How can I resize a set of sprite images?

Hey StackExchange GameDev community, I'm attempting to resize series of sprites upon instantiation of the class they're located in. I've attempted to use the following code to resize the images, however my attempts have been unsuccessful. I have been unable to write an implementation that is even compilable, so no error codes yet. wLeft.getScaledInstance(wLeft.getWidth()*2, wLeft.getHeight()*2, Image.SCALE_FAST); I've heard that Graphics2D is the best option. Any suggestions? I think I'm probably best off loading the images into a Java project, resizing the images then outputting them to a new directory so as not to have to resize each sprite upon class instantiation. What do you think? Photoshopping each individual sprite is out of the question, unless I used a macro. There is DOM for us but I am not familiar with that.

Jquery Accordion and Fading

I am trying to create a jquery accordion that fades the header of the accordion out when the page is loaded then fades it in when the mouse hovers. The accordion also opens when the mouse hovers. I am able to get all of this working, the problem I am having is when the accordion opens the header moves away and the mouse is no longer on it to keep it lit. I would like the links to keep the header lit as well as if the mouse is on the header itself. Using Python and Mechanize with ASP Forms

I'm trying to submit a form on an .asp page but Mechanize does not recognize the name of the control. Any advice on how to submit this form?

Dynamic Form Help for PHP and MySQL

The code below works as far as inserting records from a file into MySQL, but it only does so properly if the columns in the file are already ordered the same way as in the database. I would like for the user to be able to select the drop down the corresponds to each column in their file to match it up with the columns in the database (the database has email address, first name, last name). I am not sure how to accomplish this. Goal Instead of collecting several variables and naming them with keys individually, I have decided to give in and use an array structure to handle all inputs of the same type and rules. Once I have the variables, I will validate against them and if 'ok' store them in a MySQL table. The table will hold consumer information and will need to store multiple rows of the same type of information. Turning PHP page calling Zend functions procedurally into Zend Framework MVC-help!

Hi guys, I posted much of this question, but if didn't include all the Zend stuff because I thought it'd be overkill, but now I'm thinking it's not easy to figure out an OO way of doing this without that code... So with that said, please forgive the verbose code. I'm learning how to use MVC and OO in general, and I have a website that is all in PHP but most of the pages are basic static pages. I have already converted them all to views in Zend Framework, and have the Controller and layout set. All is good there. The one remaining page I have is the main reason I did this...it in fact uses Zend library (for gData connection and pulling info from a Google Calendar and displaying it on the page. My problem is to format the comments with br tag to replace \n In fact, i could do something like that s.gsub(/\n/, '<br />') But the xss protection including in rails escapes br tags. So i could do this s.gsub(/\n/, '<br />').html_safe But then, all the tags are accepted even script.... causing a big security problem So my question is : how to format text with br safely ? Hover image - part of forms appears untill hover another How?

Im trying to make part of my form/questionnaire appears when hover on image and stay active untill hover another image next to it. and repeat it on 7 images. Of course I need the cheched checkboxes to stay after they'll be hidden so you can come back to them by hover the image and for ex. correct answers and so on.. HTML, CSS: how can I merge these divs in order to use float:left property on their children ?

hi, I've 2 sets of thumbnails and in each set I'm displaying them one nearby each other in 4 columns using float:left. I would like to "merge" the 2 sets (but I cannot change the html code) because I want the thumbnails of the second set floating right after the last thumbnail of the first set. In other terms, if in the last row there are only 2 thumbnails and the last 2 columns are empty, the thumbnails of the second set should fill the empty columns of the last row of the first set. ruby on rails photo upload problem

Hallo rails version 2.3.5 I'm learning rails and I run into a problem. I'm doing some nesting forms from the railscasts tutorials. I changed the text area into a data field to upload photos and everything is working. Now i have to display the uploaded pictures and i simply can't do it. I Tried everything I could find on the net but nothing worked. Regular Expression not disappearing

I have 3 phone fields and any one is required. SO i had a custom validation class to make any one of them is required. Running Jetty under Windows Azure Using RoleEntryPoint in a Worker Role

This post is built upon the work of Mario Kosmiskas and David C. Chou’s prior postings – from here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mariok/archive/2011/01/05/deploying-java-applications-in-azure.aspx http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dachou/archive/2010/03/21/run-java-with-jetty-in-windows-azure.aspx As Mario points out in his post, when you need to have more control over the process that starts, it generally is better left to a RoleEntryPoint capability that as of now, requires the use of a CLR based assembly that is deployed as part of the package to Azure. There were things I liked especially about Mario’s post – specifically, the ability to pull down the JRE and Jetty runtimes at role startup and instantiate the process using the extracted bits. The way Mario initialized the java process (and Jetty) was to take advantage of a role startup task configured as part of the service definition. This is a great quick way to kick off processes or tasks prior to your role entry point. However, if you need access to service configuration values or role events, that’s where RoleEntryPoint comes in. For this PoC sample I moved the logic for retrieving the bits for the jre and jetty to the worker roles OnStart – in addition to moving the process kickoff to the OnStart method. The Run method at this point is there to loop and just report the status of the java process. Beyond just making things more parameterized, both Mario’s and David’s articles still form the essence of the approach. The solution that accompanies this post provides all the necessary .NET based Visual Studio project. In addition, you’ll need: 1. Jetty 7 runtime http://www.eclipse.org/jetty/downloads.php 2. JRE http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html Once you have these the first step is to create archives (zips) of the distributions. For this PoC, the structure of the archive requires that the root of the archive looks as follows: JRE6.zip jetty---.zip Upload the contents to a storage container (block blob), and for this example I used /archives as the location. The service configuration has several settings that allow, which is the advantage of using RoleEntryPoint, the ability to provide these things via native configuration support from Azure in a worker role. Storage Explorer You can use development storage for testing this out – the zipped version of the solution is configured for development storage. At that time the code will do a dynamic pull of the 2 archives and extract – using the Sharp Zip Lib <link> as Mario had demonstrated in his sample. The only different here is the use of CLR code vs. PowerShell (which is really CLR, but that’s another discussion). At this point, once the 2 zips are extracted, the Role’s file system looks as follows: Worker Role approot From there, the OnStart method (which also does the download and unzip using a simple StorageHelper class) kicks off the Java path and now you have Java! Task Manager Jetty Sample Page A couple of things I’m working on to enhance this is to extract the jre and jetty bits not to the appRoot but to a resource location defined as part of the service definition. Hello I am not a PHP programmer so I have no idea what the problem is here.
