• Using UITouch inside a UIScrollView

  Hi all, Just toying with the SDK and I was wondering if possible a UITouch event can work inside a UIScrollView. I have setup a UIScrollView which handles a large UIView, inside the UIView is a UIImageView, I've managed to get the UITouch to drag the UIImageView outside of the UIScrollView but inside it's not registering the event. I suppose what I was trying to accomplish was dragging the UIImageView around the large UIView whilst the UIScrollView moves along the image if the user drags it beyond the POS of when the UIView when the UIImageView began it's dragging, if that makes sense? • UIButton disappears inside selected UITableViewCell

  I have a table, I have cellForRowAtIndexPath delegate for it and I have instance of UITableViewCell being created inside that method, which I return. Somewhere in cellForRowAtIndexPath I also add UIButton to cell.contentView of that cell. It all works fine, until I select that cell with button in it. The cell changes color to blue (which is ok), uibutton changes its color to blue too. Now, if I click on that UIButton inside selected cell, it just disappears! Wow, that's weird, how do I fix it? I want UIButton inside selected cell to stay, when I click it.

• Serving files inside of directories with ruby and mongrel

  I made a simple web server in Ruby using the Mongrel gem. It works great for files in a single directory, but I run into some path issues when inside a directory. Lets say we have 2 files in a directory named "dir1", "index.html" and "style.css". If we visit http://host/dir1/index.html, the file is found, but style.css isn't because it's trying to load "style.css" from http://host/style.css instead of inside the directory. index.html is trying to load style.css as if its in the same directory as itself. <link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> I can get the file if I enter the full path of style.css: /dir1/style.css but it doesn't seem to remember it's already inside a directory and that no path before a filename should serve from the current directory. • disallow selection inside an input element

  I am looking to do the following Disallow text selection inside of an input element Do not show the cursor carrot inside of an input i cannot simply blur the input on click, focus must remain in the input. There is probably a way to do this in just IE, i would of course rather have a cross browser solution but ill settle for IE (or FF) only solution.   I have a website (not a web application- in visual studio you get two options-create a website/project) running on IIS 6.0. Now I want to develop few features in MVC architecture. So I created one MVC application in visual studio and everything is working fine on localhost as a separate application. Now I want to host this MVC app also inside the website I have already deployed. I created a virtual directory(MVCDir) inside the default website in IIS 6.0.   Hello, I have a link inside a label. The problem is, when user clicks 'back' after having read the terms, the checkbox is unchecked, because when they clicked on the link they also unchecked the box at the same time, since the link is inside a label. <input type="checkbox" id="terms" name="terms" checked="checked" /> <label for="terms">I agree to be bound by the <a href="/terms">Terms</a></label> How can I prevent the checkbox from being checked when link is clicked? Tried doing event.preventDefault() on label click, but that doesn't prevent checkbox from being checked/unchecked. I could just take out the link from inside a label (which means more CSS styling). But now I'm curious whether the above is possible.

I created a bunch of editable UITableViewCell by embedding an UITextField inside, but I have seen some apps that allows you to scroll the UItableview by scrolling inside an inactive editable cell. How can I do that? And how can I also dismiss the keyboard when tapping somewhere else? I know about the method: - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; if (touch.tapCount == 1) { [self resignFirstResponder]; } else { }} I put it inside my custom table view controller but the method doesn't seem to be called upon a tap, and I don't know if even if it gets called will dismiss the keyboard. • Previewing php pages inside Expression Web 3 suddently stopped working

  On a Windows 7 development machine, I have expression web 3, PHP 5 installed I have been using expression web and PHP for a while, and previewing php pages etc on pressing F12 (preview using local server). Suddenly on F12 all PHP pages display as blank, even a phpinfo() file. Standard html pages continue to work correctly on F12. If I place the same page php inside the default website on inetpub and browse using localhost then the phpinfo() file works. So I know that php is installed and configured correctly for IIS. Things I've checked: Gone into site settings in Expression web and confirmed that php is selected and it is pointing to the php executable Reinstalled php Checked iis that the php extension is registered. Copied files to a different machine with expression web and php installed and it works on. The strange thing is that it gives a blank (no errors) page inside expression web, but does work inside inetpub This was working up until recently, then suddenly stopped for no reason.

  Hello, I have a category on NSDate, and I want to implement some functions to manipulate the date, like : NSDate *thedate = [NSDate date]; [thedate setToMidnight]; so I have a function in NSDate like : -(void)setToMidnight { some code with calendars and comps self = theNewDate; } This works inside the function, but outside this member function, thedate has not changed. I understand this malfunction because I've been told that self is just a local variable created inside the member function. So, how can I make this work ? Of course, I could have written : thedate = [thedate dateAsMidnightDate] or thedate = [NSDate dateAtMidnightFromDate:thedate] but I feel it has more sense inside the instance class, as I don't want to change the date but just adjust some values of the previously created one. Can you help me to achieve this ?

  i have zip file inside a Text file (file.txt inside a file.zip) and i would have to append to this file another text file file.txt outside the zip file. How Can i do ? Is there a solution ? I've tried to add Append =1 parameters to IO::Compress::Zip but the file inside the zip been overwritten .. use IO::Compress::Zip qw(zip $ZipError) ; $filenameToZip = 'file.txt'; zip $filenameToZip => "file.zip",Append => 1 or die "zip failed: $ZipError\n"; Need i to decompress the zip, append/merge the two TXT file's and compress the file Again ? • Dynamic access to tables from another database inside an user function

  I have an user defined table function in SQL Server that aggregate data from several tables including a couple of tables of another database. That is done hardcoding the name of the database in the queries, but we want to make the database name configurable (because our databases usually share the server with the databases of other applications). I tried to construct a dynamic query string inside the function using the database name that is stored in a configuration table, but: When I tried exec(@sqlStatement) SQL Server said that execute string is not allowed inside a function. Then I tried exec sp_executesql @sqlStatement and the function was created, but when you execute it SQL Server says that inside a function you can only run extended functions and procedures. So the question is: is possible create a function or stored procedure that access a table in another database without having to recreate the function when the database name is different? TIA.

• CentOS running inside VMware as WebServer times out on outside connection

  I have a CentOS machine running inside VMware, and I have got PHP and Apache set up on it, so if I open a browser (on the VM) and go to either localhost, or 192.168.0.3, I get a phpinfo page I made in /var/www/html/index.php, but, if on the host (Windows 7), in my browser I go to 192.168.0.3, it times out. I can ping the IP address from Windows and get a response, I just can't through the browser. Does anyone have any ideas what I need to do to get this working? This is my first time using a VM and I'm getting lost in the network settings.

• Compressed filesystem inside a file in Linux [migrated]

  I have a flash drive which is FAT32 formatted. I want to put a linux filesystem on the drive inside a file. I know I can do this by creating a file and formatting is with ext3 (or any other file system) and then mounting it with the -o loop option. What I would like is that the above filesystem be compressed. Essentially something like a read-write squashfs. Is there something that exits that I can use? Additional bonus if the file can be stored as sparse, i.e. the file re-sizes as data is written or deleted.

• Unable to outside access service from inside LAN

  I have a weird port forwarding problem. I tried to open my port 22 to the outside network. I was able to access it as long as I am not inside the LAN. I can access it from my office for example. But from within the LAN, I can access the port using the local ip, but I can't access the port using the external IP. It's as if the router is blocking the loopback. I've check all my router settings, turned off anything firewall/filtering related. Any ideas?

• Redirect 'host-based' requests to a port (inside a docker container)

  I'm trying to achieve this fun project of having multiple 'postfix/dovecot' instances inside a docker container. I'm searching for 'something' that would redirect any incoming request on port 25 (any maybe later 143, 993) to the right container on a different port. Here's the idea : +-------+ +----------+ (internet)----(port 25) |mainbox| ---- (port 52032) |container1| (postfix) +-------+ | +----------+ \ (port 52033) +----------+ |container2| (postfix) +----------+ So the idea is to 'redirect' requests coming to port 25 and based on 'hostname' to forward to the right port (internally); ideally, it would be great to manage this 'mapping' with a database/textfile Any ideas ? Directions ?
