event method. Therefore it will not fire in IE and the href fires instead which in this case is "#" which is exactly what is happening. What is the correct way of adding the onclick event. <a id="product_photo_zoom_url" href="/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=9857%2D116%2D003" title="9857-116-003 Ignition box"><img id="product_photo" src="/v/vspfiles/photos/9857-116-003-2T.jpg" border="0" alt="9857-116-003 Ignition box" /></a> <br /><a id="product_photo_zoom_url2" href="/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=9857%2D116%2D003" title="9857-116-003 Ignition box"> <img src="/v/vspfiles/templates/100/images/buttons/btn_largerphoto.gif" border="0"></a> var global_URL_Encode_Current_ProductCode; var global_Config_ProductPhotosFolder; var global_Current_ProductCode; var titleattr = $("a#product_photo_zoom_url").attr("title"); var picurl='tb_show(titleattr, \'/PhotoDetails.asp?ShowDESC=N&ProductCode=\' + global_URL_Encode_Current_ProductCode + \'&TB_iframe=true&height=600&width=520\');return false;' $("a#product_photo_zoom_url").attr('onclick', picurl); $("a#product_photo_zoom_url").attr('href', '#'); $("a#product_photo_zoom_url2").attr('onclick', picurl); $("a#product_photo_zoom_url2").attr('href', '#');

  • How to convert full outer join query to O-R query?

    - by Kugel
    I'm converting relational database into object-relational in Oracle. I have a query that uses full outer join in the old one. Is it possible to write the same query for O-R database without explicitly using full outer join? For normal inner join it simple, I just use dot notation together with ref/deref. I'm interested in this in general so let's say the relational query is: select a.attr, b.attr from a full outer join b on (a.fk = b.pk); I want to know if it's a good idea to do it this way: select a.attr, b.attr from a_obj a full outer join b_obj b on (a.b_ref = ref(b));

Jquery was used to check and uncheck them. Regards

  • Can't set element ID in JavaScript, it's always undefined

    - by Dylaan Alith
    Hi, I want to have a function that generates ID's on the fly for a given jquery object, if it doesn't have one already. These ID's should then be used in future requests. I came up with the code below, but it doesn't work. The ID's are never set. The commented out alert statement below always return undefined. I always pass code like $(this) or $(options.el) as a parameter to substitute 'el'. Initially, the elements do not have explicitly ID set in HTML. Any help would be appreciated, here's the code: getElementId: function(el) { if(undefined == el.attr('id')) { el.attr('id',"anim-"+Math.random().toString().substr(2)); } // alert(el.attr('id')); return el.attr('id'); },

  • Changing the href attribute on hover with jQuery

    - by AverageJoe
    Ok, I have an html page that is loaded into another html page via PHP (ok so its a PHP page, whatever). The page that is loaded is a list of hyperlinks. I need to change the href attribute to make the hyperlinks relative to the location of the stored images they refer too. When i load the page containing the hyperlinks the links are relative to the web host server, not the server that the page is actually hosted from. Somthing like this: <div #screenshots) <p><a href="image1.htm">Image1</a></p> <p><a href="image2.htm">Image2</a></p> <p><a href="image3.htm">Image3</a></p> <p><a href="image4.htm">Image4</a></p> <p><a href="image5.htm">Image5</a></p> </div> When I mouse over the links, the status bar shows the reference as "http://webHostServer.com/image1.htm". If I click it I get a 404 error. I need the href to change to something like this when I mouse over it: "http://www.actualImageHostServerIPaddress/image1.htm" I looked at this for assitance and came out with the following jQuery code, but for some reason none of it works: $(document).ready(function(){ $("button").click(function() { $("#screenshots a").addClass('ss'); }); $(".ss").each(function() { $(this).data("oldHref", $(this).attr("href")); orig = $(this).attr("href"); over = "http://208.167.244.33/208.167.244.33/"; $(this).hover(function() { $(this).attr("href", $(this).attr("href").replace(orig, over+orig)); }, function() { $(this).attr("href", $(this).data("oldHref")); }); }); When I click the button it dosen't add the class to the anchor tags, so when I hover over them nothing changes. Any help here would be great.

  • Defining and using controller methods in ember.js

    - by OriginalEXE
    first of all, I am total noob when it comes to OOP in JS, this is new to me so treat me like a noob. I am building my first ember.js application and I am stuck (not the first time but I would get unstuck by myself, this is a tough one though). I have two models: forms entries Entries is of course in (one to many) relationship to forms, so each form can have as many properties. Form properties: id : DS.attr( 'number' ), title : DS.attr( 'string' ), views : DS.attr( 'number' ), conversion : DS.attr( 'number' ), entries : DS.hasMany( 'entry' ) Entry properties: id : DS.attr( 'number' ), parent_id: DS.belongsTo( 'form' ) Now, I have forms route that displays all forms in tabled view, and each table row has some info like form id, name etc. and that works great. What I wanted to do is display the number of entries each form has. I figured I should do that via controller, so here is my controller now: // Form controller App.FormController = Ember.ObjectController.extend({ entriescount: function() { var entries = this.get( 'store').find( 'entry' ); return entries.filterBy( 'parent_id', this.get( 'id' ) ).get( 'length' ); }.property( '[email protected]_id') }); Now for some reason, when I use {{entriescount}} in {{#each}} loop, this returns nothing. It also returns nothing in single form route. Note that in both cases, {{title}} for example works. I am wondering, am I going the right way by using controller for this, and how do I get controller to output the data. Thanks

    Hello guys.. it's i first time i'm asking here. Sorry if the answer is available already. I have a very small jQuery script that canges the paramether for onclick attr on a DIV. IT works like as right and left arrows for some content in the middle. BAsically i set the onclick="foo(1)" then when get clicked sld change the value 1 to 2, and keep changing everytime i click. on jQuery functio i'm using: $("#v_arrow_r").attr('onclick','').unbind().click(newclick_next); it works like a charm on FF and Chrome, but does not work on IE !!!! Argh... here the the code: if (start == 24) { var a = 0; var b = 0; } else { var a = start-6; var b = start+6; } next = "home_featured_videos(" + b + ");"; newclick_next = eval("(function(){"+next+"});"); prev = "home_featured_videos(" + a + ");"; newclick_prev = eval("(function(){"+prev+"});"); $('#video-module').css('background',''); $('#video-module').html(response); $("#v_arrow_l").attr('onclick','').unbind().click(newclick_prev); $("#v_arrow_r").attr('onclick','').unbind().click(newclick_next); The html: //CONTENT So like i said.. i define the attr onclick when page open. It work well on IE. but when i click the arrow and call the function the oncli is set to null and i add the function to .click. IE stop working. the click is dead. If anybody have idea why this is happening. Thanx in advance. Kind Regards Varois

The html code is pretty much identical in both header templates. Please help me!! $(document).ready(function(){ $('.nav-home, .nav-port, .nav-exp, .nav-cont, .nav-blog').hover(function(){ $(this).attr('src','/images/' + $(this).attr('class') + '-hover.gif'); }, function(){ $(this).attr('src','/images/' + $(this).attr('class') + '.gif'); }); });

  • Grails problem with nullable contraint in domain class

    - by xain
    Hi, I'm having the following problem with grails' 1.2.1 domain classes: When I set a constraint attr(nullable:true) and attr is int or bool, this condition isn't reflected in the db (postgresql 8.4). However, if attr is a String, the DB is consistent with the situation. Any hints ? Thanks

  • JQuery not working in IE7/8

    - by user1665283
    I have been given the following code to implement: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('.hotspots a').bind('mouseover click', function() { $this = $(this); if($('.hotspot-target').data('hotspot')!=$this.attr('href')) { $('.hotspot-target').data('hotspot', $this.attr('href')); $('.hotspot-target').fadeOut(100, function() { $('.hotspot-target').css({backgroundImage: 'url('+$this.attr('href')+')'}); $('.hotspot-target .detail').hide(); $('.hotspot-target .detail.'+$this.attr('class')).show(); $('.hotspot-target').fadeIn(100); }); } return false; }) }); </script> It works fine in FF and Chrome with no errors in the console. I also can't see any errors in the IE debugger, though I'm not so used to how that works. Is there anything obviously wrong with the above code? It's placed at the end of the page

  • stored context in a JQuery variable does not work

    - by user203687
    The following works fine: $(function() { EnableDisableButtons(); $('#TextBox1').keyup(function() { EnableDisableButtons(); }); }); function EnableDisableButtons() { var len = $('#TextBox1').val().length; if (len == 0) { $("#Button1").attr("disabled", "disabled"); } else { $("#Button1").attr("disabled", ""); } } But the following does not work at all: var txt = $('#TextBox1'); $(function() { EnableDisableButtons(); txt.keyup(function() { EnableDisableButtons(); }); }); function EnableDisableButtons() { var len = txt.val().length; if (len == 0) { $("#Button1").attr("disabled", "disabled"); } else { $("#Button1").attr("disabled", ""); } } The error it was throwing was " 'txt.val().length' is null or not an object". Can anyone help me on this. thanks
