  • Finding a 3rd party QWidget with injected code & QWidget::find(hwnd)

    - by David Menard
    Hey, I have a Qt Dll wich I inject into a third-party Application using windows detours library: if(!DetourCreateProcessWithDll( Path, NULL, NULL, NULL, TRUE, CREATE_DEFAULT_ERROR_MODE | CREATE_SUSPENDED, NULL, NULL, &si, &pi, "C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Research\\Detours Express 2.1\\bin\\detoured.dll", "C:\\Users\\Dave\\Documents\\Visual Studio 2008\\Projects\\XOR\\Debug\\XOR.dll", NULL)) and then I set a system-wide hook to intercept window creation: HHOOK h_hook = ::SetWindowsHookEx(WH_CBT, (HOOKPROC)CBTProc, Status::getInstance()->getXORInstance(), 0); Where XOR is my programs name, and Status::getInstance() is a Singleton where I keep globals. In my CBTProc callback, I want to intercept all windows that are QWidgets: HWND hwnd= FindWindow(L"QWidget", NULL); which works well, since I get a corresponding HWND (I checked with Spy++) Then, I want to get a pointer to the QWidget, so I can use its functions: QWidget* q = QWidget::find(hwnd); but here's the problem, the returned pointer is always 0. Am I not injecting my code into the process properly? Or am I not using QWidget::find() as I should? Thanks, Dave EDIT:If i change the QWidget::find() function to an exported function of my DLL, after setting the hooks (so I can set and catch a breakpoint), QWidgetPrivate::mapper is NULL.

  • need a near 100% uptime third-party web-accesible hosting for static web resources

    - by Jared Henderson
    I hope this makes sense: my business sells a website template, we currently have about 10,000 users. For various reasons that are unimportant to this question, I try to keep the file size of the zipped template we give them as small as possible. Because of this, I have taken a bunch of images and a couple of static files used by the template and moved them to external hosting. They are referenced by absolute URL in the css and markup, instead of shipping all of those images and files with every template. So, basically 10,000+ and growing users are requesting images and files from a third-party host. I don't use my own webhosting for this because I still kind of use a medium-cheap shared hosting for my website, and if it goes down, 10,000+ users are potentially effected. Currently I'm having the template directly access files inside of an open-source google-code project that I created for just this purpose. But, that seems like a bastardization of what a google-code repository is for, and plus, google code (i've found out) often spews 502 bad gateway errors for hours at a time. So, anyway, my question is: where is the right kind of place to host these? Obviously I'm willing to pay. My main needs are speed and uptime, since the images and files are being requested from thousands of different websites every day. Is this something that I should use Amazon S3 for? I'm guessing there's some kind of service exactly for this kind of need, but I'm at a loss to figure out what it is.

  • Generating python wrapper for 3ed party c++ dll using swig with

    - by MuraliK
    I am new bee to swig. I have a third party c++ dll with the following functions export. I want to call these dll functions in python. So thought of using swig to generate the wrapper using swig. I am not sure what sort of wrapper i need to generate (do i need to generate .lib or .dll to use it in python?). In case i need to generate .dll how do i do that using visual studio 2010. There are some call back function like SetNotifyHandler(void (__stdcall * nf)(int wp, void *lp)) in the bellow list. How do define such function in interface file. can someone help me plese? enter code here #ifndef DLL_H #define DLL_H #ifdef DLL_BUILD #define DLLFUNC __declspec(dllexport) #else #define DLLFUNC __declspec(dllimport) #endif #pragma pack(push) #pragma pack(1) #pragma pack(pop) extern "C" { DLLFUNC int __stdcall StartServer(void); DLLFUNC int __stdcall GetConnectionInfo(int connIndex, Info *buf); DLLFUNC void __stdcall SetNotifyWindow(HWND nw); DLLFUNC void __stdcall SetNotifyHandler(void (__stdcall * nf)(int wp, void *lp)); DLLFUNC int __stdcall SendCommand(int connIndex, Command *cmd); };

  • .NET: Serializing object to a file from a 3rd party assembly

    - by MacGyver
    Below is a link that describes how to serialize an object. But it requires you implement from ISerializable for the object you are serializing. What I'd like to do is serialize an object that I did not define--an object based on a class in a 3rd party assembly (from a project reference) that is not implementing ISerializable. Is that possible? How can this be done? http://www.switchonthecode.com/tutorials/csharp-tutorial-serialize-objects-to-a-file Property (IWebDriver = interface type): private IWebDriver driver; Object Instance (FireFoxDriver is a class type): driver = new FirefoxDriver(firefoxProfile); ================ 3/21/2012 update after answer posted Why would this throw an error? It doesn't like this line: serializedObject.DriverInstance = (FirefoxDriver)driver; ... Error: Cannot implicitly convert type 'OpenQA.Selenium.IWebDriver' to 'OpenQA.Selenium.Firefox.FirefoxDriver'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) Here is the code: FirefoxDriverSerialized serializedObject = new FirefoxDriverSerialized(); Serializer serializer = new Serializer(); serializedObject = serializer.DeSerializeObject(@"C:\firefoxDriver.qa"); driver = serializedObject.DriverInstance; if (driver == null) { driver = new FirefoxDriver(firefoxProfile); serializedObject.DriverInstance = (FirefoxDriverSerialized)driver; serializer.SerializeObject(@"C:\firefoxDriver.qa", serializedObject); } Here are the two Serializer classes I built: public class Serializer { public Serializer() { } public void SerializeObject(string filename, FirefoxDriverSerialized objectToSerialize) { Stream stream = File.Open(filename, FileMode.Create); BinaryFormatter bFormatter = new BinaryFormatter(); bFormatter.Serialize(stream, objectToSerialize); stream.Close(); } public FirefoxDriverSerialized DeSerializeObject(string filename) { FirefoxDriverSerialized objectToSerialize; Stream stream = File.Open(filename, FileMode.Open); BinaryFormatter bFormatter = new BinaryFormatter(); objectToSerialize = (FirefoxDriverSerialized)bFormatter.Deserialize(stream); stream.Close(); return objectToSerialize; } } [Serializable()] public class FirefoxDriverSerialized : FirefoxDriver, ISerializable { private FirefoxDriver driverInstance; public FirefoxDriver DriverInstance { get { return this.driverInstance; } set { this.driverInstance = value; } } public FirefoxDriverSerialized() { } public FirefoxDriverSerialized(SerializationInfo info, StreamingContext ctxt) { this.driverInstance = (FirefoxDriver)info.GetValue("DriverInstance", typeof(FirefoxDriver)); } public void GetObjectData(SerializationInfo info, StreamingContext ctxt) { info.AddValue("DriverInstance", this.driverInstance); } } ================= 3/23/2012 update #2 - fixed serialization/de-serialization, but having another issue (might be relevant for new question) This fixed the calling code. Because we're deleting the *.qa file when we call the WebDriver.Quit() because that's when we chose to close the browser. This will kill off our cached driver as well. So if we start with a new browser window, we'll hit the catch block and create a new instance and save it to our *.qa file (in the serialized form). FirefoxDriverSerialized serializedObject = new FirefoxDriverSerialized(); Serializer serializer = new Serializer(); try { serializedObject = serializer.DeSerializeObject(@"C:\firefoxDriver.qa"); driver = serializedObject.DriverInstance; } catch { driver = new FirefoxDriver(firefoxProfile); serializedObject = new FirefoxDriverSerialized(); serializedObject.DriverInstance = (FirefoxDriver)driver; serializer.SerializeObject(@"C:\firefoxDriver.qa", serializedObject); } However, still getting this exception: Acu.QA.Main.Test_0055_GiftCertificate_UserCheckout: SetUp : System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException : Type 'OpenQA.Selenium.Firefox.FirefoxDriver' in Assembly 'WebDriver, Version=2.16.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=1c2bd1631853048f' is not marked as serializable. TearDown : System.NullReferenceException : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. The 3rd line in this code block is throwing the exception: public void SerializeObject(string filename, FirefoxDriverSerialized objectToSerialize) { Stream stream = File.Open(filename, FileMode.Create); BinaryFormatter bFormatter = new BinaryFormatter(); bFormatter.Serialize(stream, objectToSerialize); // <=== this line stream.Close(); }

  • Shoutcast admin panel not showing most of information

    - by REALFREE
    I recently start audio streaming broadcast through third party - they provide server to broadcast audio. But when I accessed Shoutcast admin panel on the server, there's not much information I can use, for example, what if I want to ban a particular ip address. Here's screen shot- And none of options did work (listeners, tail logfile, view logfile, reverse ip list.. ) does it mean that provider blocks all features on shoutcast admin panel by default? or something else.. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks

  • Non-OEM Biometric Software?

    - by Iszi
    Most of us with fingerprint readers and such devices probably use the software provided by the vendor, to enable biometric OS login or single sign-on functionality. However, I've recently wondered if there is any third-party software that will do the same thing. This would be similar to how you don't need the manufacturer's software to use a scanner, printer, or webcam - you just use their drivers and your choice of software. Is there anything like this for fingerprint readers or other biometric devices? Free or Open Source projects are preferred, but I'd be interested in learning about any existing solutions regardless. I personally am particularly interested in Windows-compatible software, but I'll leave the query open for any OS.

  • Windows 2008 R2 file share - any way to "lock it down" outside of a 3rd party app?

    - by TheCleaner
    I have a 3rd party app that "makes a call" to write files to a file share on our network using the currently logged in credentials of the Windows domain user. Meaning the 3rd party app doesn't pass the apps credentials but simply issues a behind the scenes copy command to take a source file specified and copy/move it to the destination "repository" on the file share. The basic premise is that it keeps revisions/approvals for Document Control (think svn/git I guess, similar to this question: Lock down Windows folder to only be updatable by SVN). This all works fine...but here's my issue: I need a way to lock down the file share from being accessed/modified outside of using the 3rd party app (meaning prevent explorer/word/excel/etc from getting to that share). I know I can do the following: make the share a hidden share ($) - this definitely helps. Most users would have zero clue on how to get to such a share. Solves probably 95% of my issue. go one step further and set the "Hidden" attribute on the folders in the hidden share - this would go a little further in that even if a user knows the path to the hidden share like \\server\hidden$ they still won't see folders in that share without changing their explorer options to "show hidden files/folder Any other ideas on how I can lock this down? The users still need modify rights to this share/folders since the 3rd party app relies on their Windows permissions to that location when copying the files into it. I can't really use 3rd party tools to password protect the folder/share without causing the 3rd party app functions to fail.

  • Drag String data from My Cocoa App to Third-Party Cocoa App

    - by Woodster
    Hello, I want to drag a row from my tableview and drop it into any other NSTextField in Mac OS X 10.6, and have a string of text be dropped. Drag and drop already works within my app (between a NSTableView and an NSBrowser), but I have had no success putting any data on the pasteboard that can accepted by apps other than the source application. Here's the code I tried, which I thought would be enough to get hte word "hello" to be 'pasted' when I drop into some other NSTextField: -(BOOL) tableView:(NSTableView *)tableView writeRowsWithIndexes:(NSIndexSet *)rowIndexes toPasteboard:(NSPasteboard *)pboard { [pboard declareTypes:[NSArray arrayWithObject:NSStringPboardType] owner:self]; [pboard setString:@"hello" forType:NSStringPboardType]; return YES; } //-- I never get the cursor that shows me the drop will be accepted, and it just doesn't work. Things I've tried: Using the 10.5 version of the Pasteboard identifier, NSStringPBoardType Using the 10.6 version, NSPasteboardTypeString. Setting the owner = nil, since I'm not providing the data lazily. Using the keyed archiver: [pboard setData:[NSKeyedArchiver archivedRootObject:@"Hello!!"]] None of the above have worked. I think I have the concepts correct: "Encode data, tell the pasteboard what you've got, then give it the data", but since other apps don't recognize it, I suspect I'm not telling the pasteboard the correct datatype. Where am I going wrong? Thanks, Woody

  • can I use the IOC when using a 3rd party library

    - by Greg
    Hi, Q1 If I have a reusable library that is available, that uses interfaces with classes that use the getInstance concept to create concrete classes for you to use, then in this case would that make sense on the client side to use the IOC container to create instances of these classes? Or is that really applying a double layer of abstraction? Q2 Or in the cases where I'm building the reusable library myself and want the client to use an IOC container, then in my reusable library would I then dispense with any overhead of having factories or "getInstance" methods to instantiate the classes in the client? (i.e. as the IOC container would do this no?)

I have trawled through some of this site - http://www.windowsphone7series.com/ but I can't seem to find the answer. Specifically will I be able to write an app on the phone that updates the cloud with the phones current GPS position in the background even when other apps are running in the foreground.

  • Parsing third-party XML

    - by mare
    What path would you took to parse a large XML file (2MB - 20 MB or more), that does not have a schema (I cannot infer one with XSD.exe because the file structure is odd, check the snippet below)? Options 1) XML Deserialization (but as said, I don't have a schema and XSD tool complains about the file contents), 2) Linq to XML, 3) loading into XmlDocument, 4) Manual parsing with XmlReader & stuff. This is XML file snippet: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xmlData date="29.04.2010 12:09:13"> <Table> <ident>079186</ident> <stock>0</stock> <pricewotax>33.94000000</pricewotax> <discountpercent>0.00000000</discountpercent> </Table> <Table> <ident>079190</ident> <stock>1</stock> <pricewotax>10.50000000</pricewotax> <discountpercent>0.00000000</discountpercent> <pricebyquantity> <Table> <quantity>5</quantity> <pricewotax>10.00000000</pricewotax> <discountpercent>0.00000000</discountpercent> </Table> <Table> <quantity>8</quantity> <pricewotax>9.00000000</pricewotax> <discountpercent>0.00000000</discountpercent> </Table> </pricebyquantity> </Table> </xmlData>

  • SVN Question regarding branching and third party vendor branching

    - by fritzone
    Hi, We are developing an application which consists of: a source code base given to us by a partner infrequently. This is a somewhat working code, "final" version of something. They have their own release cycle and version tracking. on the code base above we make our changes. These can be either bugfixes or development of new features. Till now, we managed to create some code mayhem, as a result we would like to put all this in a SVN repository. I would like to ask you what you think is the best practice for this to happen with the less pain. The followings are our things that we consider important: We would like to track our bugfixes/changes since we cannot send back bugfixes to our software vendor, but we can report a bug (and they might or might not fix it). All we develop on their code remains "in-house" they are not interested in our changes. As long as we don't get a new codebase from the vendor, we consider their latest version to be the stable one we are working on. This might be branched down further, but the result is always a stable trunk, the build is done based on this "stable" trunk. When the vendor releases a new version we would like to merge our "stable" trunk (which contains a lot of changes) with their changes, thus creating a new "stable" trunk. For each version we deploy (to clients) we should be able later to fix bugs only on that version, for clients who have installed our system using that specific version There are more developers working on the codebase... (as usual :) Thanks a lot for the tips.

  • Django 1.2 object level permissions - third party solutions?

    - by mawimawi
    Since Django 1.2 final is almost out, I am curious if there are already projects that use the new object level permissions / row level permissions system. [django-authority][1] which is a possible solution for Django up to 1.1 has not been updated for a while, and does not (yet) use the new permissions system. It seems to me that Django-Authority is in a comatose state. Does someone know about upcoming or maybe even finished solutions? I'd appreciate any good links to active projects with at least some downloadable content very much. [1]: http://packages.python.org/django-authority/ django-authority

  • Rendering LaTeX on third-party websites

    - by A. Rex
    There are some sites on the web that render LaTeX into some more readable form, such as Wikipedia, some Wordpress blogs, and MathOverflow. They may use images, MathML, jsMath, or something like that. There are other sites on the web where LaTeX appears inline and is not rendered, such as the arXiv, various math forums, or my email. In fact, it is quite common to see an arXiv paper's abstract with raw LaTeX in it, e.g. this paper. Is there a plugin available for Firefox, or would it be possible to write one, that renders LaTeX within pages that do not provide a rendering mechanism themselves? Some notes: It may be impossible to render some of the code, because authors often copy-paste code directly from their source TeX files, which may contain things like "\cite{foo}" or undefined commands. These should be left alone. This question is a repost of a question from MathOverflow that was closed for not being related to math. I program a lot, but Javascript is not my specialty, so comments along the lines of "look at this library" are not particularly helpful to me (but may be to others).

  • Configure Active Relying Party STS to Trust Multiple Identity Provider STSes

    - by CodeChef
    I am struggling with the configuration for the scenario below. I have a custom WCF/WIF STS (RP-STS) that provides security tokens to my WCF services RP-STS is an "Active" STS RP-STS acts as a claims transformation STS RP-STS trusts tokens from many customer-specific identity provider STSes (IdP-STS) When a WCF Client connects to a service it should authenticate with it's local IdP-STS The reading that I've done describes this as Home Realm Discovery. HRD is usually described within the context of web applications and Passive STSes. My questions is, for my situation, does the logic for choosing an IdP-STS endpoint belong in the RP-STS or the WCF Client application? I thought it belonged in the RP-STS, but I cannot figure out the configuration to make this happen. RP-STS has a single endpoint, but I cannot figure out how to add more than one trusted issuer per endpoint. Any guidance on this would be very appreciated (I'm out of useful keywords to Google.) Also, if I'm way off please offer alternative approaches. Thanks!

  • Storing third-party libraries in source control

    - by graham.reeds
    Should libraries that the application relies on be stored in source control? One part of me says it should and another part say's no. It feels wrong to add a 20mb library that dwarfs the entire app just because you rely on a couple of functions from it (albeit rather heavily). Should you just store the jar/dll or maybe even the distributed zip/tar of the project? What do other people do?

    - by Reed
    Hello All, I am using IIS 7 on Server 2008. I just tried migrating my app from an older platform - everything works fine, except the email feature. This is my config: < mailSettings > < smtp from="[email protected]" deliveryMethod="Network" > < network host="mail.xyz.com" port="25" userName="[email protected]" password="123" /> < / smtp > < /mailSettings > Whenever I need to send an email I use: SmtpClient smtp = new SmtpClient(); smtp.Send(email); The funny thing is I get absolutely no errors, however the email is never sent. The outbound firewall ruleset allows SMTP traffic. Any idea what I did wrong?

  • How to apply a free third party CA and set up Tomcat SSL with it

    - by lenny
    These days I tried to apply a free third pary CA ( www.cacert.org & www.freeca.cn ) and then set up Tomcat SSL with the CA. My purpose is to eliminate the "Certificate Error" page when accessing https://... from a client browser. But it's a little hard for me to get around it. My steps to apply a free CA, from www.freeca.cn I used keytool to generate a cer file with command: keytool -genkey ... // Generate a key keytool -certreq ... // Generate a cert file and then I got some code from the cert file, and paste onto www.freeca.cn to generate a cer file. Then I imported the cer file keytool -import -alias abc -file MyABC.cer -keystore mykeystorefile.store And then I set up the mykeystorefile.store into tomcat /conf/server.xml, but it didn't work, sill pop "Certificate Error" page when trying to access https://.... • Controlling the scope of a document.write call coming from a third party

    - by pingrey
    Dear all, I'm writing a webpage that relies on an external javascript file (that I have no control of), which returns data by using document.write's. Is there any way to dynamically call the function without it overwriting the whole document? The most concise code I can think of is below: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function horriblefunction () { document.write("new text"); } </script> </head> <body> Starting Text... <div id="pleasewriteinme"></div> Other text... <button onclick="horriblefunction();">Click</button> </body> </html> The idea beginning that without altering "horriblefunction()" (as it's external) the new text could be placed in the div instead of overwriting the page. Is this possible or does the function have to be called inside the div as the page is created? Thanks for you help
