• c# scripting execution with xna (actions take more than 1 frame)

  I'm trying to figure out how to implement c# scripting into my game (XNA with C#). I will be using C# as the scripting language. My question is, how to call functions that take more than 1 frame to finish? • Code execution time out occationally

  I am working on an e-commerce website. There is a case where I need to fetch the whole data in database through third-party API and send it to an indexing engine. This third-party API has many functions like getproducts, getproductprice, etc., and each of that functions will return the data in XML format. From there I will take charge, I will use various API calls and will handle the XML data with XSLT. And will write to a CSV file. This file will be uploaded to an Indexing engine. Right now I have details of 8000 products to feed the engine, and almost all time the this process takes about 15 min to complete, and sometimes fails. I can't find a better solution for this. I am thinking about handling the XML data in C# itself and get rid of XSLT. As I think, XSLT is far slower than C#. Is it a good Idea? Or what else I can do to solve this issue?

• Weird execution of ruby/git executables in Windows [migrated]

  Something strange has happened. I can't run some command line executables in Windows anymore. Steps: Open cmd Run an executable, such as ruby -v or git -h When I do that, a new command prompt opens, running that command (I think, it's too fast to see), and instantly closes again. I've managed to print screen the new command prompt, and it shows that it's running inside this path: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\3582-490 Inside this folder, is the executable I'm tring to run. If I run ruby, then ruby.exe is in there. If I run git, then git.exe is in there. And it's always emptying the folder in between, so there is always just one .exe file

• Periodic script execution

  I made a script that sends my local sensors temperature to a server in the internet and then I can see a graph of it. Everything works fine when I execute it manully. I have the latest ubuntu version. When it comes to run periodically every minute with crontab then nothing works. It doesnt send anything. I tried to run it as SUDO and as user, I tried to add it in the crontab file to run it from several locations like /bin/myscript.sh , /user/Desktop and many others...Nothing seems to work. I have read some of the other answers, but this question is different because I want to apply conditional formatting to an entire row when its cell in column B contains the value 'Y'. Simple conditional formatting just formats that one cell. Whenever the field at column B for any given row contains the value 'Y', I'd like to format that row. Using Mac Excel's so-called "classic" conditional formatting, I have this: I would really like to apply that to every row, but it just paints the entire sheet red (because $B$3 contains "Y"). I can't seem to figure out how to get the reference to whatever is in field B for this row in the rule.

  Is there any way to convert conditional formatting to static formatting in Excel? I'm trying to export a range of a Excel Sheet to a new Workbook, with identical appearance but no formulas, links, etc. The problem here is that I have conditional formatting that relies on calculations outside exported range. I've tried saving the workbook to .html, oddly enough the formatting shows in IE but not when reopening it in Excel.

  This is actually extracted from my module (Pre-processor in C) The conditional expression could contain any C operator except for the assignment operators,increment, and decrement operators. I am not sure if I am getting this statement or not since I tried using this and it worked.Also for other manipulation a probable work around would be to simply declare macro or function inside the conditional expression,something like this to be precise. Also I don't understand what is the rationale behind this rule. Could somebody explain? Thanks

• How can i mock or test my deferred execution functionality?

  I have what could be seen as a bizarre hybrid of IQueryable<T> and IList<T> collections of domain objects passed up my application stack. I'm trying to maintain as much of the 'late querying' or 'lazy loading' as possible. I do this in two ways: By using a LinqToSql data layer and passing IQueryable<T>s through by repositories and to my app layer. Then after my app layer passing IList<T>s but where certain elements in the object/aggregate graph are 'chained' with delegates so as to defer their loading. Sometimes even the delegate contents rely on IQueryable<T> sources and the DataContext are injected. This works for me so far. What is blindingly difficult is proving that this design actually works. Ie. If i defeat the 'lazy' part somewhere and my execution happens early then the whole thing is a waste of time. I'd like to be able to TDD this somehow. I don't know a lot about delegates or thread safety as it applies to delegates acting on the same source. I'd like to be able to mock the DataContext and somehow trace both methods of deferring (IQueryable<T>'s SQL and the delegates) the loading so that i can have tests that prove that both functions are working at different levels/layers of the app/stack. As it's crucial that the deferring works for the design to be of any value, i'd like to see tests fail when i break the design at a given level (separate from the live implementation). Is this possible?
